It’s ok, thank you for your apology.
On the note of staying on topic, I pointed out that it’s a business card because it clearly displays the technician’s name and business details. Normally, you’d expect a public figure such as Ji to avoid posting someone’s details to the internet like that to respect the person’s privacy and not indirectly associate himself with their brand or services without pay. He seems detail oriented enough to notice, and it would make sense that he, like Ks blurring the reflection of a spoon in a photo he shared around Chuseok (I believe?), would review photos before sharing them to remove items such as the card for reasons mentioned above.
Why did he not notice and adjust the card away from the photo? Or had he noticed, what could’ve been the intent behind using a card with someone’s details on it so haphazardly? Surely, it couldn’t have been intentional? 😜 I could be reading into this too much but there’s a little detail to add to the ongoing discussion for ya
So what is your final pov?? Can u explain more? You got me confused 😂 what is the detail you can add ?

On Boundary - Pt. 1
💧// angst ⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒⭑⭒
I ran, as fast as I could. The wind whipped past my face, my lungs burned, and my legs felt unstable. I needed to get away from, away from that house. I knew they were behind me, they had to be.
... It was sunlight, the sun was glaring down, the breeze was light, the grass crunched under the wind... no, that's not right. I rolled over, my hands bracing under my chest, and my toes and knees ready to go. When I looked in the direction of the crunching grass I saw a long-haired man. His hands raised slightly from his side. We made eye contact for a second before I bolted.
My eyes caught the blur of 2 other people to my right and my left. As I ducked a low branch and entered a clearing I was shoved to the ground and flipped over. Without even thinking I started screaming, trying to get whoever was on top of me off.
"Calm down, calm down please, we're just trying to help."
Almost on pure instinct I bucked my hips up and kicked my legs out, around the person above me, and brought them down next to me. As the 2 other people caught up to us I just slid back under the shade of a nearby tree.
"Please miss, what's- can you tell us your name?" It was a taller white man; he seemed older than the other 2.
"Did she have to slam me down that hard?" The one that tackled me down was a thin lady, blonde hair.
The man with long hair had approached me and looked at my face, my appearance. I probably looked like death. Running through... wherever here is, without shoes on.
"Here take this, please, you must feel cold." The long-haired man stepped closer, his jacket in his hands.
Right, I forgot to dress appropriately. I reached forward, my hand, well all of me shaking as I grabbed his jacket and slipped it on.
"Th...Thank y...you."
They looked like an odd group; the long-haired man was dressed a bit differently from the other two. Not to mention his face, he seemed almost familiar.
"I'm Sheriff Walt Longmire, this is Mathias he's police chief of the tribal police over on the res, and this is Vic, my deputy." My eyes fluttered around, as the older man spoke, to each person he gestured to, the blonde and the long-haired man.
"Why don't we get you somewhere a little less exposing? What do you say?" Mathias spoke up.
I nodded softly, stood on the balls of my feet, and limped forward, "I guess running barefoot out here isn't a good idea."
"No vine aqui por eleccion. Puedo obtener un poco de ayudu por favor?"
I didn't come out here by choice. Can I get a bit of help, please?
Mathias, Vic, and the sheriff stopped as they heard my hoarse voice, "What- What was that?"
"Are we gonna need a translator?" Vic looked at the sheriff as he walked back towards me.
"Look we'll take her to your station and get her comfortable see if she can tell us anything. But until she says for sure she didn't come from the res, I'm coming with you." Mathias stepped forward, ushering me softly down between a few trees.
The Sheriff and Vic climbed into one an SUV-style vehicle ahead of us and Mathias lead me to his. He helped me climb into the passenger side and then we were off, driving back down the dirt road. I just stared out the window at the passing trees, "Ya' know, if you told us your name it'd help not just us but you too."
"Sabes que mi nombre no me ayudaria." You knowing my name would not help me.
He turned and glanced at me, "If you're in any trouble, scared about someone coming after you, they can help you."
I had to stop talking; I had to stop thinking about myself. It wasn't just me.
When we reached the station in town, I kept my head down, I looked at the cement, like the cracks in it were so fascinating. Getting inside the office, I was met with a new face. She seemed so gentle; her name was Ruby. She handed me a pair of grey sweats and a zip-up to put on.
"You can change over here dear," She lead me away from the other 3 and to a door labeled 'Reading Room.'
I stepped in and pulled off the thin tank top I had on, zipped up the sweater, and then took off the pajama shorts I had on and put on the sweats.
I opened the door and stepped out to see Vic waiting on me, "Sorry, they're just waiting inside here," she led me through the next doorway and I was sat on a couch.
Vic handed me a small glass of water and said she would be back. I looked around the office, wood, wood, and more wood, not to mention bookcases as well as gun cases. Shortly after that, I heard what was supposed to be hushed arguing. I could hear them bicker back and forth, they went on about- about me. I tried to listen but my ears felt like they were full of water.
I had my legs crossed under me when the door pushed open slowly, "We just wanna ask you a few questions. Figure out how to get you home. Now, if there is any way for you to communicate with us, that'd be helpful too." Walt spoke softly as he pulled up a chair to sit in front of me.
I shook my head fervently, "I-I do-don't uhh... remember."
"So she does speak English," Vic commented from the back.
"Could you tell us your name?" Mathias spoke up from behind Walt.
"Usted sabiendo mi nombre no ayudara," I cleared my throat, they can't find me based on just my name, "It won't help you."
"C'mon, it won't hurt to try." Mathias looked so sincere when he said it. I gave in.
"Veaha- Nevaeh. My name is Nevaeh Blackridge."
"Alright Nevaeh that's good, now can you tell us, is Spanish your first language or English?" Walt asked.
"English..." I shouldn't be saying this," We speak Spanish at my home..."
"Ok, Nevaeh, it'd be super helpful if you could tell us what happened last night why we found like that this morning."
I shook my head again, tears in my eyes, "I-I do-don't remember. I-I re-really do-don't. All I-I know is feeling a burning in my chest, and an aching in my legs... it was dark and then it was light..." My eyes snapped open, I didn't even realize they were closed. Tears streaked down my face.
"Nevaeh, we found you 8 miles from the res' boundary. Do you know if you were running to of from there?" Mathias crouched in front of me.
"I-I think so..."
Vic brought over a map of the land near the res' and near where they found me, "We found you here, do think you could get us close as to where to start looking?"
I nodded softly and looked at the words on the map and tried to remember anything told to me before last night, "There... I think"
Mathias and Walt looked at where I pointed and it was close to where they found me but it was still on res' land. They shared a look and then back to me.
"Nevaeh we're gonna take you to the hospital to get checked out ok? It'll be quick, we'll get you some real clothes and some food too." Walt spoke softly.
I shook my head, the tears at bay again, "No I'm fine please..."
"Nevaeh your feet are cut pretty badly. You have cuts up and down your feet as well as your arms. We just wanna make sure you have no other injuries and that these ones get treated." Mathias held his hand out.
I nodded and grabbed his hand.
At the hospital the nurse was sweet, she seemed very genuine. She asked me to undress on a white paper and put on a medical gown. I did as she asked and as I pulled off the sweats I saw newly formed bruises up and down my legs, the same as on my torso when I took the sweater they gave me.
When I stepped out from behind the privacy wall the nurse cleared her throat and apologized for what she had to do next. She photographed the bruises, swabbed my cheek, checked under my fingernails, and then she asked me to lay back on the examination bed. What she did next, I couldn't help but cry.
As she finished she sealed up some bags as well as envelopes and sent them out of the room. She dressed the more serious of my cuts and wrapped the bruises around my torso, something about a bruised rib. When she left the room she told me the doctor would be in shortly. I nodded and she handed me a tissue. I looked at the room I was sat in, it was so clean... there were posters of the different body parts and health warnings.
When a man walked in I'm assuming to be the doctor, he smiled solemnly, "Hi Nevaeh, I'm Doctor Weston. I have a few results I wanna share with you and some questions I wanna ask you."
"Do you have any friends or family the sheriff could call?"
I shook my head; he's not looking.
"Nevaeh, some of the injuries you suffered indicate that someone did this to you. You don't have to protect them anymore."
"I'm not... I just... can't remember."
"Before I release you, we got an early result back that shows you may have been pregnant recently."
My breath hitched in my throat, "I-I ... My baby didn't make it... I used to do a lot of gymnastics... High stress sport and I didn't know how far along I was... My stupidity." It was what I told myself all the time; it sounded true.
"Alright, Nevaeh. I'll let them know outside you're ready."
After the doctor left it was a few minutes before Vic entered. She brought a change of clothes and fresh undergarments and some shoes. She left the room and let me change, had me come out when I was done. They were just down the hallway from the door.
"So we're gonna take you back to the station till we can find you a place to stay," Walt spoke.
