BACK TO NORMALITY
Well after the 5 show marathon of Progress, Lucha Forever and PCW respectively, it was back to just the 1 wrestling show in this edition of the #80showyear and a trip for show number 37 at Tidal Wrestling in Leeds. Now this is generally Tidal's biggest show of the year - High Tide headlined by a big elimination match between The Service (Dan Evans, Sean Only, Dara Diablo and Jimmy Havoc) vs Rampage Brown, Jason Prime, HT Drake and mid match Sebb Strife in a very good all around the church brawl hitting each other with everything that wasnt pinned down including my half pint of Goose Island (£2.40 around Primates head). The inclusion of Strife was a welcone surprise after him continously having beef with Sean Only since his injury and the resulting dive from the sermon desk was great to see - take into account Sebb is a 300 pound man at least. As good as the match was, the finish was a bit poor with rampers and havoc left, havoc took the high road and got eliminated by count, which i do think maybe sets up a future title match between the two hopefully. Other matches on this show included 2 standout matches in the first half - El Ligero vs Bubblegum with Gum playing upto his lesser seen heel character these days. These 2 put on a fantastic match for around 12 minutes including the now obligatory Canadian Destroyers, hopefully we get to see these two fight again in TIDAL and this match was certainly up there with a PCW match they had at the back end of last year. The other good match was Joseph Connors vs CJ Banks part 2, maybe slightly not as good as part 1 but still worth a watch back on DVD when its released. CJ Banks is really underated as a good guy/tweener role having only really seen him over the years as a baddie. Part 3 has now been set for the 16th December and is 2 out of 3 falls. Some of the ok to the not so good things - Jack Bandicoot and The Pop Punk Kid vs Chuck Mambo and Brady Phillips this was a ok match, in which i thought Phillips looks a good prospect for the future and so does Mambo (a very nice bloke to chat to as well). CRASHBOAT on the other hand were a bit spotty in patches mainly on Pop Punk Kid part who i have seen 3 times now and dont see as much potential as i do with Jack Bandicoot but hey ho, they are relatively new on the scene and could be shown in a better light vs CCK next month. Not so good scale - Amir Jordan vs Bodyguy Roy Johnson i think showed Bodyguys limitations when he is away from the mic. He must have something for WWE to be interested but this was maybe an off night. Beer prices - Goose Island IPA for £4.80 a pint at the Church venue, actually a very nice drink for a wrestling show (lovely pint) Pubs beforehand we went to TAPPED and i had 2 of there own beers which were a couple of light IPAs at a cost of around £4 a pint, really nice pub for a wide selection of beer and i have heard the pizzas are one to taste as well. The usual trip to The Head of Steam was a good one as i had half a pint of a new ROGUE Brewery drink which was a 10% coffee stout, certainly one of the best drinks i have had recently and hit the spot around 11pm snoring my head off in the car on the way home. Overall the show i would give it a 7/10 and worth a watch for the 3 matches i have recommended to see. The next time for TIDAL is 23rd July for the big clash between RAMPAGE BROWN vs JEFF COBB - get the church reinforced 😮 #grapsandclaps

GRAPS AND CLAPS 5 DAY EXTRAVAGANZA PART 5
Here we are the final part of my 5 day UK Tour of wrestling and day 3 of Progress Wrestlings Super Strong Style 16! Now after the fun of the first two days of action from Progress, the anticipation of the semi finals and finals were one to savour with Matt Riddle vs Tyler Bate and Zack Sabre vs Travis Banks ready to set the tone for the days worth of action. We made our way to The Ice Wharf Wetherspoons for around 1030am to meet up with our group for breakfast, this time the breakfast was better than the last time but sadly my £20 didnt go far for 2 pints and 2 breakfasts - Oh the days of being in Rochdale and getting lashed off a twenty! With doors opening at 2pm, it was again a case of wandering around Camden to past the time on. So it was a case of visiting pubs i hadnt currently visited on this trip and ably joined by @clinay - follow him on twitter he's a top fella 🖒. We decamped to the following places: Camden Eye - Good pub and actually one of the cheaper pints this weekend at £4.50, but it could have done with a bit of air con in their to make it a bit more comfortable. The Worlds End - A return trip here after the previous night and the chance to sit upstairs sipping our £5 plus pints. But because of the warm weather it was as warm as PCW in Bradford the other night. Brewdog - We had a couple of pints in this place, well i snigger at pints as Brewdog insist on things in 1/2, 2/3 or SCHOOOONERS! and a dry humpimg in price for it. But still a chance to get a decent drink before the graps. Drinks were done and it was off to the ballroom via a quick chat with wrestlers Pastor William Eaver (who was after an inspirational quote for the day) and Chuck Mambo - nice blokes and not up their arses. Now the wrestling, we started off with a big Wasteman match including OOH AH DAVID STARR!, HE'S A FLAMITA, Mark Andrews, Flash Morgan Webster, Bodyguy Roy Johnson, Jack Sexsmith, Pastor Eaver and would have included Jimmy Havoc but he thought better and hit everyone with a chair. This match was just what you want from an opener, lots of fun and great action. One spot included Starr doing his cock thrust to everyone and one bit that made me cackle was the face Morgan Webster pulled (one of the best facial reactions i have seen). Onto the 2 semi finals which were 2 of my favourite matches of the weekend starting with Banks vs ZSJ in a stiff and technical match which stands up easily with other encounters they have had elsewhere. Both i genuinely rate in "best in the world" lists just because you never see a bad match with either in. Matt Riddle vs Tyler Bate was just as good as their Manchester scrap except this one ended clean as a whistle unlike last time and got Tyler Bate over even more pinning the current Atlas champion. This set up the final which i will get to later that everyone though would be the final - Travis Banks vs Tyler Bate. Undercard matches for the day included Pete Dunne vs Jeff Cobb in a good 8 minute scrap with Dunne getting the victory over Big Jeffrey. Also a number one contenders match for The Womens Progress title between Katey Harvey and Kay Lee Ray, this was just ok for me which later would be understandable due to Harvey carrying an injury but i felt it had its spot to give the fans a needed breather after the first 3 matches. Bit of a sad fact when i sat watching this, was this could at one time have been a main event at a Pippa La Vin show 🤔. Now onto the Main Event of SSS16, what can i say about this match but "UK MATCH OF THE YEAR". 15 minutes in when British Strong Style interfered to try and help Tyler you thought NOT AGAIN, till CCK thwarted them to a monstrous ovation to let Tyler and Travis get on with things and by god they sure did. The last 7 minutes of this match was edge of your seat tense and full of drama with so many twists and turns until Travis submitted Tyler with the Crossface. Utter madness ensued with people hugging each other, pints in the air, babies in the air this was a celebration of Travis Banks and his rise in the UK. Just a magical moment 😍😍😍😍😍 So that was that! 5 days, 50 pints, £500 spent ,all of the travelling, late nights, being with good people and we hopefully all do it again Next Year. #grapsandclaps
