fun fact! Tara and Elle are both wearing box braids! They’re called that because of the box-shaped parts you can see on their heads. Tara’s are shorter and bigger, likely done with only her natural hair. She’s decorating them with little clasps and wraps that are made specifically for this purpose. It makes sense that she keeps them short since she’s a ballerina, and (at least in my opinion) it can be kind of hard to get long braids into a neat little bun.

Elle’s are a lot longer, and you can see that they used added hair in a mix of colors to give them that shade and length. It also looks like the ends are left out and curled. I can’t tell if they’re French curls, but curled ends are a pretty popular style atm. Other popular styles include goddess braids (where non-braided pieces of hair are left out) and boho braids (where braids are left partially unbraided at different lengths to create a messier look).