"When we get to the station... can I talk to you guys." They were actually trying to help; maybe they could help me.
Mathias and Walt exchanged a looked and then nodded. Back at the station, I was sat back on the couch; the sun was getting ready to set.
"What's on your mind, Nevaeh?" Mathias asked, his arms crossed as he leaned against Walt’s desk.
"Look, I do want your help but, I don't remember. What I do remember is that he wouldn't let me outside, and I can't forget the smell."
Mathias sighed, "Nevaeh, I'm sorry but, that doesn't help us."
"I'm saying if you can get me there, I can tell you whether or not I was there."
Walt and Mathias agreed it would be better if they worked it together, and as for where I would be staying, they didn't know if whoever left me in the woods would try looking for me so they sent me to a mutual friend.
Mathias drove down the road, the night sky looking beautiful, lit with stars.
"So, where am I going?"
"It's a bar, the owner has an apartment upstairs. Henry is a good man, you can trust him. He'll check on you a few times to make sure you're comfortable. He can be a bit serious but, that's him being friendly."
"Got it. Uhm... so tomorrow, are we gonna go back and check the woods where you guys found me?"
"No. We are, you are going to stay with Henry, get better. Try and remember anything you can about last night."
I sighed in defeat; if I was going to find them, I would have to do it on my own.
Arriving at the bar, it looked just like a roadside barn on the outside. A man a bit taller than Mathias walked towards the SUV. As I hobbled out he offered to help me, "Thanks."
"Mathias tells me you need a place to stay." Henry smiled softly.
"She'll be okay here for a few days?" Mathias asked as he rounded the hood.
"She'll be fine."
"Will you be back?" I asked as Mathias turned back to the SUV.
"... Yeah. Walt or I will be back tomorrow to check on you; let you know what we come up with." Mathias nodded.
Henry led me up the steps, slowly, to the apartment entrance. He let me comfortable. He showed me where everything was and offered me dinner. I said I just wanted to rest after being poked and prodded all day. He nodded and said he'd just be downstairs. He said I could ring him at the bar if I needed anything, to not go outside unless it was important.
I laid on the bed letting my body rest, my side ached, and my muscles burned. I wished I could remember what happened, but all I could think about was laughter... Cutesy, little giggly, laughter.
My eyes snapped open when I heard the doorknob jiggle. I rolled over to the far side of the bed and onto the floor. The space was small, so was I. When the door opened the lights turned on and all I could see were the boots of the person who entered. My mind was going a mile a second; I couldn't hear anymore. It was like my ears were full of water again. mysterious boots rushed around the room and then stopped. My eyes widened, and I tried to hold my breath. The person who came in dropped to the floor and I nearly screamed.
I scouted myself deeper under the bed, and against the wall the headboard rested against. Henry disappeared from my sight; my mind was racing, my chest was pounding, I couldn't breathe. The next thing I knew, I saw Mathias; he was reaching out towards me, saying something.
I reached out slowly and grabbed his hand; he carefully slid me out of my hiding spot and to his chest. The look on his face and Henry's; I just broke down. The ugly sob that left my throat, The tears that ran like waterfalls down my cheeks. It wasn't pretty, but pain never is.
It took me a minute to calm down, to get my breathing back to normal, to slow the tears and my heart. When I did, I felt embarrassed, "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause such a -be a hassle. I didn't even mean to doze off. and the door- it scared me. I just panicked-"
"Nevaeh. It's ok. It's alright. Henry was just coming to check on you. He didn't mean to scare you." Mathias cradled my face and looked me over.
"I am truly sorry, I should have announced myself before I opened the door." Henry looked ashamed.
"Nevaeh, breathe. Just take a breath in and out."
It took me a good while to calm down and before Mathias let go. He sat me on the bed and pulled up a chair from the table, "Nevaeh, I need to ask you just a few more questions."
I just nodded, my fingers picking at one another.
"Doc estimated you were around your late 20's, you're 5'4" yet you're small enough to fit under that bed."
"And? What are you asking?"
"Nevaeh, I'm trying to figure out how far back we need to look for possible kidnappings-"
"Mathias, all I remember is the inside of that house and looking out one window wishing I could be outside."
"Ok, Nevaeh, you should try getting some actual rest. Henry, let her know when you open that door." Mathias gathered a few things and headed for the door.
"Vaeha- you can call me Vaeha."
Both of them nodded and Mathias left through the door. Henry brought me a glass of water, shuffling a few things around here and there.
"Uhh- Henry, do you think you could stay up here with me... I feel like I'm too jumpy to be left alone."
Henry nodded and gave a quiet of course. He went to finish locking up downstairs and I settled back in, seated on the bed. I fiddled with the bandage wrapped around my calf, zoned out. The silence of being on the roadside was peaceful. Every once in a while I could hear Henry moving around downstairs, putting stuff away.
When he came back upstairs, we settled into a slightly uncomfortable silence. I could never sleep by myself. Especially in a different place, I've never been anywhere else.
"Vaeha, if I may? Did you know who was hiding you all this time?"
"Uhh... Not really, I mean it wasn't like I was born and never let out. My childhood was pretty, well kind of normal. Then one day, my dad said 'I can't let the world take you from me too', he was so paranoid. Sometime later another man joined him..."
"I'm sorry, that sounds rather troubling."
"I got used to it. I stopped asking to go outside. I took advantage of the one window I had access to. It wasn't easy or fun, but I ... lived."
The next morning I found a new stack of clothing and a note from Henry;
Went into town, should be back by noon Help yourself to something to eat and a shower. -Henry
I showered first, basked in the hot water. It felt good to get clean. After getting out of the shower I threw on the jeans and tank top that were left for me. I grabbed the zip-up from the bed and looked at the time. 10:30. I didn't feel hungry but I did feel like getting some air. They didn't want me going outside but I wanted more than just opening a window.
Fuck it.
I pulled on the shoes I had and left the apartment. I walked to the tree line behind the bar and took several deep breathes. I took a seat and threw myself back into the foliage. I stared up at the morning sky, the treetops, and the clouds.
I heard the familiar hum of an SUV and just closed my eyes, "Vaeha? Vaeha, what are you doing out here?"
"What does it look like, Mathias. I'm getting fresh air, I'm focusing on breathing."
"You could open a window." He sounded frustrated.
"Why don't you come focus with me. You seem a little irritated."
He huffed and crouched next to me. "Ya know when what I was stuck inside all that time, all I had was a window. Now I have the option to go outside... I'm gonna sit out here. If I die, I die."
"Look, I am a little irritated, but it just feels like we're going in circles... and I can't shake this feeling that I should know you, your face."
I chuckled a bit, "Tell me about it, my memory feels like a swirling drain that won't empty. Just round and round it goes. Not to mention you. The second I saw your face, it seemed familiar."
"Oh so it's not just me?"
I shook my head, "Nope. I appreciate that you're worried and you want to help me."
Mathias stayed with me for a bit as I dozed off under the sun. When Henry got back we dusted ourselves off and I headed back up to the apartment. Mathias looked torn, they were really trying to help. I didn't even tell him or Henry that I recognized this bar...
Henry came up and asked if I was hungry and I nodded. He led me into the bar and made us both lunch.
Henry cleared his throat as he sat down with me, "I don't mean to pry, but how is Mathias with you?"
"Erm... He's nice, he seems genuinely sincere about helping me. Why?"
Henry looked at me with an honest smile, "Mathias is very much about our people, and knowing that you may be from the res' he feels the sense to right that wrong. Then there's how the two of you look at each other."
His words caught in my throat as I chewed. I coughed and looked at him quizzically, "What? I don't- Mathias and I don't look at each other anyway."
"Vaeha, I'm not blind. The others may be oblivious to it but not I. Mathias wouldn't care as much as he does, come here in the middle of the night if he didn't care. He also does not usually work cases with Walt."
"So what are you saying? Should I be careful? Should I not trust him-"
"No no- I'm saying you should definitely trust him. Let him in, let him help you." Henry said earnestly.
I chuckled a bit at his words, "Henry when you're hidden from the world. Told that everything and anything will try to stomp out the flame you have inside; trusting people doesn't come easy."
"I can see it in your eyes, for you, trusting him is easier than you think."
"I don't think I like being read like a book, please stop." I chuckled.
Henry lifted his hand as he took my empty plate, "I didn't mean to overstep, I just think it'd be good for you to have someone you can have there for you."
"Wouldn't that be crossing a line... I mean I'm a victim." Calling myself that didn’t feel right, I didn’t feel like one...
"It's technically Walt's case, Mathias and his department don't have to funds to handle a case like yours."
"Are you encouraging me- us- whatever you're reading into."
He chuckled but didn't give an answer. I rolled my eyes, told him I was heading back up to the apartment and to bed. Still tired from yesterday.
