I don't even know what happened with Tony DeAngelo and the Rangers because I don't really check the news. But I agree with the message of your post. Chicago and the NHL have had an out to rebrand the team to a helicopter logo/mascot forever and they haven't. I don't think old, white men are ever going to get the message that the vast majority of young people aren't in the same mindset as them. And the ones that are were raised ass backwards.

This is what I’m referring to about the most recent incident (and this is an article describing a lot of what’s wrong with Tony DeAngelo in case you’re curious, but a 2-second scroll down his twitter also does the job, and that’s the kind of person K’Andre is going to have to share a locker room with). TW for racism/slurs in both articles (and discussion of these topics below).

The NHL and Chicago continue to make the active choice to resist changing their disgusting fucking logo, which is so indicative of their lack of effort to do anything real about racism because they promote it and profit from the blatant racism, jersey sales, games, tickets, etc every single day and will never change the logo. This league is so gross. And they lose so many fans who feel unwelcomed by the environment the NHL created between all the racism/homophobia/sexism/criminal acts, not to even touch on the players who quit for those reasons. And it’s not just old white men that are going to die out and then the league will change after— lots of young white people feel equally empowered to be openly bigoted and be NHL fans.

The NHL doesn’t want to change and they’re perfectly content with what they’ve created, and it’s disgusting the kinds of things it results in for players. Pretty much every player of color seems to have a story about a racist teammate, opponent, or fan, particularly black players, and the league stays dead quiet. They’ll push their players in front of a camera once a year to say “hockey is for everyone” and smile like this is the greatest experience of their lives and it’s been good & happy the whole time, but the NHL will do jackshit to protect them— they just use players for their marketing convenience. They won’t do something to prevent or condemn the blatant, in-your-face racism, let alone the microaggressions every player of color must experience. The NHL fucking sucks.

my ideal bookshop would be small, cozy, plants hanging from a couple of shelves, there would be nooks in windows (would love to have big round windows), kind of crammed up, it would have themed kids toys in the kids section that would match the books selection, lots of literary goodies, would have wooden shelves like actually the color of wood, it would always smell of old books and vanilla and it would maybe have a cute small cafe adjoined to it

Meatloaf is just ground meat that’s been shaped to look like a loaf of bread and cooked in the oven. People will sometimes add crackers, spices, or tomato soup to it to help hold it together. But it’s not all that bad all things considered. Hope that helps!

I'm here to confirm that the thing you just reblogged is most certainly Canada. That is a Tim Hortons cup in the last photo. While there are Tim Hortons in the USA, I can (probably) say that no American loves Tim Hortons that much to punch through an ice window to get it. Canadians are insane about their Tim Hortons sometimes. Just for future refernce lmao.
