"Oh come now Bonnie, it's not that bad." Kai lightly pats her stomach. "At least you got some good food in your tummy."

"Malachai! Our apartment building is filled with Cthulhu cultists! Cultists that are trying to use me because I'm psychic and can speak to that thing!"

Boo-Kai Fright Night

After a hiatus we're proud to bring back our annual Halloween event involving out two favorite plucky characters and what better way than seven nights of horrors. Starting on October 24th ending on October 31st.

Themes:

Day 1: Fright Night || The name sake of the event, original or remake, give them a night based on this movie.

Day 2: Monsters Under The Bed || Every person's worst nightmare, literally. What creatures lie ahead? Whatever one's you want.

Day 3: Fear Street || Based on the Netflix trilogy, what past lives do these two have and will it ever end?

Day 4: Twilight Zone || Outerspace horror, what other worldly monsters will they encounter?

Day 5: Hocus Pocus || Based on everyone's favorite Halloween Disney movie, a night of campy horror is just what the doctor ordered.

Day 6: Resident Evil || Based on the video game series, a night of undead horrors created by corporate greed.

Day 7: Don't Drink The Kool-aid || It's definitely not a cult, everything they believe in is real, or is it?

As per usual, you can interpret these themes however you like in whatever medium you like. We look forward to seeing everything you guys create. Boo-Kai Fright Night - Day One

(disclaimer - i can’t write fics or create photosets or anything like that so this is a post of ideas)

So, the 2011 remake is definitely my favourite of the Fright Night films, but when I think of Bonkai, I picture the original 1985 film. Namely this scene.

I can definitely see Bonnie and Kai in a scene like this. Very intimate, very sensual, very ‘oh-this-is-so-bad-but-it-feels-so-good’, and that first song is such a banger.

I mean.. the lyrics speak for themselves. 

So, I reckon these selections from the OG Fright Night are pretty relevant to the vibes I got from the canon dynamic of Bonkai and what the dynamic could have been. Bonnie being tempted by a dark figure, but instead of it being a repulsive experience, it could be incredibly sensual. 

Also I like the idea of Kai wearing that cuddly sweater Jerry has in the club.

Boo-Kai 2022 Day 1: Fright Night

“Has anyone heard from Tina Fell?”

Bonnie stops passing out flyers for the annual Halloween dance. “No, why?”

“She missed school today.”

Bonnie rolls her eyes. “People miss school all the time Amber.”

“I think something happened to her, like with Caroline’s brother Daniel.” Amber shrugs, “maybe Kai Parker is right about the vampires.”

Kai strolls into the cafeteria drinking a can of soda; when done he chucks it into a nearby trashcan making eye contact with Bonnie. “Of course I’m right and Bonnie will help me prove it.”

“I think not weirdo. I have better things to do with my time than hang with you.”

The peaceful Mystic Falls is disrupted when the attractive Jerry Dandridge moves next door to Bonnie. She thinks nothing of it but her former childhood friend, Kai Parker, swears Jerry is a vampire and blackmails Bonnie into helping him prove it. A late night study session turned stakeout provides them with the proof Kai needed but no one believes him save for Amber and now Bonnie. Together they resolve destroy Jerry for good.

Boo-Kai Day 5: Hocus Pocus~October 30th, 1245; others begin to arrive to the New World to escape the Crusades, some with good intentions while others not so much. One such group was known as the Daughters of Venaeris; they felt that since they had the magic they could rule over the others. Eshe, who would not let that stand singlehandedly subdues the women and seals them away underneath a tree. Centuries later while at a Gathering in Salem a 16 year old Bonnie and a 17 year old Kai accidentally release the Daughters. Things escalate when the Daughters follow them back to Mystic Falls and begin terrorizing Bonnie's friends and family. With help from Eshe’s spirit Bonnie and Kai work together to bind the women and seal them away for good.

Boo-Kai 2022 Day 2: Monsters Under The Bed

Mystic Falls, 1877; it started with the disappearance of a child from her home. Days later her little body is found but her skull is missing. With the werewolves and witches driven out of Mystic Falls there’s no one to protect it from the monsters drawn in from the bloodshed. Many more die until Naomi and Henry, the children of Emily, return and put a stop to the murders and the monsters.

Present day Mystic Falls sees the advent of the creatures arrival when Bonnie Bennett dies from reviving Jeremy. With her death the barrier protecting Mystic Falls collapses allowing all manner of creature in. The spirits place Bonnie in a little space for her mind and body to recuperate, a prison world. There she meets Kai Parker, a siphon who wants out of the pocket dimension. They clash repeatedly on ideals both too stubborn to give in. On the outside Mystic Falls descends into chaos.

A year passes and Bonnie has went through a profound change. No longer is she the young woman who sacrifices herself for everyone else. Bonnie and Kai have made a pact and Mystic Falls can burn for all she cares.

The problem was, Bonnie was a good friend.

Which is why she was currently posing on top of a parade float in an itchy antebellum gown with Matt Donovan dressed as a Confederate officer standing behind her with his hands on her waist.

Oh, and she also had to smile for the camera.

Boo-Kai Day 6: Resident Evil

Officer Kai Parker is finally taking his much needed two and a half week vacation. First a two day reprieve in his lovely apartment then he's off to Brazil. Bonnie Bennett has just moved to the city from Mystic Falls ready to put her bachelor's of science to use at Evergreen Pharmaceuticals. A bonafide military brat and daughter of a chemist Bonnie is definitely more than meets the eye. Kai is smitten the moment he sees her moving into his building and is not subtle about it. They nerd bond over video games, street racing and surprisingly teddy bears. Unfortunately for them three days later they wake into a nightmare; their apartment building and surrounding area is infested with zombies. Things take a turn for the worst when it's revealed Bonnie's new job has ties to the outbreak and they want to cover all their bases...