I put on the pajamas Henry had brought me from town and laid on the bed, my back facing the door. I dozed off, the sound of Henry opening his bar and the chatter of people below, lulled me to sleep.
My eyes snapped open, the sound of giggling ringing in my ears. I rolled over slowly, scanned the room, and didn't see anything, I didn't see Henry either. I could still hear the noise of people downstairs, he's still open.
I stood from the bed, my breath hitched, and my muscles ached. I couldn't hear the noise anymore, the dullness was back. Just on instinct, I start moving; I walked out of the apartment. I walked down the steps and down the road. I walked through the opposing treeline till I heard the sound of water sloshing. It broke through the dullness I looked up from the dirt path and saw water. I've been here before. My legs gave out from under me, landing me just inches from the water.
"The sky is so pretty..."
When I woke up in the morning I knew I was in trouble. I could hear my name being called out, "Mierda."
I slowly dusted myself off, some of the mud proving rather stubborn now dried. I hobbled my way up to the tree line towards the dirt path when I ran into Henry, "Fuck!"
"Vaeha, what happened to you? Where have you been?"
"I uhh-"
"There you are!" I heard their voices in unison.
"Ah shit." I dropped my head.
Walt and Mathias practically jumped on me when they caught up, "Wanna tell us what you were doing out here? You were gone all night, you know how dangerous that was!?"
"What Mathias- I had a... a weird dream... I heard something, and I took a- midnight stroll. I'm sorry."
"Midnight stroll? Nevaeh, do you know how far you are from the Red Pony?" Walt asked as he handed me a clean jacket.
"Wha- isn't it just through the trees right here?"
They all looked at each other and then at me, "No, Vaeha, what kind of a dream did you have that led you out here?"
"Well, I just heard laughter, and I figured that I was either crazy or something and you all were busy so I'd just take a walk."
Walt's other deputy came up beside him and told him he had a call. He walked a few steps away and took it.
"Vaeha you can't keep doing stuff like this, you know that right?"
"Why Mathias, does it make me look suspicious?"
He didn't say anything to object to it and I just stared at him, "Really? Oh, didn't know the battered woman you found shattered to pieces could look that suspicious."
I stepped around him, that hurt more than I thought it would. As I hobbled back down the dirt path Walt stopped me.
"I think there's something you need to see."
"What?"

It’s Purgatory Time!
Warning: Death, cursing. If you are not comfortable with any of these subjects, either proceed with caution or click away.
^^^ The image up there are the characters, but Y/n, This is how I had her dress and how I imagined how she would look like.
Main Characters: Y/n L/n (Reader) Rico Brzenska, Yuuto Takahashi (OC) Daniel Stephenson (OC)
“Rico-Hancho!” A cadet screamed out. The small woman groaned as the titan gripped her body
“Damn! I can’t breathe!” She panicked. The titan looked closely at the woman. Expecting it to eat her, Rico drew her sword attempting to fight one more time. Instead, the titan gripped her harder before tossing her like a rag doll. Her body limps as she rolled down the hill. Each stone hitting her felt like spikes piercing her skin. Finally stopping, she laid there in pain,
“ I. . . have to keep fighting! I can’t stop now!” She panted. Trying to move one of her limbs felt like her body was being ripped apart. The pain surged through her veins as she tried to get up. Her eyes felt heavy and her vision started to blur. She felt her heart rate decrease.
“No…. I can’t die. Not yet.” She thought, gripping the emblem on her breast-pocket. As the blood seeped through her clothes, the thick red liquid painted the ground beneath her. She coughed out blood and tears pricked the corner of her eyes. Slowly her eyelids drooped and finally, she drew out her last breath.

Beep. . . Beep . . . Beep
The sound of chatter and a constant beeping was enough to wake her up. Bright white ceilings and strange glass contraptions made of glass blinded her blurry vision.
“Oh, glad to see you up. Hope ya had a nice nap.” said a masculine voice. Rico squinted at the figure in front of her. He picked up a small framed pair of silver glasses and held it out for her. Rico sat up while taking her glasses and looked around. She gasped seeing familiar faces.
Everyone who was thought to be dead. They were right in front of her, all in white clothing and wrapped in bandages.
“Rico? What happened?” A familiar voice piped up. Rico yelled at the sighted of her formally deceased friend. Ian Dietrich, the Ian who got his head chopped off was there. Well . . . part of him. Right now, he was just a head on a neck and a small part of his shoulders.
“I-Ian?” She stuttered.
“Rico? Is that you?” Her other friend Mitabi called out at the bed next to her. Half of him looked ok and the other half looked flatter than a piece of paper. “Hey, Rico. How’d you end up here?”
“Wh-what? A-am I dead? Where am I?” Rico faltered, “Is this the afterlife?”
“Eh, more or less.” The black-haired male said as he picked up a clipboard and stood up.
“My names Yuuto by the way. You’ll have to wait for my work bros to get here so they can tell you the info you need.” He added before walking off.
“W-work . . . bro?” She muttered to herself.
“Apparently, it’s a term called “slang” from where he’s from.” A male voice clarified. There he was, Freckled Jesus himself, Marco Bodt, bandaged up and half his body missing. “By the way, you’re in the purgatory hospital.”
“Purgatory? So I’m dead?” She questioned. The clicking of heels grew louder as a small woman with (H/C) hair and heterochromatic eyes marched in.
“Affirmative!” chirped the small woman. Her gloved hand held up a pink and blue clipboard.
“But, possibly not for long,” said the woman. “You see, you’re a special case. Since your body wasn’t too injured and nobody saw you die. You should be perfectly good to go home in a few hours!”
“Wait, I’m going back after I die?” she asked, confused.
“Yep! You are a soldier! And all soldiers, warriors, fighters etc, etc, go to this reserved heaven where they live the rest of your afterlife. Unfortunately, that place is lacking space for everyone and you have some unfinished business to attend to.” The woman explained. Rico examined herself. She no longer had the small scratches or bruises made when she rolled down the hill, it looked like it never happened at all. And more importantly, the gash on her body was gone and what was left was a pink scar running down her stomach.
“Now you just have to wait for your check-up with Dr Daniel Stephenson. However, he is with another patient right now so we have a bit of time in our hands.” Said the woman, grabbing a chair and sitting next to the silver-haired woman. Crossing her leg and placing the clipboard on the nightstand, she turned to the woman and smiled. “How are you feeling? Do you have any questions? My name is (Y/N) (L/N) it is a pleasure to meet you.”
“Likewise, it is a pleasure to meet you too,” said Rico. “And yes, I do have questions, What exactly is this place?”
“You are at Purgatory Hospital. This is the place where the people who died in battle go to recover from their injuries before going into soldier heaven, and as I said you have unfinished business to attend to in your universe.”
“Business? Universe? There are other universes and this supposed heaven is lacking space?” Rico pondered. The (H/C)-coloured woman nodded.
“Yes, unfortunately, there are too many people dying on the battlefield, and it is too much for soldier heaven to adjust to the rapid increase of the population, and your universe is not the only one, this place is connected to various universes in different timelines.”
“Well how exactly do you get here and how do you go back?” asked Rico.
“You get here by dying, your spirit floats itself into the hospital for treatment, If your body is intact you’ll be able to heal quickly, however, if a part of your body is missing, it’s a different story. For example what happened to your friend Ian.” said (Y/N) motioning to Ian’s disembodied head. “You have to wait so we can regenerate the rest of your body, but it also comes with conditions.”
“Conditions?” Rico asked. (Y/N) nodded.
“Yes, because of your replacements, there are side effects that relate to your death. For example, the scar on your stomach shows the fatal wound that leads you to your passing.” She explained.
“Alright, but what exactly are you? Are you some sort of nurse or doctor?” Rico speculated. The woman in front of her laughed.
“I guess something similar, but not in the medical field.” She explained. “I am a doctor in the scientific field, but I am here to explain to you what is happening, so you don’t go crazy or anything like that.”
Just at that moment a tall two-toned man with a lab coat and an eye patch over his right eye walked into the room and stopped in front of Rico.
“Are you Ms Rico Brzenska?” The man asked. Rico nodded.
“Good! I’m Doctor Daniel Stephenson, and I am here to your physical exam to see if you are ready to go,” said Daniel, putting on his stethoscope, and placing it on her chest. He continued the exam. Writing the last bit of a sentence down, Daniel smiled at Rico.
“Good news, you’ll be able to go home now! You just need to sign here and (Y/n) will bring you home.” He said, pointing to a line with an x on the side. Rico took the pen and wrote down her name. Daniel smiled and motioned for (Y/n).
“Little lamb, she’s ready to go home, you can take her now.” the two-toned male smiled.
“Aye-aye captain.” (Y/n) smiled, turning to the silver-haired woman. “Well, Miss Rico. Follow me and we’ll give you a change of clothes and we can bring you home in a jiffy.”
