Peepaw
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was literally possessed and couldn't do anything until these three doodles were done. Hyacinth by @catboymoments showed up in my "For You", I had a vision, and this is what the vision was. Dadleb Wittebane has been blessed with yet another Grimwalker to give his love to (and he can twin with this one!! Without them being mean like some other Grimwalker *cough* hayden *cough*) Maybe one day Hayden Wittebane's story will get out of my drafts, but for now! You can all thank the fact that I was scrolling on "For You" for this pleasant meme/meeting/thing. Dialogue under the cut and in Image descriptions!
[Left Image top left corner states Hyacinth Park by catboymoments Caleb "Dadleb" Wittebane + Hayden Wittebane by @hex-wittebane] Hayden, about Hyacinth: Just like their Peepaw. Caleb, suddenly stops spinning Hyacinth and is angry: Call me "peepaw" again. I dare you. Hayden, off screen:
PEEPAW
Caleb sets Hyacinth down off screen and starts chasing Hayden: You might have given me these prosthetics, but I will kick your Grimwalker ass with them!!! [Middle image, side one] Hyacinth, about a bloody shovel: Is this yours? I found it in the closet. Hayden: Ah... Yeah. Used it to bury the dead animals I tried to gift to Belos as a kid. He grounded me for the blood trails. Hyacinth: Boo! Hayden: Tell me about it! Caleb isn't cool either. He was afraid I'd be Belos^2... Want to go grave robbing? Hyacinth: Sure do! [Middle image, side two] ✨GRIMWALKER COVEN✨ [Image on the right] Final move to the dragon dance from ATLA but with Hyacinth and Caleb. And yes, it was Caleb's idea.

oooh question! do you have colours that you associate with each sign? I notice a lot of aesthetic blogs tend to gravitate toward certain colours for certain signs but not everyone chooses the same colours. additionally when theres multiple signs in play how do you choose the dominant colour? ty!
Yes, big time! Each of the signs are already associated with a set of colors and I know that must influence my feelings (red and Aries are a natural match for example and technically red is natively associated with the sign). That being said, there absolutely are other colors and effects that I often end up using to signify a certain sign’s influence AND, vice versa, there are colors traditionally associated with signs that I almost never use (purple and Leo for instance—I cant remember the last time I used this combo). So obviously my color choices aren’t always ‘by the book’, but these are some of the shades and tampering effects that often feel right to me!
Aries: Red, black, gold, mushroom grey & maroon/warm-almost-purples
Taurus: Dusty pink, green, brown, sky blue & beige
Gemini: green, neons (esp pink and blue) & stark color clashes of any kind
Cancer: blues (usually lighter shades), pink, seafoam, most pastels & pearlescent shimmers
Leo: gold, white, hickory brown, yellow, dark blue
Virgo: Earthy brown tones, olive green, mustard, cream
Libra: Pale pink, grey, champagne beige & satin effects
Scorpio: black, hot pink, mauve, witchy purple & blur effects
Sagittarius: orange, green, red, cerulean blue, magenta and vintage filter effects
Capricorn: black, white, navy, dark brown & crisp photo quality
Aquarius: sea blue, beige, yellow & ivory
Pisces: purple, sea green, bright blue, lavender & faux Polaroid light glitches
Like I said, though, some of these might be off base in the traditional sense! Do any of you guys have a weird color you associate with a sign?

Oh, I did the thing and cosplayed 9S from NieR:Automata at Desucon!
Here’s something rambled about the making of-process, because I’m a lazy piece of shit and I always forget to take WIP-pictures.
Materials: Cotton-based velvet (Eurokangas, SIMONETTA), suede-imitation (Eurokangas), acetate (kankaita.com), bridal chiffon (Eurokangas), faux leather (Eurokangas), soft foam (Hobby point), Black Worbla, Folk Art-acrylic paint (Sinelli, Tone: Champagne), spray paint, lots of leather paint, ~150 meters of moulin thread (Hobby point, Tone: 3865) Time: Around 100-120 hours.
