Maybe a drabble of a King meeting a Blindberry?
Blind Sided
The Kings did not refer to the feral cat colony living in the alley next to the shop as a cat problem, and they certainly disapproved when other people referred to it that way. The Kings made sure that the cats were fed and protected. They also organized a catch and release effort so that the cats in the alley could receive necessary medical care and spay/neuter procedures. The cats of the colony were better cared for than some indoor cats, and caused no problems except constantly melting the hearts of Kings living in the shop.
One warm summer morning after a thunderstorm, one of the Kings slithered outside to check on the felines. As soon as he passed through the door into the alley, he heard the sound of teeny tiny shouting. Cats make a wide variety of noises, but they aren’t (usually) capable of human speech. The words cut off into a deafening screech of terror and pain. Following the shrieks, the King found one of the feral cats with a strange bitty clutched in its jaws.
Darting forward, the King blocked the cat’s escape from the alley. Firmly but gently he grabbed hold of the bitty, petting the cat to calm it while he carefully extracted the bitty from the danger zone. Reaching into a pouch at his waist, the King offered the cat a few treats as a thank you for being patient and giving up its prey. The cat sneezed haughtily and walked away with its tail high in the air, making it very clear that both the King and the bitty he had rescued were not worth its attention.
The King lifted his hands, peering at the bitty who trembled in his grasp. At first, he mistook the small creature for a Brassberry bitty… until he noticed the cloth covering its eyes. He’d never met a Blindberry before, but he recognized the timid bitty from descriptions he’d heard. Since the bitty wouldn’t be able to tell on his own if the danger had passed, the King whispered reassurances to him as he carried him into the shop.
When the King tried to place the terrified bitty onto the examining table so the Nurse Papythons could check him for injuries, the Blindberry clung to his hands with a vice-like grip. No amount of comforting words could dislodge him, and the King’s SOUL warmed at the thought of being such a trusted protector. The Nurse Papythons treated the Blindberry for a few cuts and scrapes with their green magic, but thankfully, he had no serious injuries from his kitty encounter.
The Blindberry nudged the King’s hand as they left the Infirmary. When the King leaned his head down to listen, the Blindberry informed him that he was hungry, starving actually. Absently rubbing the Blindberry’s itsy bitsy back, the King slithered into the storage pantry to find a snack for his new tiny charge. When asked about his favorite foods, the Blindberry rattled off a short list of baked goods, candies, and meat- all items that Vex kept on hand in the shop.
The King selected a cupcake and a slice of ham, both of which were nearly as large as the Blindberry himself, and carried the smaller bitty to his nest to eat in safety and comfort. The Blindberry ate until the King worried that he might explode. After the meal, the Blindberry yawned hugely, and the King offered to get him some blankets and pillows to sleep on. The Blindberry shook his head emphatically.
“I want to stay with you!” the Blindberry declared, and the King didn’t argue. He liked this bitty. The Blindberry reminded him of a cute little kitten.
In the days that followed, the Blindberry ran around exploring the shop with the helpful King slithering along behind him, warning him of any obstacles in his path. The King folded his scarf into a carrying pouch for the Blindberry whenever the bitty wore himself out. Each night, the King curled himself in a circle around the Blindberry to prevent him from wandering off and getting lost or injured.
The Blindberry had been living in the shop for over a week when the King overheard Vex mentioning a Blindberry over the phone.
“-found a Blindberry in the alley. It might be the one you’re looking for,” Vex said to the caller. Spotting the King, she waved him over. The Blindberry kept one hand pressed to the King’s tail while Vex explained the situation to them. A bitty rescue center was calling other bitty shops in the area to help a distraught owner track down their lost Blindberry. Vex described the owner, and the Blindberry spoke up.
“That’s my owner!”
Vex passed the information to the caller, and the King’s large body drooped a bit. The Blindberry had an owner who was looking for him. He was going to leave, to go home. The King felt happy that the two would be reunited, but he would miss the Blindberry’s company. The Blindberry patted the King’s scaly tail until the much larger bitty picked him up. The Blindberry curled up and fell asleep nuzzling his temporary caretaker’s hands.
