Hello yall... as you may know, I'm currently in massive debt from the two emergencies that despite their monetary cost, still cost two of my cats their lives less than a year apart from each other. My carecredit paydate is the 8th but my next paycheck's a few days later; and since Zelda's stuff just refilled allllll the space i had previously cleared on it (along with some more on my credit card), my minimum payment went up quite a bit, and it doesnt look like I'll have enough money in the bank on due date to not get overdrawn.

I feel horrible constantly asking for help, but it is what it is at this point huh (inescabably terrible.) Any donations massively appreciated, shares as well 🥲 Thank you

This one goes out to my friend @abra-ka-dammit and her number one idiot, Bojji. Everyone who knew anything about him, from internet buds to ER nurses loved the sweet little guy, and we'll all be crying for him today. Though none so much as his mom who did everything she could for him, and still had to usher him over the rainbow bridge to spare him something worse.

So pour one out for the little grey cat today, and hug your own kitties tight in appreciation. Rest in peace, Bojji. Sleep tight. No more tubes where you're going. 💙

Ranking of Kings appreciation and the amount of tears I can shockingly produce per episode

Not to scare you note: This anime will emotionally beat you up, heal you, make you happy and feel safe, and then beat you up again.

Ranking of Kings (王様ランキング, Ōsama Rankingu) is an on-going anime that I watched after seeing the review of The Prout Brothers on YouTube. Thanks to them, I was able to witness its glory not too late and board the hype train. Ranking of Kings is a shounen fantasy story that tackles about a courageous young prince named, Bojji. Because of preconceived notions around his deafness and lack of physical prowess, he must overcome a world that fails to see his worth. The animation is *chef kiss* beautiful, they remind me of kid’s book illustrations which effectively captivates the audience of all ages. They are now my icon and if I had a kid, I’d let them watch this instead of i-don’t-want-to-mention-kids-shows-today. I can guarantee its understandability, due to their body languages, how their vocal expression changes, facial expressions, great backstories, and their simple dialogues. It didn’t even make me look back 10 seconds ago and stare what they just said out of confusion. I understood them well and kept watching without any skips which I shamefully do to most of the animes I used to follow. I can’t. They are too good that I am starting to run out of words to type and I need them to reach specifically at 750- help.

Okay let's talk about the opening and ending songs they used for the whole 21 episodes available right now

They are absolutely gorgeous. They deserve a cat.

The first opening tells you the beginning of Bojji’s story, that feeling which is lively and comparable to a ball of sunshine. The OP would bring you in a good mood as if were still 7 and watching this on Sunday morning with a bowl of cereal on your lap. It is like a fresh breeze of air that rarely comes across your face, you relax with it. The music will make you think that this is a happy light-hearted adventure tale with no eye fluids secreting scenes out of nowhere. Be prepared. The ED is a lullaby with lyrics I would cry for, I haven’t look at them until now and they trigger what I need in my life- a companion for life. Let me quote that, “If you’re weak, let me show you my weakness too. And if you pretend you’re strong, I’ll hold your weakness in my arms”. But I am mad because I just realized how their names were a pun, anagrams and homophones, for example, Hilling and Healing, Desha and Hades, then Bojji and Bocchi (which meant lonely). They are too brilliant this should be illegal.

And I am not done yet, we still have OP2 and ED2 to talk about. Hadaka no Yuusha by Vaundy is what made Ranking of Kings- ANIME. The transitions of the animation fit perfectly to the song, the sudden surge of power to every nerve of your body, on how the events have turned and how mysteries began to unfold. I am dumbfounded. At this point, I am telling you to give this a try and be one of us. Me trying not to make it sound like a cult. Lastly, Flare by millet is the song that screams “This is it! The character is overcoming his hardships, we are nearing to our ending!” I think it’s the parade like instruments in the background which gave it off. It’s like a celebration, a coming-of-age party, something that we should be anticipating.

Enough fangirling to songs, the biggest feat in this blog is the storyline of Ranking of Kings. But first, as to the amount of tears I produced per episode, I would say, generous. A generous amount of tears had been shed where I thought would only last for the first 2 episodes but was wrong. Dead wrong. I cried every other episode, and I am tired of it but not for the show. I watched them non-stop, one after another because it is so interesting! And I can’t do anything how to stop those persistent tears because they kept reminding me how helpless I am although not mute or deaf like Bojji. Hey, I did not expect the plot and the characters are beautifully written and portrayed. Its hate-love kind of thing, you’ll hate them first then love them that it stresses you out.

