I sometimes wonder why the Blue Lock fandom is so quiet here compared to sports anime like Yuri on Ice, Haikyuu, and Free, but then I remember those anime came out in 2016, 2014, and 2013, the years when you could actually find art and gifs and a genuine community on Tumblr.

nowadays it's a lot of Tumbleweeds.

also I'm ngl.

I think Blue Lock has some fundamental storytelling issues that stop even the still active anime fans here from glomming onto it the way they used to, in the past.

it might be very gay but it's also really dude bro ish, and I don't think anyone on Tumblr really loves the NEL the way the dudebros of reddit and tiktok do, and the NEL is literally HALF THE MANGA RIGHT NOW.

so there's that.

blue lock would've done way better on 2014 Tumblr.

#i just think free and haikyuu and yuri on ice were very casual and the characters felt real #blue lock focuses so much on isagi that unless ur desperately obsessed with him and all of his ships #u will be disappointed #u dont get many relationships between anyone but isagi and his harem boys #haikyuu by comparison will always be more active even long after its over #bc the boys all feel like actual people living in an actual world #blue lock its like everyone freezes the second isagi isnt in the room or watching
