It might not be the most Fall-vibe book on my October TBR, but it’s definitely one of the most anticipated 😍🧡 “With The Fire On High” is the perfect book for anyone who loves deep narratives, marinated with a love of cooking and baking. Durante o mês de Agosto, li o livro “Cartas Picantes” de VI Keeland e Penelope Ward, para o clube de leitura organizado pela Cláudia e pela Filipa da página @twobestfriendsandbooks 📚☺️ Apesar de não ter sido um dos livros mais sexys que já li, não deixou de ser super divertido e com uma boa mensagem relativamente à saúde mental. . . Há vários anos que Luca sofre de agorafobia e ansiedade generalizada devido a um evento traumático na sua adolescência. Por causa disso, cortou totalmente todas as ligações que tinha com o mundo, incluindo as cartas que enviava a um amigo de escrita no Reino Unido, Griffin. Anos mais tarde, Luca está no caminho da recuperação quando recebe uma nova carta de Griffin, agora adulto, que não só a deixa totalmente desconcertada, mas que também ressuscita alguns sentimentos que Luca pensava ter perdido. (Listened to on audiobook) 5⭐️! I’d give this book infinite stars, if Goodreads allowed it. That was absolutely perfect. There aren’t enough words to describe how much I loved this book. Evelyn Hugo is a captivating character, with a thrilling life story, and Taylor Jenkins Reid is a genius for writing her. The last two hours of this audiobook had me sobbing. I’ve read and listened to many good books this year, so far. But at the moment, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo takes the crown 👑 . . Happy 5th Anniversary to my Bookstagram!!!! (Still haven’t changed that goddamn quote 😂) What a wonderful 5 years it’s been 💜 I started this account with the intentions of sharing my love of reading and my thoughts on all the books I read (I was always a very opinionated person). I succeeded in doing that, but also in finding a group of people who made me feel welcome, heard, and understood. My relationship with this community has had its ups and downs. Throughout these 5 years, I’ve learned more about myself, questioned myself, but also learned to be proud of myself. For years, reading was my “dirty secret”. The thing I hid from the world out shame, because that’s how people around me made me feel. I was ashamed to say I cried over deaths of people that weren’t real, that I fell in love with relationships that weren’t mine, that I dreamed of adventures to places that didn’t exist. And then I found bookstagram. And I realized that I had nothing to be ashamed about. That I wasn’t alone. In 5 years, I made new friends, I read new books, I found new characters, I changed my mind over, and over again, I learned new perspectives, and I gained a family. Thank you to everyone that has been there with me since the birth of Mads The Bookworm. Thank you to everyone who joined a little later. Thank you to everyone that joined recently.
