Stable Diffusion for Idiots (me)
I'm no good at drawing. Trying this thing for over a decade but I've never had enough patience to perfect the skill. So. I can draw sloppy portraits and still somehow I want to create a comic book.
I have an idea, a plot, characters, all pack, except the crucial part where I can draw. It would be a very tragic story but I thought wow, wait a minute. Thank Merlin, we have AI now! That can do things for us.
So when I dropped the idea of actually drawing myself I started to explore Stable Diffusion. It turned out that that shitty stubborn thing understands concept art even worse than me. But I really hope it's just a start and we will find the right level of connection and understanding.
Currently, I barely understand how to launch SD, what models are and how to install them, and how to write simple prompts. You have no idea how long I read all the code and tried to grasp it. So when I got my first worst image in the world I was freakingly happy.
Here it is. Just look how perfectly dreadful these men are but they are holding hands 🥰
Tumblr media
Today I learned useful settings, how to get more accurate images, how to fix faces merlin this part was killing me. But look! This young man already looks like a human being after just one try!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so I continued to prompt something more interesting just for the sake of experimenting with the model. That's how it sees da Vinci portraits of a blond-haired man.
Tumblr media
This was a pretty one. We also have something that looks like Igor Nikolaev by da Vinci and it wasn't intentional I swear 😂 (on the right is actual Igor Nikolaev's photo)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last funny beat for today, I was trying to do something with Daniel Bruhl without any understanding of what I was doing (I had 3 minutes till the end of my VM session so I had to work quickly. Do not repeat this at home, kids 😆)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank you for reading this for some reason.
I'm really excited to continue my journey with Stable Diffusion and I have huge hopes on what I can eventually get with some amount of determination. And so here will be The History of this journey.
Wish me luck and inspiration 🤞🙏

TFATWS 1.06
I have so many issues with the entire script, but overall the final episode provided the neatness that the MCU world needed (yay, no more stray super soldiers!), while ignoring gaping plot-holes it dug for itself throughout the series.
Zemo: while I loved what Daniel Bruhl did with the character, the sheer amount of deus ex machina that occurred to include this character is phenomenal. Starting with Bucky making a completely uncharacteristic and self-destructive decision that out of all the contacts he knew from 70 years of working for Hydra, this Sokovian special op who tried to use him to kill half the Avengers was going to be the only expert on Hydra they have. Sam then makes an entirely uncharacteristic and bewildering decision to agree to take Zemo illegally. The entire world except Wakanda then makes the uncharacteristic decision to just ignore the fact a terrorist has broken out of jail, and in fact there is absolutely no consequence for Bucky. Ironically, the entire super soldier serum issue had nothing to do with Hydra, from its production, to its funding, to its theft or its users. Yes, Zemo was a great help in tricking the refugee kids in telling him information, but why couldn't this have been made to be a character moment for one of the two leads?
Karli: there are fantastic videos on YouTube explaining the deleted virus subplot that would have made the Flagsmashers and Karli so much more sympathetic. The idea of a plague background with a vaccine shortage, and people dying en masse because of inequity or obstructive governments would have given Karli powerful justifications for her increasingly radical actions. In a story like that, she would have died a martyr, but instead we're left with shredded hints of their motivations, a Mama Donya who we only meet in death, a meaningless chant that sounds creepily similar to the Chinese Communist Party's push for One Belt One Road, and no concrete plans or goals that suggest her fight would be worth it. Erin Kellyman did a beautiful job with this idealistic young woman driven to desperation, but the script failed her.
Walker: I like that they decided to make him do something good towards the end, but it also undermines what a redemption arc actually means. He gives up, momentarily, his pursuit of Karli in order to save the van, but has he really learned anything? Has he learned about his prejudices, his arrogance, his recklessness, or his anger issues? No. The blonde blue-eyed boy does one good deed and both Bucky and Sam welcome him into the team, which I thought was the whole point this series is trying to condemn.
Sam: I love what we saw of Sam in the last 2 episodes, but it should have been much more. His growth was all about agency: he took up the mantle on his own terms, in his own time; he tells Bucky to take control of his own identity, and in the end, he publicly calls out the Council for not giving agency to the people who need to be heard. What's frustrating and ironic is that in the first 4 episodes, Sam's role was passive. That's the other problem with including Zemo, because Zemo became the major driver of moving the plot along until they met Karli - in a series where both main characters needed more development. Apart from that one emotional scene of Sam cradling the shield, the script doesn't give him the backstory or the emotional range that Anthony Mackie deserves.
Bucky: I've already harped on about my views on how the series has insisted that Bucky makes amends. They've tried to force a redemption arc on him when what he needs is also agency. He repeatedly tells fellow super soldiers "believe me, don't go down that path" but the frustrating thing is, he never had the choice that they do, and this is never acknowledged by the script except in that 2 second exchange with Yori. His defining characteristic is Trauma, but nothing else is developed beyond that. What motivates him? What does he believe in? What does he fight for, when he's said he's tired of fighting? Even the trauma itself - why is there nothing else apart from guilt? Is there no anger towards his oppressors? No vengefulness? No grief about what he's lost? No fear about the pain he endured?
I've seen meta questioning Bucky's attachment to the Cap legacy, and I agree. Bucky followed Steve - in all 3 movies, he explicitly followed Steve and not the shield. As much as I love the proud, affectionate gaze he bestowed on Sam during Sam's speech, I almost wish we got a version of "I'm following the little guy from Brooklyn" here, rather than the "Nice job, Cap." It's Sam trying to give a voice to the ignored and oppressed that makes him someone Bucky wants to follow, particularly as this was personally identifiable for Bucky, who was kept voiceless for 70 years. I wish this was the point rather than Bucky's incoherent belief that the shield was "family" especially when Steve abandoned the shield every time he chose to help Bucky.
I have so much frustrations with the script because it could have been something more. Sam deserves something as emotionally poignant and universally relatable as Steve's backstory. Bucky deserved to be more than just a broken man defined solely by his trauma. The camaraderie developed so hastily in the last 2 episodes it felt more like watching Anthony and Sebastian than it did their respective characters. Maybe this will get better when I rewatch it in a few months, because watching things weekly definitely gives you time to pick at the little things. I wonder what would have been if Covid didn't happen and they didn't have to scramble the plot.

