Okay so soulmate au. One where Tom and Tord are soulmates and they have a red thread connecting them. Then one where their red thread connects to a different person. This an ask for both AUs. I want to know how that would go. (Don’t ask me where these asks come from)

Awrighty sooo. Lets start with the bastard child: Regimen.

Thread to each other: Tom would DEFINITELY not like it and will keep denying that Tord is his soulmate. While our local roachrat won’t be much different I think? More aggressive in his approach maybe.

Thread to another: I’m ngl, I think Tom’s thread would be linked to Edd in this universe, but they would dance around it a lot, maybe they aren’t ready.

Tord, well, I think he’d be pissed knowing his thread doesn’t connect to Tom. The only saving grace is that neither Tom nor Edd ever reveal that they’re linked.

YAY THE FAVORITE CHILD (LMAO)

Thread to each other: OOOOOO This is gonna be so cute! I’m also a sucker for the childhood friends to lovers trope, so teeny weeny Tom and Tord would have been SOOO EXCITED to find out that they were each others’ soulmates and would be inseparable.

But…uh oh, looks like they don’t always click. And that upsets and frustrates both of them.

It’ll pretty much be like in Stay’s normal verse but they don’t break up as much and try REALLY hard to make things work, cause they’re soulmates right?? This SHOULD be easy.

But it’s not….they fight, they disagree on a lot of things, sometimes the fights get really nasty….

Was the universe……wrong?

There’s a lot of heartbreak that happens, lots of expectations about each other unmet. Maybe, for the first time in history, their thread was the first fluke, cause everything just ISNT working….

When they’re older, they realize, they were unfair to each other, the expectation that they were soulmates made them look at each other a certain way.

Soulmates or not, a relationship takes WORK and realistic expectations of each other, true and honest, things wont just click automatically like magic…

It gets better when they’re older.

Threads to another:

I think, Tord would be the first one to yearn. He really likes Tom, he thinks he’s fun, he thinks he’s funny, he’s good for him when he needs to be brought back down to reality. He’s always been a dreamer, and Tom was always the realist, he helps him keep his feet on the ground.

He thinks that whoever his soulmate might be, they’re going to be the luckiest person out there.

He feels guilt for wanting to be with someone who isn’t meant to be his….but, he’s a dreamer right? There’s no harm in dreaming….

Tom might notice how much Tord looks after him. He sees the lingering gazes, the almost apologetic way he draws back when they make contact, the way he talks to him like he’s always saying a goodbye.

It’s irritating….but he wonders.

Tord has always felt like he was bigger than himself. He’s always looking for something more, pushing himself for a goal that seems impossible, running off to god knows where, but that life, that excitement in his eyes has always been infectious. Tom doesn’t know how someone could have that much energy about living….

And maybe someday, Tord will wander away to somewhere Tom can’t be.

And somehow? That thought….is scary….

When he looks down at his thread, and sees that it doesn’t lead back to Tord….

If one day, he wanders away…..

….would Tom ever see him again?

What would happen if when Tord came back during The End and learned that Tom got married?(Both AUs)

Conference Table ask compilation, little more fluff after the Regimen ones, sob sob. > Regimen: Kill the spouse probably. Stay AU: Well...he'd be heartbroken, but Tom's the love of his life and he well and truly does love him, and sometimes loving someone just means letting them go, since loving someone means you want them to be happy, if Tom is happy with his spouse then Tord has no right to intrude on that. I don't think he can be friends with Tom again, not yet at least, so he'll leave until comes the time his heart is healed enough, maybe one day he can be friends with him again, be able to smile at him again without it hurting. For now, he just needs time.

And to answer your ask, they'll stay in each others' body for maybe a week or so, as is the trend with the swaps so far, and they would realize that they aren't in their universe at some point though STom is more likely of the two to come to that conclusion first as, Stay AU's world is a bit more fantastical than Regimen is (by eddsworld standards at least lol). RTom would probably think he's having a dying delusion. AK will notice that something is off about his papa, but he's just a kid so he'll just think Tom is sick in some way. I doubt Tord will tell his son anything after he confirms the swap with Bing and Larry, as he wouldn't want AK to worry so much. He'd probably ask RTom to pretend to be his husband for the sake of his son, much to the reluctance and awkward acquiescence of RTom. "I...don't have to kiss you right??" "No! No! No you don't h-have to! But, uh, you see....my husband and I are very amorous-" "Dude TMI." "Agh! Not in that way! For Guds skyld! I just mean that we're very openly affectionate! ^^^^ See above but: Shocked of course, and a bit disgusted, but those feelings fade as he starts noticing the differences between this Tord and his Tord. Of course, he can't be openly hostile with him when AK is around since his body (not really his body) instinctually compels him to be protective of AK, and that includes protecting his emotional state. Eventually, he starts noticing he's also very compelled to be near STord once he's calmer, and the more animalistic part of this body says that he's his mate which OH GOD SHIT he really hopes this isn't going to be a thing, but it gets MUCH worse when he has to pretend to be this alternate version of himself in front of the kid. This is the worst case scenario, the darkest of dark timelines. Tord has always always been prepared to die first, he was the most targeted one, he was the one people try to assassinate, he fights in the frontlines when he’s needed, he makes his presence known in every battle, he makes himself a target so that all focus was on him, so his enemies don’t account for his tactics and the rest of his army. But Tom? His beloved? His most valued person, the one good thing he feels he deserves to have? Alrighty, here we go! Ask compilation for Regimen stuff > Realistically, I dont think it would happen. Everybody knows that Tom is too important to lose, and that if he dies in RA HQ itself, there would be hell to pay, and its going to be the indiscriminate kind. So all in all, they'd probably try to keep him alive and well, unless they want their commander to forget his 'no killing staff (without plausible reason and replacement)' rule.

Very nice, pleasant enough to look at, and of course a vital base for all the wonderful art we have at present. Without it, anime wouldn't exist so hes thankful for them <3
