Bluey X Welcome Home!

Hello guys! So I've been thinking about this idea for a long time, and finally I can share with you the cover for one of the Bluey series along with Wally at the Bingos place! I thought it would be best to make Julie as Bluey, Wally as Bingo, Barnaby as Bandit, and Poppy as Chilli. I also drew silly concepts of Wally and Julie designs (if you're interested I can post them later!). I plan to just redraw many-many frames from the cartoon itself with the Welcome Home characters, so I don’t consider this an au… in any case, here we are! Thank you all for your support and for staying here! I am eternally grateful to everyone! (I've almost reached 1000 subscribers, it's so exciting!! Thank you!!)

I forgot to post this last month so please count it as a February piece. Also Larchkit, Petalkit and Patchkit's designs aren't gonna stay like that for the most part. Idk why I changed the designs I already have for them into these but just know that I've tried to stick to the right designs.

(Also scratch out the Mapleshade and Ashfur from January's drawings since I've changed their designs a bit too). Thank you.

Was thinking about drawing this after realizing the similarities between the shows and their fan bases, mostly their opinions on these characters. I'm not gonna explain it all on here.

Colored doodles of characters I felt like drawing, Idk I just wanted to see my progress on getting better at mimicking the respective art styles of each thing for the most part. Mostly because I'm into both Bob's Burgers and Ed Edd n Eddy rn, and pretty much everything else shown on here (besides Orel and Greg I just thought they'd be friends, and Bluey cause i never get tired of drawing her im also excitedfor more Bluey).

I drew this basically as concept for an AU where Mapleshade was good. I know exactly what goes down but for now I'll just post whatever and probably talk about it more with some more drawings of this AU.

Also my designs for warrior cats are never consistent.

Since my birthday I started drawing certain characters playing Lazer Tag (since that's what my family, my youngest sister's friend and I did on that day). So I included the characters that had their birthdays (that I at least saved on my calander) and also other characters I really like recently.

So Leafy and Teardrop was teaming up until TD betrays her and Leafy tries to get revenge but keeps on getting shot by her (based on personal experience).

The thing about Kenny is that Sniper headshot him with a real gun somehow, and Crocker was teaming up with him so he's unaware of Kenny's death here.

Don't mind ARG he ain't hating Mickey he's just in the zone and looking out for himself and possibly Mickey, they're friends cause I said so.

Also 2-D is here because I like Gorillaz rn. Frank is here because there's a whole thing that I can't explain here but that's why he's "alive" here. Also he wasn't really caring about the game until the tension was getting to him. He turns into a ghost and flees at the end.

Logan here is looking up at Louise and Joe who were at a high point. Joe isn't even really playing, he was practicing his swing with the baseball nets next door to the Lazer Tag arena, but joins in with Louise at the last minute. They're looking down on him and making faces.

Tried to give a hypothetical redesign to Radley Heeler if he had slightly more realistic markings. Also made the hair more subtle and made him resemble his dad a bit more. Just a trace-over of an image of him from the Bluey fandom wiki. Sorry to anyone who likes the long hair and ‘beachy explosion’ pattern!

As much as I like Radley Heeler’s design, he’s a lot more stylised compared to the other members of his family so it’s not really clear without context that he’s also an Australian cattle dog. Also a lot of people are confused by his appearance and speculate that he is a step-child to Bob or Christine from the other’s previous marriage. Cattle dog genetics are funny and it is actually possible for two blue heelers to have red heeler puppies, and vice versa. All the members of the Heeler family are based of a different sort of cattle dog coat colouration and my best guess is that Radley was based off a blue heeler with ‘creeping tan’ markings, but with artistic liberty taken on the direction and placement of said markings.

I think I made him look a bit more like his older design from before he was officially introduced on the show (shown in background portraits), and some of the official colour scheme concepts.

• BETH SHERMY GIBBON YES YES YES- back to old adventure time: I love the intro theme for Beth and shermy, it’s so melancholic and desolate, cold, with backgrounds that make this so fascinatingly depressing a turn for the land of oo (happy endings impermanent- life goes on kinda deal, so cool, so consistent with adventure time’s own concepts & “everything stays”)

• Simon and Betty made me emotional

• uhh how old was Betty when she starting dating simon? Just offhand lol I’m sure it was fine

• Golbetty had beautiful scenes

• way better simon and Golbetty than that weird adventure time published comic I’m sure some of you read

• the animation is great on some places, other times while well made, feels out of place for adventure time; like it’s trying too hard to be pretty (not the Ice Prince song, stuff like that made sense for adventure time)

• like some bits reminded me of Steven universe’s inconsistencies (same bits that made me really really dislike some of adventure time distant lands’ execution)

• [funny nitpick incoming] like there were points where the characters had really big eyes even tho they r supposed to be dots (not when exaggerating certain emotions cartoonishly, I meant prolonged); adventure time’s deal is keeping them small and kinda hard to decipher

• some bits were just a tinnny too anime that it bothered me, just some! Anime is cool!!!