Rant because i’m mad
TW: N@zis and my anger
I’m fucking sick and tired of people in the Bruhl fandom simping for fucking N@zi’s and trying to disguise it like its okay. Daniel has about 50 film credits, several of which are not N@zi’s. It is so simple to not write about N@zi characters yet people insist. It’s disgusting. Choose other characters. Make an AU of Daniel himself. Being a N@zi is a critical aspect of these characters and it’s disgusting but certain stories should be told. Do you like Daniel in 2009? he has several other films from that same year. You like him beefy and blonde like in The Zoo Keeper’s wife? Do what several other people have done and use Dirk Bruhlee as a vessel because it was the same look. You think I'm overreacting? oh well, I don’t care. How about you try harder and use more than half a brain cell to try and decipher why not being able to help but drool over N@zis are bad, I'm not helping you.

But is it gay endgame???
Nope no it’s a straight comfort watch where you know all along he WILL end up succeeding with his restaurant and date this blonde chick. But then this unrequited gay subplot comes to a head only half way through the movie and yes he ends up with the girl but she turns out to be unnecessary to the plot and bradley cooper and daniel bruhl keep staring at each other and smiling also matthew rhys is his ex boyfriend...I’m mainly blogging about it because I went it not knowing Any Of This

How The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Finally Gives Sharon Carter Her Due
https://ift.tt/3mkhmr5
This article contains THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER spoilers.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has its fair share of issues: The bizarrely uneven pacing, the mixed messages about capitalism and propaganda, the fact that Flag Smashers is literally the stupidest name for a villain supergroup in history even if they do exist in the comics. But like WandaVision before it, the series truly excels at giving multiple sidelined Marvel Cinematic Universe characters a chance to finally step forward into their own stories.
In just three episodes of this Disney+ series, we’ve already seen more acknowledgment of Sam’s struggle as a Black superhero than we have in any other MCU property. We’ve watched Bucky Barnes – arguably the franchise’s most tortured, damaged soul – seek help for his mental health struggles, try to facilitate restoration for his former victims, and bring justice to those he worked for as the villainous Winter Soldier. The show has barely scratched the surface of his complex relationship with Steve Rogers and his apparent obsession with his BFF’s legacy, but there’s every likelihood we’ll circle back to it eventually. Someone has to take up that shield, after all.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
Third episode “Power Broker” brings back another familiar face in Sharon Carter, a character who is more often remembered for the uber-awkward kiss she shared with her aunt’s once and future boyfriend in Captain America: Civil War than for any actual specifics about her personality. Her brief appearances in the films have established that she’s intelligent, a pretty decent hand-to-hand fighter, and determined to do the right thing, no matter the consequences (thanks for that lesson, Aunt Peggy). Heck, she even single-handedly led an insurrection to try and save SHIELD way back when it was taken over by Hydra in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Yet, despite all that, the character simply could not catch a break, either onscreen or among the MCU franchise’s fandom. The fact that Sharon’s presence in Civil War is largely used to reassert Steve Rogers’ heterosexual status rather than to explore any actual aspect of who she is or what she wants makes her presence in the story seem pointless, and though she has appeared in two separate MCU films, the franchise has never bothered to give her much of a personality beyond a sort of blonde civil servant archetype.
Thankfully, that seems to finally be changing. Because the Sharon Carter who appears in Madripoor feels like a woman we’ve literally been waiting years to meet.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 3 Ending Explained
By Jim Dandy
TV
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 3: Marvel and MCU Easter Eggs Guide
By Kirsten Howard and 3 others
