Backstory:

Born in an unnamed city, Valorie Spencer is raised in emotional seclusion... No more like neglect. They berate her, tell her of her shortcomings often, and even lock her in her room for days without food. She has one escape, the internet. She views cosplayers being given fame, love, and money. She practices sewing, researching what’s popular with what crowd. Within time she starts a small following, which then morphs from y’kno... Extreme twitch trolls turning serious over a love for a genuine sweet soul. It starts as a joke, sending the haters to “reform” for 10 minutes, chanting at the mods to “Flip that frown upside down!” until eventually the worst offenders begin to come up missing IRL. Found in their chair with their faces drawn into smiles, glitter being dumped into their mouths. They call her their “Valentine” and are deathly devoted to her wellbeing and spreading her joy through the internet, though they keep Val in the dark about the “Smiling Cult”. Her songs are one of the most streamed on Spotify, her cosplays while underground is really on par with a professional, most call her “underrated” but to Val.... She’s not there yet. Sometime in her late teens, she shoves her belongs into a bag and scales the building. Running away from home. We pick up on a “On the run” Val who soon forgets herself and joins a trip to Egypt. Where will she go? Who will she become?