• I was really expecting or hoping for a Korra styled multi-season just with lesser episodes

• the resolution was… kinda haphazardly handled

• same with some of the final themes, like w/ simon n betty

• adventure time is kinda known for being almost ambiguously optimistic so the whole super happy thing was kinda strange to me

• I know like it shouldn’t have to be the same as adventure time obviously, but that was the general identity of adventure time; the cosmic ambiguity with absurd humor delivered nonchalantly

Took a break from studying to make sure I don't overdo it, and ended up drawing a costume once again! I actually loosely based this one on Ringo from Touhou Project. I randomly remembered that the shorts Ringo wears are called "pumpkin pants," and then I made pumpkin pants that look like an actual pumpkin! The orange beads are supposed to be hemisphere orb shaped, while the glitter circles on the brown are more like glitter adhesive fabric that's flush to the shirt. I really like it!

Hey um hope you don't mind but there's a new original Magical Girl anime called Princessession Orchestra and also being headed by the same person who wrote Symphogear (Akifumi Kaneko to be specific). So what do you think about these designs for the main trio in the picture?

Huh. Pretty interesting tbh.

Let's see, of the three the red girl is the best dressed. She has the most thorough aesthetic, everything about her combines into perfection.

Bluey isn't bad, but her overall childish vibe between her scrappy hairstyle, her short gloves and socks on laced shoes, and high collar that completely covers her doesn't mesh well with her grandiose, long, crotch-pointing, leg-bearing open skirt. There's a reason Himari Takakura from mawaru penguindrum abandons her comparatively childish look when she transforms into The Princess of the Crystal. It is very beautiful that this skirt looks like ocean waves, but it's not supported by the rest of the aesthetic of this character, so it doesn't work as intended.

Lastly there's Phosphophyllite from Land of the Lustrous, who looks pretty cool from this angle, but she still doesn't fully convince me. I'm not into her blue shoes and elbow sleeves(?) which are redundant because of her bunched-up wrists, or her long-ass strand of hair/ponytail (not her topknot, I mean a strand that's mostly covered by blue girl) competing with her big-ass ribbon. From what little info I've managed to gather I think her aesthetic is supposed to evoke the concept of a meteor and I can see how she's trying to do that. However, because she doesn't appropriate the fancy-princess-like part of the aesthetic she feels like she has less of an identity than the other two, except by contrast. Like, she's not really a tomboy, but tomboy is her default standout trait because the others are more feminine. To be perfectly fair, I do like her top, short, boots and the shorter part of her hair, but I feel like for everything to mesh together she should take some things from marching-band uniforms. You know, give her a more military, butch-adjacent style.

i feel like there needs to be some sorta study about the way opinions on games work, and this weird hatefully dependant relationship gamers have with game reviews, sites like ign and shit. i noticed it particularly on the new suicide squad game - for those out of the loop, the new "Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League" game is out, with a pretty disastrous pre-launch, and worse launch. Before games come out, normally early copies are given out to reviewers so they play it and give out their impressions before release, so people know whether to buy them or not. on paper this concept is good, and can heavily affect the launch of the game and the way people perceive it. however, this concept doesn't always, or even usually, work, because reviews are so skewed and biased. games like cyberpunk 2077 had one of the worst releases ever seen in gaming, with a completely broken mess of a game that didnt pack half of the features promised, yet pre-launch reviews were top tier, with 5/5s and 9/10s all over (screenrant compilation of reviews). so obviously, either most polished and minimized versions are given out at times to hide the mess, or reviewers are paid off or just plain stupid.

now, not for those reasons, the suicide squad game's early copies were not given out to reviewers. this was likely because the game isn't very good, or at least doesn't meet expectations, and the studio didn't want to showcase it before launch, so people still buy it. This could be because the studio didnt want to pay reviewers off, or they weren't confident that reviewers would be dumb enough to give good reviews. Alternatively its because they thought their reputation would be even further tarnished if a well reviewed game turned out to be an utter piece of shit again. obviously this all backfired and the review embargo was incessantly spoken of and speculations about the games shittiness rose.