(Y/n) lead the silver-haired woman thorough a hallway and to a door with a metal plate saying “Belongings space” She opened the door and let themselves in. The inside was fairly big and had clothing racks that stretched miles and miles far. Each rack was labelled with numbers and titles. The scientist led Rico to a rack that was labelled “Titan Universe: Garrison soldiers”
“It should be around here somewhere . . .” she said sifting through the countless racks of uniforms. “And . . . Here it is!”
The small scientist pulled out a familiar uniform, handing it to Rico she leads the woman into a changing station.
“You can change here, call me when you’re done.” (y/n) said as she closed the curtain giving Rico the privacy she needs.
Rico stared at her uniform. She noticed that her name was hand-sewn into the back of her collar. Stripping herself of the grey clothing she was provided with and changed back into the familiar uniform. Once she had finished changing she moved the curtain and saw the scientist waiting for her.
“Good! You’re done!” she beamed. Grabbing her by the wrist she led Rico out to a room with a variety of sharp objects. All a variety of scissors to swords and spears. There were also large platforms and machines next to them. Everything was interesting but what piqued her interest was this one platform with what looked like a big hole in the air.
“Alrighty Rico, You just need to step into the portal and you should be in the forest close to the walls!” She explained, “Also, don’t mention this place to anyone yet. Okay, Bye Bye!”
“Huh?” Rico asked before she was shoved into the bright portal. A flash of blue light surrounded her before landing on the green ground. Groaning, she got up and dusted herself off.
“She could have at least told me first.” Rico thought to herself. Seeing that there were no titans she jogged closer to Wall Rose.
Two garrison soldiers were talking amongst each other on top of the wall when they spotted a small figure jogging to the walls.
“Holy Shit! It’s team leader Rico! Tell them to open the gate!” One of them yelled. The gate soon rose from the ground letting Rico pass through. She was soon surrounded by her comrades asking her questions left and right.
“Rico! Thank the walls! Good to have you back!” Hannes shouted passing through the crowd with Kitz.
“It's a miracle that you survived out there without your gear." A soldier praised in awe,
"Yeah. . . survived...." Rico mumbled under her breath.
"It's commander Pyxis!" A soldier shouted. The bald man came through the crowd and stopped in front of the small woman. Rico saluted and Pyxis chuckled.
"At ease. Rico. You should go and freshen up. You must have been through a lot it there with no gear, you have my permission to take the rest of the day off." Pyxis insisted.
"Thank you, Commander. You're too kind." she thanked. The male nodded and left, leaving Rico to her own devices. Eventually, everyone else left and she went back to her room. Once there she closed the door behind her and went to sit in her chair. She leaned her head into her hands and began to think about everything that has happened,
"They'll be back. Everyone who died. Who got eaten, squished killed by the titans. . . They're going to come back..." Rico thought she had very mixed feelings about this. She was happy that her comrades would come back to her, but does she really want them to go back to this hellhole? Just so they can die again? She didn't know.
Rico sighed and got out of her uniform, changing into her nightwear and went to bed. She closed her eyes and let the darkness of slumber take her.

prompt: rhett walks in on link in a compromising position (aka butt stuff) and can't stop thinking about it
Here ya go, Anon! Some good ol college rhink :)
Rhett swiped his key card into his residence hall and made his way back to his dorm, happy to be free from the grips of history, calculus and structural dynamics-- at least for the day. And there was a family-sized bag of pepperoni pizza rolls in his dorm mini fridge calling his name, which made things just a little more tolerable.
With a quick turn of the key, Rhett pushed his way into the room only to be shocked out of his pizza-flavored daze by a shrill "Rhett! Wait!" echoing off the painted bricks of their dorm, a flash of bare skin, then a comforter, and finally wood grain directly in front of his own face after he pulled the door back shut in a panic.
What. The fuck. Was that.
Rhett's legs took him right back down the hallway he came from on their own accord as his mind desperately tried to catch up to what he just saw.
Link. Buck naked. Hands and knees on the bed, backing onto a bright blue thing attached to the wall like his life depended on it.
In my bunk.
Link. Fucking himself. Right? With a sex toy? With something. So he's gay? No, he doesn't have to be. He's doing it on my bed. He's doing it on my freaking bed.
Rhett walked briskly towards the library. He needed someplace quiet and free of distractions so he could process everything. Renting a study room for an hour seemed like it would do.
Rhett dropped his backpack to the ground and folded himself down onto the soft chair, his face in his hands. How was he supposed to go back to his dorm now? Can he? Link has to be mortified.
Wouldn't be surprised if he's filing for different housing arrangements this very moment.
They've seen each other naked in locker rooms. They've requested privacy for some self-care. There have even been a few nights where Rhett would wake up to the top bunk gently shaking with, no doubt, the movement of Link's hand moving over his dick. But this was a whole different beast. This wasn't just catching your best friend jacking off.
Or was it? If this is how Link prefers to get his rocks off, is it really that different? Just because he's riding a wall-mounted rubber dick in--in my bed. Shit. Why? Why is that the one thing I can't get past?
Rhett let wishful thinking get in the way of logic. But he couldn't let the thought slide.
Maybe it's because he wishes it were me.
Rhett peered over as his backpack buzzed once, then again seconds later. It had to be Link. He dug through the pockets until he found his phone, complete with several new messages flashing on his screen.
Link:
Please don't think im
some degenerate
or pervert
Link:
We can talk about
this, I can explain.
theres alot I need to
explain
Link:
Just come back soon
idk what you're doing and
I'm freaking out and
I don't wanna lose you
over a stupid choice I made
Link:
Rhett?
Link:
If ur mad I get it. I'd
be mad too. Be furious,
I deserve it. But please
bo I don't wanna screw us up
Link:
Just come back home
Link:
Rhett…
Rhett had to read through the messages three times before giving up, realizing he couldn't get the mental image out of his head no matter how much he tried. He owed Link a response, that much was sure.
But the way Link was riding that thing was replaying over and over in his head, taking up all the mental facilities he had to spare. His shaggy black hair falling over his eyes. His thighs spread wide, back arched, hands digging into the comforter, desperate for something to hold on to. Jaw slack, eyes shut, moans breaking through his ragged breaths, absolutely railing himself with the toy.
Or maybe his mind was supplementing all those extra details for him.
Shit.
Rhett tried to ignore the growing tension in his abdomen as he picked his phone back up.
Rhett:
It's ok. We're fine
I promise. Be home in 15
Rhett didn't want Link to panic, but he needed just a little more time. At least his life-long best friend wasn't packing his bags, never to be heard from again. But now there were more issues right behind that, and the main one sitting in his lap begged to be attended to as soon as possible.
Rhett had fucked his hand to the thought of Link before; He was no stranger to it. Hearing Link shudder and choke back moans late at night when he thought he wouldn't be heard had spurred on many a hard climax for Rhett. If he were not so emotionally invested in this friendship, this would be the ultimate fodder for his bank of mental jack-off material, neatly filed under L for Link which sat locked tight away from the sections of his brain meant for reality. But aside from his fantasies, this was his best friend. His platonic life partner. And this was about to become a lengthy conversation, an unearthing of dusty skeletons hidden in their closets. And possibly a reevaluation of their friendship and where they now stand.
Turns out Link wasn't the only one who had things to get off their chest.
Rhett checked the time and glanced over at the small window of the heavy steel door. He had only a few short minutes to sort out his own issue so he could face Link with a clear mind.
Propping his backpack onto the arm of the chair beside him to block the view of any curious passerbys, Rhett shoved down the front waist of his sweatpants and pulled his already hard cock out, wasting no time in giving himself a few firm strokes from base to tip. He let his head fall back and rest on the wall as he worked himself over, twisting his wrist on every pull as images of Link flashed back to his mind even more vivid than before.
This time, Link was in front of him. Resting on his hands and knees, his perfect little ass poised and ready. He looks back over his shoulder, his expression of need so strong, it looks as if he could cry.
"Please," Link pants out, barely a whisper. "Please Rhett. I need you. Been wanting this for so long. Fuck me. C'mon, please."
Rhett let out a soft moan as his hand sped up, giving himself completely over to the fantasy.
"I got you, baby. Don't worry. I'm gonna fuck you real good." Rhett whispered to the ceiling, rolling his hips as he worked his hand even faster.
"That little toy of yours can't fuck you back like I can, huh? That what you were doing in my bunk? Thinkin' of me? Wishing it were me fillin' you up like this?" Rhett moaned to the quiet room, his hand almost a blur on his cock as he chased his orgasm, his toes curling hard in his shoes.
Rhett came hard with a whisper of Links name on his lips, his free hand pooling the ropes of come pulsing out of his cock as he thrust his hips to ride out the last waves of pleasure his body had to offer.
