Life update: my best friend took me to pick up the camper I’m moving into; and the seller was kind enough to let us dismantle the table at his house, so I didn’t have to pay the city to remove the scraps 🙌 things are looking way up for me right now, and I’m so grateful for the beautiful souls that have come into my life and made my life so bright. I’ve been working on keeping my mindset positive. Every setback is a chance to learn and grow, and I’m immensely thankful and excited about life, these days
Disclaimer: I am in no way suggesting that anyone pick up any of these books, willy nilly. They’re classified as horror, and as such they include (and sometimes focus on) extremely unsettling — often genuinely horrific— themes and subject matter. Please please PLEASE do not read these if you’re squeamish or if you like reading stories with happy endings. These stories are not for the faint of heart.
That being said: I realized yesterday that my favorite books that I’ve read in the past year or so, are all horror novels about the meat packing industry. And all of them are about the meat coming from more…sentient beings than the cattle of our time (are perceived to be, we don’t know what goes on in their minds). And as abhorrent as many of the occurrences in these stories are, each of the authors have such a strong narrative voice and the stories are so beautifully written that it’s easy to get swept up in them. To my followers who want to be nauseated AND outraged AND moved to tears AND intrigued, all in the same breath…who also have the stomach for extreme violence and depravity of almost every nature…I highly recommend reading any of these 3. Tender Is The Flesh is definitely the least…graphic…followed probably by Meat, then Cows. Cows has moments where it’s genuinely a fun story, immediately followed by some of the most gruesome shit I’ve ever read. Anyway…reading is fundamental
Small photo dump from the past few weeks. A lot of my favorite pictures have people I don’t have permission to post pictures of, and for their privacy, I must limit myself to crafts, flora, fauna, and selfies 🙃
I gave my friend the option of having me redo the entire fish, because of the bleeding of the magenta pen, and he told me not to worry about it, that she’ll love it either way 🙌 so I slapped that baby on the shirt I got for her, and made this cute little hem label for it 🤘🏼 this has easily been one of my favorite things I’ve worked on, and I cannot wait for it to go to its rightful home 🥰
So I made this patch based on a text post that made me legitimately cackle before taking up residence in my brain for several weeks afterward. I attached a similar post, but I KNOW there’s one with this exact wording floating around tumblr somewhere, I just can’t locate it 😭 if anyone wants to do me a solid and send it to me and/or add it to this post, I’d be eternally grateful 🙌
Another going-away present in the bag! I’m so salty that so many of my friends are moving and/or have moved away 😔 I love them a lot, and I’m sad they’re leaving, but super proud that they’re following their dreams and stuff
Should anyone feel like helping a bitch keep her lights on by purchasing my crafts, I would be eternally grateful to you 🙏 the FishyPig shirt isn’t available, but I wanted an example of one of my commissioned pieces, and it’s definitely one of my favorites. I tried not to include pictures of anything else that isn’t available. Feel free to message me if you’d like anything else pictured, or if you’d like pictures of my older pieces. Additionally, I’m also open to commissions, but they take quite a while to design and stitch, so…keep that in mind. I have a tone of other finished things, though🤗
