Well, now that was a question. How often had he seen people get excited about bones? Perhaps not a lot. Serendipity paused, before eventually tilting his head from side to side.

" Perhaps it's a bit odd, " he admitted. " But, you'll find a lot of folks who get excited about odd things. Personally I get...perhaps a bit too excited when I see someone wearing anything with a raised stem stitch, or when they mention this one particular sonnet I was obsessed with back in the day. I'm passionate about those things -- and you happen to be passionate about bones, is all! Could come in handy one of these days, especially now. "

He set the staff down in between himself and Puck, before resting his hands on his knees. " If you don't mind me asking, though, what makes them so interesting to you? I know some people like making broths or stocks, and I've heard of others using them in potions. Planning on brewing something nefarious? "

he hadn't expected him to actually indulge the question. really, puck was prepared to bash his own head into the nearest tree for ever opening his mouth, but serendipity seemed to spare him the trouble and allowed for the question to be, in fact, completely normal. they didn't necessarily have to be goblin bones. that was just what came to mind first. they ran into so many goblins these days—it was easy to get his hands on them. any bones would work just as well, though. he had piles of them in the corner of his tent, neatly & lovingly sorted by species. it was a habit he didn't remember picking up until one day he woke and found his bedroll surrounded by a sea of bones. ( he started reconstructing skeletons with what he'd collected as a way to wind down. like a puzzle. he liked puzzles. ) at the mention of worg teeth, he lit up, eyes sparkling with a child-like eagerness. he gasped, ‘ oh, lemme see !! ’ reaching forward, but then he retracted his hand almost immediately. he brought it up to scratch behind his ear, grimacing. ‘ be honest, is it ... odd ... to get excited about bones ? ’

His hoarding tendencies must be a poorly kept secret by now. Most of the stuff is bartered away at the next merchant for a health potion, sure, but it still jingles with every step in his pack. Serendipity considers the question, before going rummaging.