For once, Rhett was thankful of the dirty gym clothes he had stuffed in the bottom of his backpack, using the shirt to wipe off his hands and half-hard cock before stuffing himself back into his sweatpants.
He checked his phone. 6 minutes left. Just in time for him to make it back to his dorm as promised.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
I KNOW, I know. I'm leaving y'all on a cliffhanger. But maybe that means there will be a part 2? 🤔
Hope you enjoyed this, Anon! And I hope everyone else does as well! :)

Conquer your fear! - Part 1
"Verena, get back here!"
A string of giggles escaped the small tiefling whose tail was nearly as long as they were tall. The tiefling dashed this way and that through the caravan, gigging every time the woman called out for them.
"Verena!"
The small body collided with another, causing the other to stumble as the tiefling fell backwards to land on their butt. A shout went up as the person the child had ran into yanked the tiefling back up and out of the way of the cart.
"Watch where yer playin', ya damn brat!" the driver barked.
The small body cowered in the protective embrace of a body not much bigger.
"Soren? What'chya got there?"
"Don' know, da'," the body holding the tiefling offered. "Ne just ran into me."
"Verena! There you are!"
The little tiefling flinched as rough hands pulled nem away from the other and a started cry escaped the little form. "Shush, Verena," came from the parent, chastising. "I'm so sorry Stoick. Is Soren alright?"
"I'm fine." The little tiefling looked over, meeting the curious gaze of a human child that was barely older than the tiefling child. A small voice in the little tiefling's mind spoke of how the human's eye color was wrong somehow. The human child didn't seem to notice or didn't care as it offered a hand like all the grownups do to strangers. "I'm Soren."
"Go on, Verena. Shake neir hand like a good boy."
The tiefling's lavender tail came around, a splotch of pale coloring like a paint splatter discoloring the tip. Said tip pressed into the offered palm and despite the chastising from the adults, Verena thought it was worth it to see the laughter that broke out across Soren's too grown up face.
"We'll be heading east at Alnrich."
Verena's tail slowly fell from its perked posture even as he felt Soren's body go tense under him. They were trying to sneak through the caravan as young children do playing whatever game they had made but they had heard Soren's dad and Verena's parents' voices drifting towards them in the night and had gotten curious. Soren had crouched at the back wheel of one of the wagons while Verena clung to his back still smaller than the other.
Verena buried his face into Soren's hair. It smelled of smoke and earth and held a comfort that made his heart ache at losing. His tail followed his emotions and wrapped securely around Soren's waist. The other rubbed comforting circles into the tail against neir stomach but didn't move.
"So soon?" Verena's mother asked.
There was a scoff from his father. "Let them leave if they want, Ilma. It is not our place to convince them to stay."
A rumble of a chuckle came from Soren's dad. "Soren will most likely fight me. We've stayed too long and ne's grown attached to Verena and the others."
"Is that such a bad thing?" Verena's mother asked.
"Whether it is or isn't doesn't change the fact that we have stayed too long. We will part ways at Alnrich."
"May the tides bring us back together."
Verena's mother added at the end of his father's words, "And may the winds bring you peace."
"Thank you, both of you."
"Hang on tight, Ren."
Verena jolted as Soren's sudden voice but did as coaxed. Soren dashed away from their parentals and deeper into the trees. They didn't go very far - they were still within the light of the main campfire - but it was far enough that if they didn't talk overly loud, they'd have privacy. Soren pulled at Verena's tail and hand, a silent sign to get down and in front of nem.
"I don't want you to go," Verena choked out, doing his best to keep his voice down. He pressed his face into Soren's chest and felt himself relaxing at the warmth he always found there.
Soren's arms, just as warm, wrapped around him. "I don't want to go either but Dad says its important to keep moving until home finds us."
Verena pulled his face away enough to look up at Soren, making his yellow eyes as big and watery as possible. "But isn't this home?"
Soren smiled. It was soft and left Verena thinking it was too grown up to be on Soren's face. "I think Dad wants a house that doesn't move, with fields and animals to tend. I don't think he ever wanted to be part of a traveling caravan."
Verena's arms tightened around Soren; his tail had hooked around Soren's left ankle. "What about you? Where do you wanna be?"
Soren shrugged. "With Dad. He's all I got left."
Something bitter and hot shot through him. "But what about me? I'm your family too."
That grown up face Soren had gotten so good at wearing fell away as hot tears - they hurt when they touched Verena's cooled skin but it was nothing the tiefling couldn't stand - streaked down the other's face. "But I can't leave my Dad. Verena-"
Something broke inside the little tiefling as whatever was supposed to follow his name was cut off by a vicious sob. Verena pulled at Soren and wrapped himself as best he could around the bigger kid. Soren held on, heat rolling off the other in a way that terrified Verena without him understanding why.
Stoick was the one that found them like that. The man's bushy face softened at Verena's pleading gaze and welcomed the gentle touch to his head as Stoick's other hand went to Soren's back. "Come on, kiddo. It's bedtime."
"Don' wanna go," Soren spat out into the mingling of their bodies.
"I know. But it won't be forever. Just a for now. Ok? You'll see Verena again."
Something like ice shot through Verena. He knew that wording. He glared at Soren's dad with all his might even as Soren pulled away enough to look up at neir dad. "Promise?"
Stoick smiled. Verena's hold on Soren tightened. "Promise. Come on, kiddo."
Every fiber of Verena's being was calling Stoick a liar as he let Soren slip from his grasp.
"Ren?"
Yellow eyes snapped away from those he was sitting with to lock onto a pair of eyes on a human face that weren't quite right.
"Do I know you?" he found himself asking even as the strings bit into his fingers; he was clenching the neck of his lute like it was a lifeline. His vision blurred only to clear when he blinked.
Why was he crying?
"Ah, sorry," the human with the off eyes offered. "You looked like an old friend of mine I haven't seen in years."
"Someone named Ren?"
The words were past his lips before he could stop them. There was something deep within him that was begging this human to say no, to say-
"His full name is Verena, but last I had seen him we were nothing but tots."
He choked on a sob, curling in on himself as his free hand snapped to his mouth. His tail with its pale tip came up and around, like it could add another layer of protection from whatever was pulling at him, drowning him in grief.
He heard his companions shout his name, knew this stranger knew his name now, but he couldn't face nem, couldn't even look at nem.
Someone tried to approach him.
He stumbled out of his chair, the lute slamming into his gut painfully. It didn't stop him from turning and fleeing the inn.
He didn't expect to find a temple. It looked lively despite the state the temple itself was in. It looked old, probably more ancient than anything else he had ever seen, but where he would normally be drawn in by the possibility of learning its history, he turned away at the thought of interacting with anyone. Instead, he slowly made his way over to the pond while staying within the trees.
He shouldn't be surprised he had been followed but neither footfall sounded familiar.
Turned out one of the footfall belonged to the human with the off eyes. Behind nem was one of the human's companions - the one with the interesting staff - but the companion didn't approach like the human did.
"Can I join you?"
He turned away, tail wrapping around him on the ground as he did so.
For a moment, there was silence. He relished in it for as long as it lasted and nearly drifted off before he felt warmth at his back. There wasn't any pressure of a human hand on his back but he knew there was one there, a few inches above his thin shirt. Why had he taken his gear off again?
"Your hair's longer than I remember." A breath. "But, then, that's to be expected. It has been almost twenty five years."
He couldn't help the snort that escaped him. "Then how do you know I'm you're friend. I'm probably too young to even have been alive twenty five years ago."
"Because I remember the pattern of your tail; the paint splatter of pale that colored the tip and stretched up the length of your tail." His tail tightened around him. "Because I remember your laugh even if its deepened from age, I remember how strikingly pale you looked standing next to your parents with lavender skin so soft it seemed almost incomplete with the pale patches." That hand that had been hovering high between his shoulder blades pressed into the back of his neck. "And I remember how small you had been when you first ran into me from among the wagons."
The hand was unnaturally warm but it pulled at things he couldn't remember. He leaned into the touch as a different sob pulled at him, bitter and sad and tired. "But I can't even remember if I had parents, let alone my childhood." He offered this strange human - so warm and familiar and strange - a tight smile. "How am I supposed to remember who you even are if I don't know who I am?"
The human smiled gently at him. "Then we'll start anew." The hand left the back of his neck and he swallowed down the urge to whimper. The human offered a hand to shake. "I'm Soren."
"I'm Soren."
He looked over, meeting the curious gaze of a human child that was barely older than he was. A small voice in his mind spoke of how the human's eye color was wrong somehow. The human child didn't seem to notice or didn't care with a hand offered like all the grownups do to strangers.
"Go on, Verena," a voice he couldn't remember but ached from hearing coaxed. "Shake neir hand like a good boy."
