Lol you lost a big opportunity to just be quiet. What you want a video of him beating up, then you gonna believe her? Look don't need to use what student law bs to pretend to have a high grown, just be honest and say you love the man to much to belive her. You gonna be a great lawyer, you get the bs down already, I can only imagine the type of people you gonna work for it
I do not love bob. Yes I was a fan because I like the character he portrays on the show, but so what? And this has nothing to do with my morals. Me as a person and me as a lawyer have to be separate people, since law does not equate moral. As a person, I do believe in the victim, since it was clear from day one bob and eliza's relationship came from cheating - and I'm not delusional enough to think a straight man can't ever be an abusor. Am I going to parade and try to get points with other people by bashing someone online without proof? No. You may disagree with my thinking, but this is the real world, not twitterland, where everyone should be a perfect being. I won't backtrack on what I said and if you are so offended, blocking me is your right.
And yes I did choose this profession for a reason. Call me immoral, but I won't be a hipocryte and go against what I learned in college and what I believe is right. I will never stand by "guilty before innocent", this kind of thinking goes against centuries of philosophical evolution and the hermeneutics of law. It does not mean I want victims to be silenced. It just means I'm not a freaking moron.

You know what’d be really cool to me? If SU explored the topic of Lapis being an abusor more.
Like, to me it seems obvious that what the crewniverse was trying to do was paint an abusive relationship where both sides are abusive. The problem with that is that they also tried to paint right and wrong sides in the abusive relationship. Lapis was right, because she was Steven’s friend and she saved the world for a small period of time. Jasper was wrong because she was a homeworld gem who tried to kill Steven. And calling a Jasper a villain for that is fair; she was still an abusor. But painting Lapis as a victim and not giving the same treatment to Jasper is fair.
But if you really think about it...we haven’t really gotten a chance to hear Jasper’s side of the story. Because Jasper is always against Steven, and the show is (almost) always from his perspective (I say “almost” because if another character tells him a story, its no longer from his perspective: see The Answer and The New Crystal Gems) I think the writers intended to paint Lapis as a victim (which kinda contradicts what I said earlier but idk, I feel like either the writing team was split on how to handle it or they somehow wanted to do both. Because technically, yeah, you can be a victim and an abusor, but like I said earlier the treatment should’ve been given to both characters) but it doesn’t help that there’s been basically no place in the story thus far to include that point in the narrative.
But if Jasper had some kind of redemption arc (which would have to be a pretty damn convincing redemption arc for me to not deem it as cheesy or too easy, but I digress) they could have Jasper talk about her own abuse. Talk about how she felt under Lapis’s control. Yeah Jasper seemed to want her back, but maybe her coming to the realization that her relationship with Lapis is toxic could be part of her redemption arc.
Meanwhile, we see a darker side of Lapis. The manipulation and physical force she used against Jasper to psychologically torture her. As much as it helped the Crystal Gems, and as much as Steven loves Lapis, it wasn’t morally right. And I think it’d be cool to watch Steven dealing with the fact that someone he loves could be so cruel - I mean, he already kind of does that with Rose, but hey, that just means it’d fit into the theme of the show even better.
Lapis doesn’t have to suddenly turn cold or abusive again (although personally I prefer that Lapis, the Lapis that actually made me feel things, over Bob, but whatever) and I’m not sure how she /should/ react to Jasper in this case, but maybe she could come to terms with the fact that she’s done some dark shit. We saw that a little in Alone at sea, but I never feel like she completely acknowledged what she had done because Steven immediately shouted “no! you’re one of the good guys!” and it’d be cool to see that re-acknowledged. Plus, Lapis would finally have something to do, thank god. (Hopefully Peridot can be doing something during this time as well, but idk where she’d fit in)
When it comes to kids shows, once you portray something one way, it’s stuck that way forever. They painted Lapis as a victim; even if they go back and readdress it to make it more clear that there was no single abuser in the relationship, it’s too late to fix those implications now. But at least it’d be cool from a narrative perspective.