I love their backstories and how a person can change so much by the environment they live in. I witnessed how some people can be selfish for their beliefs, for what they think is right, and for someone they treasure dearly. Ranking of Kings depicted what humanity is, how beautiful and cruel, kind and vindictive, tenacious and pathetic we can be. It is a hell of a ride, a rollercoaster of emotions. The story clearly did not only focus to Bojji, but to everyone he came across with- they are as important as him and had their own share of struggles in life. This is what made me fall in love and appreciate the series so much. They do not feel rushed and is so sincere for the viewers. Look, Bojji came from a giant’s family and because of circumstances, he is small and physically weak. He can’t even carry a hand size of a stone and made the people constantly worry for him. Yet, he was able to overcome all of those despite the disadvantages- and every time he feels overwhelmed, he had someone by his side to encourage and toughen him up. I think I should stop before I ended up spoiling the series. *sad noises*

Anyways, thank you for reading. I can't believe you made it this far with me confusing the heck out of you (weak English and explanation skills), I will be leaving a piece of statement I found while scrolling the comment section on YouTube…

She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man, il nuovo teaser trailer fissa il debutto dell’anime per gennaio 2022

A dirigere l’avventura fantasy c’è Keitaro Motonaga, regista di Date A Live e Digimon Adventure tri.

Pubblicato un nuovo breve teaser trailer sottotitolato in inglese di “Kenja no Deshi wo Nanoru Kenja” (She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man), la serie animata tratta dall’omonima light novel fantasy isekai di Hirotsugu Ryusen. 

L’anime è stato coprodotto da Funimation e andrà in onda a partire da gennaio 2022; inizialmente il debutto era previsto nel corso del 2021.

I membri del cast svelati finora sono:

Mira: Nichika Omori (Yurine Hanazono in Dropkick On My Devil!)

Solomon: Ayumu Murase (Shoyo Hinata in Haikyu!! L’asso del volley) 

Luminaria: Minami Hinata (Bojji in Ousama Ranking) 

Per quanto riguarda lo staff, l’adattamento è diretto da Keitaro Motonaga (Jormungand, Date A Live) presso STUDIO A-CAT (Soukou Musume Senki, Amazing Stranger).

La sceneggiatura è curata da Takamitsu Kouno (Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen, Absolute Duo), mentre il character design è ad opera di Kumi Horii (Soukou Musume Senki, Infinite Stratos 2). Le musiche per la colonna sonora sono invece composte da Go Sakabe (Date A Liva, Digimon Adventure tri).

Il romanzo è incentrato su Kagami Sakimori, un giocatore di un MMO dove interpreta uno dei nove grandi saggi del mondo del gioco, lo stoico evocatore Dunbalf. Quando una notte si addormenta durante l’ennesima partita, si risveglia all'interno del mondo di gioco nei panni del proprio personaggio, che però ha le sembianze di una ragazza molto carina!

Ryusen ha iniziato a serializzare la light novel sul sito “Shōsetsuka ni Narō"  nell'aprile 2012, dove è ancora in corso di pubblicazione. Micro Magazine ha iniziato a pubblicare la storia con le illustrazioni di Fuzichoco (The 8th son? Are you kidding me?) nel giugno 2014. Al momento, l’opera è giunta al 15° volume.

Dicca Suemitsu ne ha lanciato un adattamento manga nel luglio 2016, che ad ora conta 8 volumetti.

Making a new one so the initial text better reflects the current situation.

My youngest cat, Bojji, swallowed a few feet long ribbon on Nov 22. After ER extraction, he went septic due to a tear in his throat. Between the ICU, and a shorter period of tube-fed home care, he seemed to get better; then his tubes were removed, and he got worse. After so much desperate time in and trips back and forth to the ER, getting him every single possible potential solution regardless of the cost or inconvenience to myself, on December 22, I still had to put him down. You can find more detailed information in my pinned, my ko-fi, or by searching my blog for the name Bojji.

All in all, even with around 2/3 of all of this paid for with compassion funds from the vets themselves, I spent $9.5k trying to save my boy. Generous donors helped give me hope through this ordeal, allowing me to agree to further treatments with less dread. Now there is no more treatments. Only the remaining debt.

It's not as inspirational as the last post, because there's no more cat to try to save. But if you have some sympathy to spare, please donate and/or share to help a heartbroken catmom (with 2 other, much older babies to care for still,) get out from under the crushing weight of capitalism's awful effect on medical emergencies.
