Hospitalized, traumatized, and vulnerable, Jeremy Heere has never had an easy life.

Raised by two ill-equipped parents and sporting varied forms of trauma from their neglect and the seemingly limitless cruelty of life around him, he's spent his childhood socially ostracized from his peers, unable to navigate basic human interaction without smacking into a reminder of his own incompetence. Given the chance to change it all, the answer seemed obvious.

But that story is already over, isn't it?

Now he lays, miserable, in a small hospital at the edge of town. Haunted by regrets and budding feelings he doesn't feel entitled to, Jeremy's life is almost certainly worse off now then it was before...

... until he gets a second chance, that is.

This idea actually hit me while writing a divergent fanfic. Heere's the char. roles:

Jeremy - Tris

Michael - Four/Caleb (depending on how you see their relationship)

Christine - Christina (this one's kinda obvious to me)

Brooke - Robert (I know he's more of a side character but I don't see Brooke as anything but amity; also kinda relates to Tris' briefly described feelings for him)

Chloe - Peter (sorry but they're too similar, to me at least)

Jake - Four (I need deere content,,, pl ease,, ) or Zeke

Rich - Max (semi right hand to jeanine) or Uriah

Jenna - Tori

Squip - Jeanine (obviously)

These are just the mains if they were in Divergent (only the first book, though. We aren't going into the clusterfuck that's the rest of the series, especially with char. hcs) but I do have individual headcanons for each of them

I might write this in the future but right now I'm kinda swamped.