He didn't want to. He didn't trust any of the others of the caravan - the other kids skittered away any time he had wandered too close - so he went with the better option. He brought his tail around, a splotch of pale coloring like a paint splatter discoloring the tip. Said tip pressed into the offered palm and despite the chastising he knew was coming, Verena thought it was worth it to see the laughter that broke out across Soren's too grown up face.
He sucked in a breath, fumbling away from the strange human even as he realized his tail had moved on its own accord. The pale tip of his tail was stark against the strange human's palm and despite the joy he saw flicker across the strange human's face, he yanked his tail free. He wondered if the glimpse of disappointment was his own reflected back at him as Soren pulled on a mask of patience, hand still extended.
He swallowed thickly and reached out, giving a firm handshake even as he trembled. "Verena."
"How long have you been playing?"
Verena looked up as Soren settled beside him. Their two parties had been traveling together for over two weeks now and this was the first time Soren had sought Verena out when he was alone. Verena shrugged. "Long enough to have it ingrained into every fiber of my being," he offered easily enough. "Still don't remember much of my history despite..."
The last two weeks - the reasons why the two parties were now tangled and how memories weren't always the most pleasant coming back - went unsaid.
Soren hummed, as if ne understood.
They sat at the edge of the camp together, backs to the fire, and Verena suddenly had an inkling of why Soren was there. "I thought Soala was joining me for first watch."
Soren shrugged. "Apparently Aelfwyne needed her for something so I got volunteered."
He found himself raising an eyebrow at the other. "Why didn't you say no?"
Another shrug. "Soala was taking third watch for me in turn so I didn't think much of it till after the fact."
"Ah."
Silence stretched between them broken only by Verena's unconscious plucking of the lute strings.
He nearly jumped out of his skin when an unnaturally warm hand wrapped around the top of the base of his tail. He brought the lute up between them like it was a weapon he could use to beat Soren back but all he was met with was a surprised expression on the other's face. Regret quickly overtook the surprise and Soren pulled back, hand leaving Verena's tail. "Sorry."
Minutes passed before Verena finally relaxed enough to ask, "Why'd you do that?"
He gained Soren's gaze. Those off colored pupils regarded him for the brief moment before, "You looked like you needed some warmth."
"But my tail?"
Soren looked back to the group. "None of my companions have one so I hadn't really thought it would be any different than touching your shoulder, or arm." There was another shrug. "It was also bare skin. The rest of you is covered in fabric." Verena had taken to wearing his long sleeves but it was more out of keeping Soren's eyes off his markings than anything else. He gained a sigh from his silence. "Look," Soren explained, "I just did. There was no thought to it, no purpose other than wanting to give you some warmth. Figured best way was direct contact and I apologize for my lapse in judgment."
Soren stood up and started to move away.
It was then that Verena realized he really had been cold because now the chill of the night was touching him where Soren's warmth had been instead.
"What are you?"
His eyes snapped wide at the blurted words, a shiver of something coursing down his spin when Soren stops and half turns to look at him. But instead of the hate or rejection he expected to see, curiosity and patience greeted him from Soren's expression. He was growing to hate the latter. "A fire genasi. Why?"
"A what?"
"Fire genasi." Soren approached again but didn't sit. "Half human, half genie. Fire just happens to be the element trait I took on from the world."
"Would explain why you're always unnaturally warm."
Soren chuckled. He frowned, not liking the sound. It seemed sad. "I try and keep it as normal as I can manage but sometimes emotions or situations make it difficult."
His tail patted the spot Soren had been sitting at. "You were keeping the chill of the night away," he explained at Soren's raised eyebrow.
The fire genasi chuckled and sat back down. Conversation was slow to return but it did, making their watch short.
"Soren!"
His voice cracked on the name as fear threatened to choke him. Something brushed against his mind, something that wasn't physical, something he couldn't see nor touch, and as it brushed by it left him feeling like it took something with it but he couldn't think of what.
"Verena!"
It was soft, faint, and echoed off the walls like a whisper.
"Soren!" he screamed again, but he wasn't sure why he was screaming it. What even was it? Was it just a word or did it have meaning? Was it the customary response to 'verena'? What even was 'verena'?
He gave out a cry that turned into a sob as part of the ledge broke and tumbled into the darkness below. "Someone! Please!" he shouted, fear choking off anything else he may have shouted as he pressed into the wall as best he could.
"Verena!" His head snapped up and met a pair of eyes that looked off on a human face. Behind the stranger was a gaggle of people of varying races. "Shit," the human spat, the cuss echoed in different ways by those behind nem. "Verena, look at him." He found himself meeting the human's strange eyes. "Verena, I need you to trust me and step off the ledge."
"What?!" It was strangled and sharp and ricocheted off the walls oddly.
The human's face twisted into something painful. "Please, Ren," Ren, Ren, Ren, "you have to do this on your own. We can't come out to you."
"Why not?!" Another chuck of the ledge fell away and his leg slipped over the edge. "I can't!" it was high, reedy, followed quickly by a sob.
"We can't do this for you, Verena!" the human shouted back, voice strained as weapons were drawn. "Only you can conquer your fear! You're the only one that can get yourself out of its clutches."
"Soren!"
The strange human was thrown back by some force he didn't see. The human slammed into a few behind nem but those in the back were able to keep everyone more or less on their feet. One of the companions was already placing hands on the strange human's chest, magic dancing from those nimble fingers.
Something curled at the edge of his vision like it was about to strike and he knew with absolute certainty that if he let it spring forward, they would all die.
Whoever they were, they would all die.
He leapt at it as some noise ripped itself from his throat, magic turning all of his pale, swirling markings green.
It didn't matter who he was or who they were. He wasn't going to let them die.

Fifty three
Cayden
“Everything ok?” i asked, seeing her cross legged on the bed. I had just gotten in from my run. She nodded.
“Ya.”
“What’s up?”
“China called,” she explained. “She’s with that nigga again, and they got into it last night apparently and he hit her again.”
“She needs to drop that nigga,” i mumbled, kicking my shoes off. What she saw in him, I had no idea.
“I know. I’ve told her.” She sighed. “What kind of messed up man does that. He’s double her size, it’s not even a fair fight.”
“An insecure nigga that’s who. Don’t worry yourself too much about it though, at the end of the day you can’t make her leave,” I said, taking my watch off. I knew that was her friend but she also needed to stay out of it because I didn’t want anything happening to her. The guy had a temper and if he could hurt his girlfriend he could hurt anyone.
“Yeah.” She nodded. “I could make him leave though…” she said. I looked at her wearily. That didn’t sound good.
“I feel like I’m involved in this plan.”
“Not you. Some of your guys. If they just scare him a little bit, maybe he’ll leave.”
“You want him to get jumped?” I asked. She nodded. I thought it over and shrugged. “I can arrange that if that’s what you want. I could kill him too if you want that. More permanent.”
“No killing please. Just rough him up a little.”
“Aight.” I nodded, then got on the bed to go and grab her. I squeezed her a little tighter than comfortable and she whined, complaining. I chuckled and loosened my grip.
“You were really gonna off him if I asked?” She asked surprised.
“If that’s what you wanted,” i shrugged, then took my sweat drenched shirt off.
“If I said to jump off a bridge would you do that too,” she laughed and i chuckled.
“Dead ass, I would though,” I said, and I meant it. I’d cut off my arm for her, I was surprised she didn’t know that.
“Lord. How come you don’t listen when I ask you to do other stuff then? Like making the bed, or doing laundry,” she narrowed her eyes at me. I yawned an all too convenient yawn.
“You know babe, I’m pretty tired,” I said. She rolled her eyes as I sat on the bed. “But seriously my shoulder hurts,” I complained.
“Fine, let’s see,” she said moving on to her knees and coming up behind me. She put her hands on my back and I felt my skin warming up under them and I forgot all about the pain. “You have a big bruise Cay, what did you do?” She asked, concerned.
“I don’t remember,” I shrugged. It wasn’t that serious.
“My poor baby,” she murmured, running her hands across my shoulders. She made small circles along my back, massaging me. “This will make you feel better,” she said, continuing to massage my shoulder. Well damn, I thought, I should complain more often. A phone started ringing then but my eyes were closed and I was relaxed by the massage so I ignored it.
“That’s not mine,” she said.
“Let it go to voice mail,” I said. She continued the massage and the ringing died down. But then it started again. I opened my eyes then.
“You said you weren’t gonna deal with work while we were here,” Randi folded her arms.
“They called twice, it might be important Randi,” I said, going to get my phone. “Hello?” I answered.
The conversation was a blur to me. I’m not even sure how it ended. I just heard Randi saying my name repeatedly.
“Cayden,” she shook my shoulder now.
“Yeah babe?” I said, scratching my chin.
“What is it?” She asked, knowing something was wrong.
“Ty. He’s in the hospital,” I told her. She grabbed my arm tighter.
“What happened to him? Is he gonna be ok?”
