It's always really funny to me that Australia has a reputation as a dangerous animal place. Americans online will be like 'aaa Australia snakes [wear boots and leave them alone and you'll be fine] and spiders [no one has died of spider bite in the 40 years since sydney funnelweb antivenom was invented and almost every species is super calm]' it is such a dangerous place to go hiking!' YOU HAVE BEARS THAT WANT TO EAT YOU????

Corfu 2017
Hello Everyone!
I’ve not been keeping up with my blog as much as I would have liked to recently, but June has literally FLOWN by. I’ve been super busy with lots of exciting things, but my recent holiday was just amazing.
Primasol Louis Ionian Sun
We stayed at this all inclusive hotel (not the tiny hut in the picture!) that had its own private beach that was absolutely stunning. I’ve never visited anywhere in the Med before and its safe to say I was blown away by the gorgeous crystal clear sea.
I went away with my boyfriend and another couple that Charlie met at Uni, who fortunately I get on with incredibly well. It was so nice to have another couple to socialise with, plus it was a bonus when the boys wanted to go off snorkelling and us girlies could do some maxin’ relaxin’ on the beach. And it was H O T. I mean I can't cope when its too hot like 33 degrees plus, its a no from me. I’ll be in the shade with my book or swimming desperately trying to cool down. Luckily, Corfu was just right which meant I avoided sweaty, grumpy Em for the majority of the holiday.
We did a fair bit of exploring, visiting Corfu Town one night, Moratika for some pedalo fun and Elvis themed bars, and the tame town of Benitses (which was absolutely crap).
I am quite a wet wipe when it comes to swimming. I never learnt enough when I was younger to be comfortable out of my depth and I vowed at the beginning of the holiday that you wouldn't catch me swimming far out where my feet couldn't touch the floor.
It’s fair to say I ate my words!!
At the beginning of the week I bought a watermelon rubber ring, which was legit the best investment ever! By the middle of the week I plucked up the courage to not jump off the pedalo, but kind of shimmy off it like a seal, and do it in a rather ungraceful way. Not gonna lie I was bricking it so I had a quick look around with the snorkel goggles on and got back on the pedalo, but I was really proud that I pushed myself to do something out of my comfort zone.
By the end of the week, I was living for the snorkelling and even went out on my own a few times! I saw an Octopus, which was SO scary as I couldn't work out where it was to start with even though it was being pointed out to me; and I thought ‘FUCK what if it swims at me or sticks to my face like that squid in 22 Jump Street.’ (yes, a genuine fear) My confidence with swimming grew so much and I’m so glad it did as it meant I didn't miss out on seeing TONS of lil fishes which was kinda creepy that they followed you everywhere- but also super cute.
The Blue Lagoon boat trip was absolutely insane. We were out on the boat from 8:45am till 5:30pm travelling to the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We stopped off at a few locations like a small cove, some caves and also a cafe that had the most picturesque gardens.
This trip, for me was the highlight of the holiday. It was just so beautiful and crazy how the scenery is such a far stretch from jammy Brighton beach. It was so much fun exploring the different stop off points, and it is something that I would 100% recommend if you ever visit Corfu.
Overall, the holiday with filled with sun, sea, alcohol and good company which was just the best thing ever. I will defo be going back Greece at some point, it’s safe to say I absolutely fell in love with it.
Thanks for reading!

New video by BRIGHT SIDE on YouTube
The Secret of Oddly Satisfying Videos Has Been Explained If the idea of watching a video where someone is gently shaving an eye shadow sounds strangely satisfying, you’re not alone. There are thousands upon thousands of weirdly satisfying videos, and their number is on the rise! They can vary greatly in terms of content and duration. A video could feature someone cutting soap, molding and playing with slime, or decorating a cake — among many other things. In theory, the ideas might sound mundane and lacking in originality; in practice, watching the video can be quite relaxing. Today, we're gonna tell you why you feel so attracted to these types of videos and what happens in your brain when you’re watching them. Google says that slime was also the biggest DIY trend of 2017. - The secret to these videos is that they tap into a system in your brain. You might not know it, but watching someone bury their hand in a bucket of slime can trigger your autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR). - ASMR is a type of euphoric experience that is triggered by gentle stimuli and leads to a variety of soothing sensations. - According to Dr. Nick Davis, a psychologist and neuroscientist at Manchester Metropolitan University, watching these videos can lift your mood, and the boost can last for hours. - Observing hand movements that are non-threatening, methodical, and gentle can also touch upon your natural childlike interest. - If you want to create one of these videos, you’ll feel great while making them, you’ll make others feel nice and chill, and you’ll end up with a super-chill, visually stunning video in your hands to share with your friends. - There are other psychological factors at play here as well. Though it has been debated many times, it is believed that some people have a psychological desire for symmetrical things and for things being completed. - Other videos have popped up that are designed to cause disgust in people. But don’t expect to see gore or something violent. These videos prey on people’s fear of holes, which is called trypophobia. - Many people claim to experience the symptoms from watching these repulsing videos. So instead of all the pleasant sensations you get from an ASMR video, you could experience goosebumps, nausea, and body shakes. - Some researchers believe that people who suffer from this fear are unconsciously thinking of dangerous things that could cause them harm, perhaps animals like the blue-ringed octopus; other studies dispute that line of thought.