The owner burst into the shop a few hours later like a cyclone, tension subsiding into relief when they saw the King standing at the front desk with their missing Blindberry in his cupped hands.
“Oh stars, thank you for finding him! A branch fell and broke one of our windows during the thunderstorm, and my poor little guy got disoriented and wandered outside. I’m just so glad he’s alright,” the owner babbled breathlessly, reaching for their Blindberry.
The Blindberry awoke with a massive yawn, stretching like one of the cats who’d almost dusted him. He recognized his owner’s voice immediately and leapt to his little feet. When they touched him to let him know that they were close, he purred softly, then latched onto the King’s long phalanges. Though his owner tugged him gently, the Blindberry refused to relinquish his hold.
With an exasperated sigh, the owner looked the King up and down.
“I don’t suppose you’re interested in coming home with us? I’d actually appreciate having someone around to help keep an eye on him, especially when I’m not home,” they offered, and the King would’ve jumped for joy if it wasn’t so undignified. The Blindberry had no such reservations involving dignity, and shouted loudly with joy, dancing around in the King’s hands.
The happy reunion became a happy adoption and an even happier homecoming.

Prices Paid
[Writing Music:  https://youtu.be/wOGpmQa5QCE]
It is gone.  I don’t feel the weight of the taint along my soul anymore.  I don’t feel sluggish, stuck in place where all I could do was wait and try to scrounge up the hope that everyone around me was holding onto.
I know how this story was supposed to end.  There is no happy ending for someone touched by the void, not when it catches up to you before you breathe your last.  This time was different, and unlike Edda, somehow I made it through with my memories and soul intact.
I remember now, I remember when I was him and he was me.  I remember running under the canopy of jungle leaves with Parvarti, the purest hope and love cradled between our twined fingers.  Oh the things we did, the freedom we had under the azure sky.  We were blessed by the gods, decorated in gold and crimson as we danced, fought, celebrated and mourned.  We lived, oh how we lived.
It wasn’t all good, we burned and suffered like any other.  Endured the weight of expectations that we were not suited for, felt the wounds of a life hard lived upon our bodies and souls.  But, we had each other and so we danced, helping each other up when we stumbled and fell, cuddled close at night and whispered our fears to the other and mourned our broken dreams in the arms of someone safe.
All the while we knew doom hunted us, the circle of sun brightened sky above our heads growing smaller and smaller each day.  Our people died in defense of land, just a few here and there at first.  By the time we were adults it was too many for our people to survive. But we still fought, we still hoped.  The gods had promised, as long as the Guardians stood and the feet of the royal line ran under the jungle trees, our home would remain.
It was difficult, but it seemed possible to exist and maybe even recover. The Guardians were ever vigilant, but showing cracks along their massive, stone forms from the constant fighting.  Then father fell and mother, in the madness of her grief, swore vengeance for those that took him from her.  She and her personal guards left with their faces blackened with soot, each one the walking embodiment of death.
I, no Anil, never saw her again.  Well, no, that’s not right.  I remember now.  He never saw her as a person again, the void claimed her in the end.  The sorrow he felt as he tore out her throat in the madness that gripped him when Parvarti died was something he felt later, another wound upon a soul that couldn’t tolerate anymore   But, that was later.  That’s when the story turned from love to desperation.
The two took on the mantle of monarchs when three days passed and the Queen and her guard didn’t come back.   Now it was just Parvarti and I.. no him.  Parvati and him that held the promise to the gods for their dwindling people.   Even in their youth they could feel the doom laid across their shoulders.  They were the hope of their entire people.  Too young, too fragile for such a burden, yet they still lived.  They ran and fought and hoped and loved and lived.
Until the void caught up with them and they both should have fell.  Parvati carried hope with her, so I, Anil.. His name was, is?, Anil.  Anil played the bait so she could get away.  It worked for a while, the game he played.  Sending messages along the bond they had, making certain that she would know how and when to dance and fight so they could live.
Even with that help, one day the dance ended and the boon the gods gifted the land of Toki Arang was no more.  I don’t know exactly what happened to her, or what she became.  Anil believes that the Void took her, but I’m not sure.  How could she stop him every time he rises to power if she was of the Void?  How could she bring light to the darkness that we fought in if she was the same as him?