few days later, game comes out - only people seen to be having a good time? I've seen people saying to not believe reviews and to play the game yourself - no one is saying its an amazing, reality shattering masterpiece, but its a fun looter-shooter. it has some cool designs and ideas, and the gameplay is pretty fluid (I haven't played it, im quoting people ive seen, who aren't qualified reviewers). launch is pretty tame comparatively, and is honestly one of the better releases the studio could've hoped for probably. it performs pretty mediocre on day one, but pre-launch was a weird clusterfuck so its not surprising. overall, for a game most people dubbed 7/10 at best, with terrible expectations and advertising, launch is great.

and the come the reviews. IGN has given the game 5/10 - which, for IGN, is basically a 1/10. IGN is notorious for very rarely dipping below 7/10, giving some of the biggest pieces of shit, truly 1/10 games, passable scores. On recent reviews i had to scroll pretty far to find a game below 6 (and was plenty surprised to find a 1/10 game, The Day Before), and those with 5s and below are normally minor, non-AAA games like Bluey: The Game, or some weird fortnite festival with a 4/10. Games with horrendous reviews from people I've spoken to, and some game critics on youtube, like avatar: frontiers of pandora, have survived with a 7/10 despite underwhelming launches and mid-to-terrible gameplay and story. What I'm getting at basically, is that Suicide Squad is one of the few triple-A games I've seen in a long time to get a bad score, when normally IGN sucks big studios like warner brothers off.

So, could this be because the game is shit? Unlikely, since as I said, people were enjoying it. If you disagree with that because you didn't enjoy it, then disregard and remember that significantly bigger pieces of shit still got better scores than suicide squad.

REMEMBER THE CYBERPUNK LAUNCH (9/10 UwU) [Editors note: Editors note 2: Update: Editors note:]).

So no, i don't believe IGN gave suicide squad a 5/10 just because its a bad game. Following a careful analysis and bonking my head with a brick until I got a concussion, i do believe IGN only gave suicide squad a bad score because of the review embargo. Frankly if you told me the reviewers didn't even play the game, i would probably believe you, because it seems like the most agenda-fueled, hate-stirring vengeful move IGN has done in a while, even going so far as to use the memory of the late Kevin Conroy, batman's voice actor, to stir hate by calling his performance in the suicide squad game 'a waste', despite kevin stating before he enjoyed playing an evil batman. IGN literally used a dead guy's performance in a game to indicate the game is a waste and not worth the effort, to stir hate in players and push their salty agenda. Why? Presumably, because they didn't get early review copies. Because they want to discourage this in future releases, because their entire website is built on getting bribed to suck off bad games and save them from terrible launches. They know they've been failing in recent years. With shitshows like cyberpunk not passing under the gamer radar anymore, studios know that a few paid off reviewers wont do enough to salvage their half-assed pieces of shit, so either they gotta make good games with effort, or polish them afterwards anyways, and either way reviewers aren't a worthwhile investment anymore.

On a sidenote, I'd love to come up here at the climax of my post with hard evidence IGN gets bribed for good scores. I have some old articles from like 2012, and a bunch of people on reddit who said so, but not really any hard evidence. There were allegations thrown around regarding starfield, another terrible game with good scores, that IGN got bribed by microsoft to give it a good review. IGN chief pledged to quit his job if evidence was brought forwards, and i dont think that happened. I can't prove to you beyond a reasonable doubt that IGN is bribed to be so skewed; at the very least, it seems like a profitable cycle of investments. Game is terrible and cheap, studios pay IGN to put a bandaid on it, release is profitable, the end. But with no evidence, its only really a theory... a... a... nay, i shan't.

So what did we learn? It seems like IGN is intentionally trying to tank the Suicide Squad launch, because they're salty over being cut out of the scam. It seems like journalistic integrity is thrown even farther out of the window, with IGN trying to act like mafia loan sharks by roughing up the game for not coming with a share of the profits, and discouraging future games from following suit. IGN right now seems like a parasite on the gaming industry, a leech that's been profiting off this perpetuating cycle of the industry dying with terrible cheap games that kill the genre's artistry. Now it looks a bit like the game industry is healing, and the IGN leech is starting to peel off, no longer able to cash in on failure games like the tabloid scum they are.

Don't let IGN discourage you from playing good games. This isn't an advertisement for the Suicide Squad, I barely even know if its actually good. IGN is clearly biased though, and so are most other game review sites. Do not trust reviews from corpo-sites, simply said.