Gone is the All-American girl positioned as a perfect match for Captain America. In her place is a Sharon Carter that’s been hardened by life in a dangerous world of bad luck and worse choices. She’s apparently the only person still paying for her involvement in the events of Civil War, and all her former teammates and supposed friends were clearly content to let her languish in a country without extradition laws, rather than help clear her name. (Don’t get me wrong I love Bucky, but he got a pardon already, didn’t he? For crimes that were a whole lot worse than anything Sharon did?)
Her bitter, jaded attitude rings true for someone who not only had to say goodbye to everything she cared about but had to relearn how to exist in a post-Blip world without any of the signposts that had previously defined her identity (and not for nothing, but it also makes her a lot more interesting and layered than she’s ever been allowed to be before). Of course, Sharon now seems pretty cynical about things like the Avengers and the culture of superheroes that surround them – but what did any of them do for her except literally ruin her life?
This is a Sharon who has not only learned how to fend for herself, she’s now a woman with real agency who doesn’t apologize for having choices or making them. Yes, she’s lost her idealism and her moral compass appears to have become a bit tarnished in the years since Civil War, but can we really judge her for that when Bucky and Sam are out here breaking a mass murderer out of jail? Sharon fences stolen art, sure, but only because she’s been caught up in the crossfire of events that aren’t and haven’t ever been her fault. Her life has become collateral damage to something much bigger than she is, and the institutions she spent her life serving didn’t show up to save her. She had to save herself instead, and those kinds of lessons are difficult to forget.
All of this makes Sharon “kind of awful now” according to Bucky, which is the sort of offhand comment that is theoretically supposed to be a joke, except these two have never been that kind of friends and this is a franchise that has, in the past, been wildly reluctant to acknowledge that its female characters can and should be allowed to encompass the same shades of grey as its men. In reality, these experiences have left Sharon as three-dimensional and layered as either of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s heroes, with her own private griefs and rage.
This rage is most clearly expressed in her positively brutal fighting style, which now involves deadly accurate knife-throwing skills and a much more violent hand-to-hand technique. Her face-off with a gang of local thugs is one of the best in MCU history, and the fact that she’s allowed such a scene feels like a significant step forward for a character who not very long ago seemed doomed to languish as little more than a love interest.
Yes, it’s a bit disappointing that Baron Zemo ultimately gets more screen time in “Power Broker” than Sharon does – no matter how charming Daniel Bruhl trying to dance might be – but it seems evident that this won’t be the last we’ll see of the former Agent 13. This episode repeatedly hints that there’s more to Sharon’s business in Madripoor than meets the eye – heck, she might even be the eponymous boss herself – and whatever she’s up to now, it’s probably not going to be strait-laced hero stuff. What a difference a few years in forced hiding makes, huh?

Okay but I'm all seriousness some of the things I love best about him are:
the fact that he can speak so many languages and is very multicultural. I think it's so important that we try to understand and be culturally relevant to others around the world and I love that he kinda promotes that not only they his family background, but also through his work. Also like yeah speak to me as your goddess in Spanish, your whore in French, and your horse (ride a cowboy?) In German
That boy can literally pull off every look. Clean shaven, stubble, full beard (Jesus Christ he can grow a beard), even pornstache. Long hair, medium hair, short hair, curly hair, straight hair, black hair, auburn hair, blonde hair. Muscular, skinny boy, dad bod. There's nothing this man can't do physically.
I also like that he appears to be very open about stuff, especially like his inner thoughts and mental health. He's not afraid to talk about what he feels and to be honest with it. In one interview he talked about how when he's got stuff going on in his head that he doesn't want to bring home around his kids and wife he straight up talks about it with her and then will get himself back in the right headspace for the rest of his family. I think that's great that he puts so much emphasis on his mental health and the happiness of his family. He just vibes as someone with good communication and understanding skills.
Iknow this is #4 but he's an idiot and I love that for him.