“He got shot, and they don’t know yet, it’s bad,"I explained. She put her hand to her forehead, a sign of stress.
"I’m sorry baby. What do you want to do? Should I start packing?” She said, already making a move to go get stuff. I shook my head.
“No, we don’t need to pack. Let’s just finish our last days here then we’ll go see him. I don’t wanna ruin the trip, I promised no interruptions,” I said. I knew Randi was loving having my undivided attention and after I promised that I could make her my focus for 2 weeks, I didn’t wanna let her down.
“I don’t care about that Cay. Ty is family, that’s important,” she said.
“There’s nothing I can do anyway, and I hate hospitals. Pat will keep me posted.”
“Are you sure Cayden?” She said. I nodded.
“I’ll see him when we get back,” I assured her. She nodded leaving it alone. I put my phone back on the table and lay back on the bed, with my arms behind my head.
Randi
Cayden insisted that we continue with our day and plans as normal. I was shocked he had said he wanted to stay and I hoped he wasn’t doing it for me. A stupid vacation meant nothing to me when his best friend was hurt. But I also knew Cayden liked to avoid dealing with things that were too negative or that made him emotional. He probably thought he couldn’t handle seeing Ty like that. I assumed it had to do with loosing his brother, but I didn’t push it.
So we went on with the trip to the museum. Cayden was understandably not really with it though. He was just standing there and I don’t think he even saw what he was looking at. I went up to him and grabbed his hand. He turned to look at me.
“We need to go home don’t we?” I said, knowing all along it would hit him eventually. He locked his jaw. “It’s OK Cayden. I don’t care about any of this. I swear,” I said, gesturing to the art around us. He paused then nodded after a moment.
“Let’s go,” he said. I started for the exit, pulling him behind me. I had already packed a lot of our stuff while he got ready in anticipation of this, he didn’t know it.
We got to the airport and on the plane within a few hours. For once I didn’t really feel my fear of flying because I was more concerned about Ty, about Cayden, and Cole as well. I realized he must be heart broken right now.
“Cole…” I said to myself. I was holding Cayden’s hand in my lap.
“Oh fuck, I hadn’t thought about that,” he sighed in frustration then let my hand go. I could see him becoming angry and I didn’t want him making a scene on the flight. “Why is this flight so fucking long. We should be there already,” he grumbled.
“It’s frustrating, I know,” I agreed.
“I need to get there so I can find out who did this to my nigga and make him pay,” he said.
“I’m sure the guys are already looking into it. They always have your back,” I reminded him.
“I’m gonna kill him. I am.”
“I know,” I said casually, taking his hand and squeezing it firmly. “But we need to act right on this plane full of people. So let’s relax and talk about this later, ok? It’s a long flight.” He nodded.
We landed several hours later, and it was now early morning back home. I felt icky and wanted to bath but I knew our priority was to get to the hospital and see how Ty was doing. We rented a car from the airport and Cayden started driving to the hospital. On the drive there I started thinking about the 2 times I’d been there in the past couple of years. One was when the Dre incident happened and I woke up there, the other was my dad’s heart attack. In both cases we had come out okay so I prayed it would be the same this time. If something happened to Ty not only would I miss him desperately but Cayden would be truly broken. Me and Ty were the only things constant in his life.
Cay parked in the visitors section and sat in the car for a moment. I put my hand to his cheek.
“Let’s go baby,” I said. He unbuckled his seat belt and we got out of the car. We walked up to the reception desk and I gave the nurse Ty’s name.
“Sorry, looks like he’s still in surgery. You can wait in the waiting area and have a coffee maybe? They’ll come get you when he’s out,” he said. I nodded.
“Thank you.” I walked to the doors that lead to family waiting area pulling Cayden behind me. When we got to the chairs I saw Cole sitting by himself with his head down. I rushed to him and put my arm around.
“Cole, I’m sorry I wasn’t here. How are you holding up?” I asked.
“I’m aight, just worried you know,” he said, trying to play it off. I nodded, holding his hand tightly. Cayden sat on the other side of me.
“We all worried man,” Cayden said, “but he’s gonna be alright…he has to be.”
An hour later a doctor finally came out to update us. Cayden stood up when he saw him approaching.
“Is it done now? How is he?” He asked.
“Yes, the surgery is finished. But it was very touch and go. Your friend will be in ICU for at least a few days. He won’t really be awake until a day or 2. But he’s doing well considering the extent of the injuries,” the doctor said.
“So does that mean we can see him?” Cole asked.
“You can see him, just know that he won’t be responsive just yet, and he’s still quite swollen so he may not look as you last saw him,” he explained. “But I can take you to him.”
We agreed and he took us to the ICU where he was. I entered with Cayden and Cole so I could see Ty for myself. We all stood around him. Cole took his hand in his. I kissed his cheek.
“Ty, don’t worry, we’re all here for you,” I said, not sure if he could hear us or not.
“Just get better,” Cole added.
“We need you man,” Cay agreed. “We gon find who did this to you. Trust and believe,” he said, putting a hand on his shoulder. That was rare affection from Cayden to anyone that wasn’t me. Cole sat in the chair still holding Ty’s hand tight.
“We’ll give you a moment Cole,” I offered. Cayden agreed and we left the room to give them privacy considering their past.
After seeing Ty for about a while I was ready to go home and just shower and eat. I had been running around and frantic these past several hours, being there for Cayden, worrying about Ty, then being there for Cole. Cayden was doing better though now that he had seen Ty so I wasn’t as stressed. We got into the car in the hospital parking lot.
“Are you ready to go?” I asked. “We can come back later if you want.”
“Yeah, I am,” he said. “I’ll come by tomorrow. He needs to rest for now anyway the doctor said.”
“Okay. Let’s go home then,” I said. He nodded and started the car. We pulled out of the lot.
As we got through the front door I sighed in relief. The vacation had taken such a twist that it was good to be home. Cayden wrapped his arm around my waist.
“Thanks for making me come back home and seeing Ty,” he said. I leaned up to kiss his cheek.
“You’re welcome love,” I told him. He went to go get the luggage from the car and I started for the kitchen to see what I could put together for us. When I got into the kitchen I paused.
“Cayden, did you leave the back door open?” I asked, annoyed. The door leading to the backyard was not fully closed. Cayden had been out there the night before we left doing whatever for his pool.
“What? No.” He said, coming into the kitchen from the hallway. He looked to the door and paused for a moment. I went over and closed and locked the door, ready to move on the cooking.
“Stay right there,” he said, suddenly very serious.
“What-” I started to protest. He shushed me and covered my mouth. I nodded understanding. He went to the couch and reached under it to grab a gun that I didn’t know was there. I grabbed his arm, telling him to be careful with my eyes. He nodded, then started for the stairs. He went slowly up the stairs, gun ready. Then he disappeared behind the wall and I was just left to worry. I was shaking and my stomach was in knots. Had someone really broke into our home? I felt violated. I went to the kitchen island and searched for my phone in my purse. I wanted it on me just in case. I found it and sighed in relief. Then i was grabbed by a set of arms that were not Cayden’s. My mouth was covered and my head was in a sort of headlock. I felt something digging into the side of my head.
“Put it down,” a deep voice said from behind me. I threw my phone down shaking and crying. I realized it was a gun that was against my skull. I’d never even really held a gun before and now I had the cold metal of one against my temple. “I’m gonna let go and your gonna calmly call his name. Got that?” He spat. I nodded quickly. “Anything else and I shoot you right here,” he threatened. I nodded again. He slowly removed his hand from my mouth.
“Cayden,” I said, my voice shaky. He covered my mouth again.
“Yeah baby, there’s no one up here. Maybe we did leave it open. But I thought you checked the security system before we left,” he said. I could hear his footsteps coming towards the stairs followed by him coming down. I tried to scream to warn him but it was muffled. He came down the hallway.
“Randi-” he stopped in his tracks seeing what was going on. I cried scared for my life and scared for his. Cayden quickly lifted his gun and pointed it at the masked man.
“Let her go,” he said, “now!”
“You wanna watch how you’re talking to me young blood. One wrong move and I blow her brains out,” the man said. Cayden paused, contemplating. But then he realized the man was right.
“What do you want?” Cayden asked, gun still pointed.
“First, imma need you to put the gun down, then we can discuss that” he said. He let go of my mouth and grabbed my hair, he moved the gun to under my chin. I let out a cry.
“Fine!” Cayden said, putting the gun down. “What do you want? You can have whatever you want man, just let her go.”
“What I want is revenge. You killed my cousin, Dre. Now I want something from you. You youngin always so ambitious but reckless. Thinking you can run shut better than your elders?” He chuckled.
“I didn’t wanna run anything, it was personal, fair street business ” Cayden said desperately.
“You expect me to belive that? I’m not dumb!” the man shouted.