Jacket: I started the costume with 9S' jacket, since I knew it was going to be the most time-consuming part of the costume. I made few prototypes before working with the real thing. Sewing the pieces together took me around an hour, but then came the embroidering, which took me ~40 hours, or even more. At first I made the stitches next to the seams with quite long stitch, but after I had finished embroidering the hem patterns, the length of the seam-stitches bugged me so much, I remade them. I drew the pattern of the hem embroidery to a piece of cotton fabric at first, then tacked it to the bodice and then embroidered with moulin thread. I decided to use moulin thread in 3865 for the reason, it was not pure white. Shade 3865 has a slight, I don't know, super light silver/light grey/light beige(?) tint on it and you can't really tell a difference between it and pure white unless you compare them side to side - then the difference is really noticeable. Lining was made of acetate and I pretty much sew it completely by hand to the bodice. Buttons were made of worbla and spray paint. I already had pretty good base for the buttons, so I rolled and stretched worbla on top of it to create this weird pattern animators nowadays seems to be crazy about, and sprayed them with golden spray paint and finished it with sprayable matt-lack. The buttons are glued on the jacket, since I used press studs (diameter of 17mm) to keep the jacket closed. Xs on the seams are made of soft foam, which were covered with worbla and since these were the very last things I made to the costume, I was already at the place I stayed at during Desu, so I couldn't spray paint them, so I used the champagne-colored acrylic paint. I sewed them on with fishing line, but since I had been 40 hours awake, the crosses on the back were hot glued on. The cross that is on right-front is attached to the bodice with fishing line and on the parts that comes top of the front piece, there are press studs(diameter of 7mm), so I can open the jacket without further problems. Collar is made of suede imitation and velvet.
Pants: Well, there is not much to say about the pants. The pattern was super simple; they're made of velvet, buttons are made the same way like the ones in jacket.
Bag: This one was tricky and I had to made it twice before I was somehow satisfied to the result. I couldn't find really dark olive green leather anywhere, so I had to paint the bag after I had sown it. At first I used green and matte-black spray paint to create the color, but after a while I realized that the material didn't absorb the color at all and it was sticky everywhere, even though the spray paint's description said, it was also suitable for leather. I googled the thing and found an article, where people were discussing about the same matter and said, if the thing X was made of vinyl, it could not absorb the paint well. I checked the tag and realized the whole bag was vinyl covered, so I had to made a new one. This one I did not spray paint. I mixed blue, yellow and black leather paint together and then painted the bag, but the color still stayed a bit too blue-ish. The bell is made of softfoam covered with worbla and painted with golden spray paint. So, this is one thing I'm going to remake to my costume.
Choker: Choker was the easiest thing to make. I made the collar around 2,5 cm wide and then to the middle of it I sewed 1cm wide leather stripe. The tag was made of softfoam and worbla and the IX I painted on with acrylic paint. I'm actually really satisfied with the result, but I'm still going to make at least the tag-thing again, since I want the dimensional effect on it, and it was maybe slightly too thick to my own taste.
Blindfold: It's made of bridal chiffon. At first I thought of using organza and tulle, but thank God I found chiffon in time. I wanted to see around myself and by using the chiffon, it was possible. I could literally see everything, but no one could see behind the blindfold. I folded the fabric three times, so it was thick enough. There's one con in chiffon; it's super slippery and combined with a wig, it's 100% quaranteed it's going to slip away if not attached somehow, so I sew one clip-on-things (used f.e. clip-on hair extensions) on both sides of the fold and then when I wore it, I clipped them on to the net of my wig.
Shoes: I bought the perfect base from UFF. Bootcovers were made of quite thin, slightly stretchy, matte leather imitation and the straps are softfoam covered with the same leather imitation and making them was pretty much just using hot glue and contact glue. I'm going to remake the straps and cuffs when I actually have time.
Gloves. I frigging hated making these gloves. I have made gloves once earlier in my life, and the result of them was quite horrible. I made around 10 gloves before I was somehow satisfied with the result. I used the same material I used to make the boots, but for the second pair of gloves I have ever made, they're pretty good. I put softfoam to the cuffs to make them stiffer and the strap with the belt buckle is made of the same faux leather I used to make the bag.
Hoping to get some better pics about the costume soon uwu
