Op you're so right but in particular I'd like to point out the angst potential. Everyone talks about how Danny is so traumatized by seeing a possible alternate future self do some, admittedly, pretty terrible things. But no one wants to talk about the fact that this boy had his free will completely taken away from him. Now, it's been a while since I've seen the show, so I can't quite remember if Danny really remembered anything that happened while he was under Freaks how's spell. But just imagine if he was entirely conscious to watch his own two hands be used to hurt people, including his own friends! Trapped inside his mind, screaming for help, but with no one to hear. Indefinitely. No clue when, or even if, he'd ever get out. Or if he'd just be passed along to the next generation like an accessory to the staff. Like an object.

I rewatched DP's season 1 finale and realized that Freakshow is high key my favorite DP villain after Vlad. He's got a cool design and is honestly extremely underrated and GOSH someone needs to properly utilize the fact that his family has apparently had a ghost-controlling magic staff in their possession for generations. Like that's such an awesome idea but sadly yet another concept to add to the list of "cool stuff that DP introduced and then did absolutely nothing with" (which I'm aware is literally the entire show but this is a Freakshow appreciation post so,,,,)
