thinking about the squip as an artificial intelligence and creativity.
painters and digital artists who take squips to be better at technical creation, but they never get it quite right. anatomy is just slightly off, eyes a little too big, blurred edges and awkward perspective.
actors who take squips for stage fright knowing all their lines and hitting all their spots but there's something mechanical about it. the way they move is a little too purposeful, they hit their marks a little too hard.
singers who take squips for pitch control, but all of their notes sound slightly off, even if they're using a completely normal voice. they always hit the right note, always project, but there's no soul, no emotion behind it.
photographers who take squips to always have the perfect photo, but their images always come out looking slightly photoshopped, too staged. candids are a thing of the past. everyone's too perfect, caught at the exact right moment, too stock photo.
writers who take squips to make wonderful stories, but their words are a little too close to someone else's, their narrative voice falling to pieces. there's no typos, no rough edges, no heart.
dancers who take squips to always be on beat, but never allow themselves to mark, who always have to full out perform, every time. who do a little too much. who can never make mistakes, sure, but can also never let themselves pull back when they need to.
fabric artists who take squips to create, but find themselves losing the ability to crochet, because the machine never learned how to do it, their stitches falling apart in their laps. they're left with yarn and crochet hooks and a feeling of disappointment.
comedians who take squips to be more successful, funnier, who tell jokes that are funny, that have the right amount of pause for laughter, who statistically should sell, but they lack the personal edge to make it properly.
artists who take squips for other things: for fame, for confidence, for love, for acceptance- finding that their creativity is fading away, entrusted to a machine that can't replicate their humanity and its flaws.

Don’t you just love how Two-Player Game not only highlights the strengths of Jeremy and Michael’s friendship but also the weaknesses of it. Like yeah, it’s a very nice duet in which we see how strong their bond is, but we also see how when Jeremy expresses his desire to not be a loser to Michael, Michael’s way of reassuring him is to tell him to just “wait it out,” essentially. Wait for them to go to college where they’ll be considered cool by their peers. Also telling him how yeah, they may be losers, but at least they have each other (in the lyrics “you’re just a nothing in this high school scheme/but it’s no big cuz you and I are a team.”).
And this is fine, I do think that Michael is genuinely a very good friend to Jeremy and was just trying to reassure him in the same way he likely reassures himself. The thing is that Jeremy doesn’t *want* to wait until college. He’s felt this way for a long time (since middle school began) and he’s tired of waiting years just to be able to feel good about himself. This is important because it leads directly into a big reason as to why Jeremy is so willing to choose the Squip over Michael: because where Michael failed to make him feel better about his future, the Squip succeeded. This probably doesn’t make much sense but I just had to yap about this I love this song so much I love them so much they’re so great I love them

bmc fans are funny because i've never seen anyone SO incredibly defensive of a certain actor's performance. like i will admit that many people tend to critize wr A LOTTTT in favor of wc. but also ... criticizing a broadway actor, who is never going to see these criticisms, and expressing a personal opinion about their performance, is. normal. saying u don't like wr's voice or take on the character is a fine thing to say because a) ur allowed to have opinions and b) i PROMISE u. he DOES NOT care. come on girl

Proposition:
Be More Chill except it's analog horror.
Cw for general analog horror elements because duh
The Squip is a proud member of the uncanny valley and likes to stand in dark corners of rooms like a dick.
Jeremy is having nightmares and going absolutely mental, becoming increasingly more and more paranoid as his mental health fucking plummets.
Michael is freaking out because not only is his friend ignoring him but that same friend is starting to look like a walking corpse.
The Squip escalates it's methods from just verbal taunting and shocking Jeremy to scaring the fuck out of him on purpose. Jeremy locks himself in rooms to escape the voices. The Squip bangs on the door repeatedly for Jeremy to let it inside, making its voice sound like Christine, or Michael, or Jeremy's father, hell, sometimes even his mother, just to mess with him.
The knocking on the door isn't even real, only an auditory hallucination drummed up by the Squip to make Jeremy believe he's in danger. It also makes Jeremy believe he's found a way to hide himself from the danger, he just has to lock the door.
The Squip isn't a real person, it's inside Jeremy's brain, locking the door isn't going to save him.
Atleast the Squip is working though, because Jeremy is officially too scared and too paranoid to step out of line. Not even a little bit.