“I’m not saying that. Running shit wasn’t my plan, if that’s what you mad about. We had beef and I settled it the way we all do. I’m sorry it was your family man…”
“You ain’t sorry. But that’s ok. You took something of mine, so now I want something of yours,” he said, “that’s all.”
“What you want man? You can have it, just let her go. I have money here, I can get you whatever supplies you want, get you a position in my warehouse, anything,” Cayden bargained. I could hear the fear and desperation in his voice.
“Nah. You good. I got what I want. She’s what you love most. So you got any last words for her?” He said. I looked to Cayden who wasn’t even looking at me. He was looking past me I didn’t know at what.
“Cayden-” I cried.
I heard I loud bang then and I froze, not sure what had happened. The man let me go and I ran to Cayden immediately. He secured his arms around me and I turned around to see the man on his knees, blood dripping from his chest. Pat was standing in the doorway, the door off its hinges. The man fell on to his side, still struggling.
“I called you to tell you not to come home alone. You didn’t pick up,” Pat said. “Yall ok?”
“Yeah. Can you get her out of here,” he said to Pat. I held on to him not wanting to leave his side. “I’ll come meet you at the warehouse. It’s safer there.”
“Ok,"I said. I let go of him and turned to go to Pat. Cayden grabbed my arm then and yanked me towards him roughly, stepping in front of me. I heard the several gunshots at the same time, followed by a long moment of utter silence. I froze, not sure where I had been shot and wondering why I felt no pain. I looked over Cays shoulder and saw the man had taken a bullet to the head and lay face down, motionless. I sighed in relief then went to go wrap my arms around Cayden.
"Are you ok?” He asked.
“I’m okay.” I said. He slumped into me and I stumbled backwards under his weight. Pat rushed over then and I knew something was wrong. “Cay,” I said. Pat grabbed his arm, holding him up and kept him from crushing me. That’s when I saw the blood staining his shirt and the blood that was now on me. I covered my mouth. Cayden had been shot, instead of me. I felt sick.

Mistletoe kisses
Dick Grayson/Robin x reader.
‘This guy is in a league of his own.’ You thought to yourself as you notice mistletoes hanging at intervals all over the cave. There’s really only one person who would even think of this, and then actually execute the idea. Robin. ‘What even is the end game? Does he seriously think everyone’s going to partake in this?’ You muse to yourself and head to the kitchen, taking notice of at least 10 mistletoes on the short walk. M’gann is in the kitchen when you arrive. She’s making some cookies, and the smell is amazing. “Hey M, how’s it going?” You greet her, “Something smells wonderful, whatcha making?” You ask as you take a seat at the counter, placing you elbows on it and your head in your hands. It’s been a long day. School finally let out for the holidays, and in true school fashion, there had been a slew of exams to mark the end of year. “Hey (Y/N)! They’re chocolate chip cookies. With a bit of extra chocolate.” M’gann says as she smiles and tends to the oven that started beeping as you came in. “Want to try them?” “Yes please! It’s rare Wally’s not here to eat them all up in an instance.” You state excitedly and grab one of the oven plate. It’s still way too hot to eat, but you figured better safe than sorry, and have one already in your possession in case Wally shows up. “On a side note, what’s up with all the mistletoe?” You’re kind of confused by it, not seeing the point. “Well, I’m not a hundred percent certain. Robin does that every year or so, usually to trick people into kissing. His favourite is when some of the mentors come around and partake. The rest of us have just started to ignore it.” M’gann smiles as she explains this to you. You joined the team in March of this year, and so hadn’t spent the holidays with the team before. “Ah, so I don’t have to kiss anyone?” You confirm as you take a bite of out of the now cooled cookie. “Nope! At least you don’t have to instigate anything!” M’gann says and takes a bit of her own from a cookie, “How do you like them?” “Mmm, yeah” Your voice is a bit muffled by the cookie in your mouth. You swallow and continue, “You’re the best at making cookies, they’re really good!” You reach for another one. “This is odd though, right?” You question M’gann. “What do you mean, (Y/N)?” M’gann hasn’t caught on to your line of though, so you clarify. “Wally’s not here to eat all the cookies, that’s odd, no?” Although you hadn’t been there for too long, you’d been there for long enough to notice a trend. Wally, and subsequently the rest of the team, were never far away when M’gann made cookies. And this shouldn’t have been any different. Maybe it was all the mistletoes? “Oh! Now that you mention it.” M’gann says as she makes a thinking face, “They all should be here by now, the scent has surely wafted all over the cave.” She frowns and grabs another cookie while thinking. You could have sworn she had turned on the telepathic link to check the situation, but after a second her face relaxed and a smile reappeared on her face. “It’s nothing to worry about. They’re on their way here as we speak.” “Well then, time to hoard the cookies and disappear.” You say as you put the hood of your sweater on, cookies in your pocket and wiggle your fingers as you make a boo face. “Just in case there is kissing.” You make a different face with that statement, one which says you just had something sour and wink to M’gann as you try to leave before a war breaks out with the cookies in the centre. M’gann just laughs and shakes her head. You hadn’t gotten too far, when no other than Robin almost runs you over. “Sorry, (Y/N)! I’m racing Wally and Artemis is holding him back. I need all the advantage I can get, racing him!” He smiles and steadies you. “It’s cool, at least you technically won, ‘ey?” You ask as a blur zips past you with a shouting Artemis running after it. Apparently, Wally had taken the opportunity to kiss Artemis since there was a mistletoe hanging over them, and he’d figured it’d be the easiest way to break free from her grasp. “Hey! Don’t eat all of them!” Artemis’ voice rings out, prompting Robin to sigh. “I guess I missed all the cookies.” He dejectedly states. “Well, not quite.” You say with a smile, and withdraw two cookies from your pocket. “I was gonna go eat them in my room in peace, but since I took a few, I think I can spare a few for you.” You wink at him and turn to leave after handing the cookies over. But just before you manage to go, Robin grabs your hand and turns you around to face him. Much to your shock, you find his lips on yours. As you pull away, he says: “Sorry, couldn’t let you go without a kiss. Us being under a mistletoe and you being adorable and all.” His lips curl into a smirk, and a chuckle escapes his lips after a moment, having seen the shock on your face. “I’m fairly certain it wasn’t this bad.” He jokingly says as the shock stays on your face for a good while. You shake your head ever so slightly and return his gaze. “Eh, sorry. Didn’t expect that.” You shyly say, as you look down and scratch the back of your head. Getting over your initial shock you look back up after a second and smile. “Well, now that you have your cookies and a kiss, I think I’m going to head out. See ya!” Your second attempt at bolting away is in vain again, because he stops you again. You turn around again with a confused smile, “Everything ok?” “Yeah... Yeah! It’s just that, eh, I kinda need to talk to you.” You saw a blush beginning on Robin’s cheeks as he said that. “O…K, in private or?” You ask him, and start blushing yourself when he nods. “Alright, lead the way.” You give him a small smile, and let him take you hand and lead you away to find more privacy. Once you’ve reached a satisfactory distance, he turns abruptly around and faces you. His face only having gotten redder than before. “(Y/N). I, I have something I need to tell you…” He trailed off, looking towards the ground, seemingly to gather up courage. It surprised you a bit, having usually only seen his bold side. “Is it something bad?” You ask with innocence and try and get him to look up at you, “You’re not quitting and telling me the last, are you?” You grow more concerned, not used to this vibe at all from him. “NO! No, no! Nothing like that. It’s just, I’ve been working on gathering the courage to tell you this, and I figured with all the mistletoes it would be easy. It’s an ice breaker you see? First I get you under a mistletoe and kiss you and then I tell you how much I like you and then you laugh and I laugh and it’ll be happily ever after and…” Robin rambles on and on and everything finally clicks for you. He had been acting a bit off for the past few months, but since you met him so recently you just figured it was just how he was. Turns out, he’d just been crushing on you, and you didn’t realise. ‘Great thing you’re not a detective, this would have been embarrassing!’ You think to yourself and notice at the corner of your eye another mistletoe. Robin hadn’t seen it, or ignored it, but you decided to put him out of his misery. You’d developed a crush on him too, and figured you could do as he did before. So without much further consideration, you grab his face with your hands, effectively shutting him up. You stare at him, with a determined look in your eyes and you lean in, close your eyes and kiss him. It’s a softer kiss than the one before, and shorter too. As you pull away you see him wearing a ridiculously large grin. “Where did that come from?” Robin asks amused. “There’s a mistletoe over there.” You say and point it out. “I figured if that was an ok reason for you, it’d be fine for me.” You give him a smile and kiss his cheek. “You know; I think I can get used to this.” He bemused and took of his glasses. “I think if I’m making this a habit, you should know my name.” He smiles at you, takes a step back and sticks his right hand out for you to shake. “Hi (Y/N). Names Dick, nice to meet you.”