It’s a mystery I’ll never solve along with several others. He and I were the same, yet not.  It made no sense, I’ve seen glimpses of other times I’ve risen from the River and walked the star.  It felt like that, but it couldn’t be that.  How could he be a life I lived and still exist while I did? Isn’t the Void another place?  Was our soul released when the Void took him?  No, that’s not right.  I’ve seen what happens then.  This was definitely not that.  But what was it?  Does it matter now that it’s over?  Likely not.
Anil showed me the life he shared with Parvati as we fought.  I felt all of the joy of their existence, then the pain of the ages that passed since the Guardians tumbled into a pile of rubble moments after Parvati fell.  If I was not Seer of the Uyagir I believe his gambit would have worked, the weight of such a long Memory would have crushed me.  Instead is now part of what I already carry, another story to teach within the Living Memory of the tribe.  Even with that protection? I could see myself within him, it would have been easy to grasp the hand offered instead of fighting it.
An eternity with Tol... Parvati’s hand to hold.  A kingdom to rebuild and rule, a people to nurture? It was all I’ve wanted since I was young.  No, not exactly.  I never wanted a kingdom, something smaller is the form of my dreams.  Yet, I can’t deny that his tainted vision resonated within my heart.  I could feel the incessant pull agree, to succumb to the corrupted fantasy he wove before my eyes and within my mind.
It, it makes no sense to me still how right it felt as the thorns grew through my hand, the spikes pumping motes of his essence to flow through my body with every frantic beat of my heart.  It felt like I was coming home, like I was finding something that was lost. I knew I wouldn’t be me anymore, that I would be a Lord of the Void.  But he wouldn’t have been him either.  We would have been more, no greater, than we were.  Somehow becoming closer to being whole?
I remember more than that sometimes as I sit in the darkness that shrouds my eyes, flickers of other things that shouldn’t be.  A place that holds shadows of the present, or does the present hold pieces of it?  I don’t know, but when I see those fractured rembrences I feel a yearning in my heart that is only rivaled by the love I have for my family.
Anil felt it too, I could see the towers of that place reflected in his eyes as his might faltered in the fury of the attacks upon him.  I don’t know what called Parvarti, not exactly.  Was it the rising of his power, his perverted love for her, or when he was steps from destruction?  Perhaps she was there all along, but needed him to call for hi-her and then needed our help to deny Anil his dream.
Gods, how much strength does it take to shatter the dream of someone you love over and over like Parvarti has?  How much of her does it rip away every time?  I wonder, but I hope I never find out either.  She has strength beyond what I can fathom.
I saw them one last time as I fell towards my body, towards home.  They were huddled together as if cuddling to sleep. It wasn’t that simple though, Anil’s arms were slack around Parvati instead of holding her close like one would expect.  She had her head tucked into his shoulder and was shaking like she was crying.  Then I could hear it, the wordless dirge she was singing, voice rising from high to low then back up again, cracking from time to time in the presence of her grief.  It ended in a high note, her ethereal voice causing fractures to spread out along Anil’s too still form.
They didn’t stop there though, once the sickly green cracks glowed along Anil’s body they flowed from him to her.  Upon her body the lines showed bright, a crystalline blue white that gleamed like a beacon in the darkness.  With the first crack upon her, she lifted her head to look towards me with a smile filled with warmth and sorrow.  A heart beat passed before her  voice rose in song once more.  It was a beautiful thing, a crescendo of too many emotions to easily identify that abruptly ended as the cracks upon the couple ruptured into a flurry of sharp edged shards.  As I left, the shining motes of light and dark chased after me until I was back within my body and could see no more.
I will never forget that moment, the reflection of emotions in her expression and song that simple words can’t do justice to.  Fatigue, sorrow, joy, love, gratitude, sympathy, and so much more glimmered within the depths of her star bright eyes.  Forgiveness too, that particular note easy to pick out among the rest of the song.  Perhaps it is silly to compare emotions to music, but even what was in her eyes was more heard than felt.
Perhaps that was the first warning I was given as to the price for reaching for what should be impossible.  There is always a price after all.  I, I hoped it was a wound.  Something that would heal.  I, I still do hope, truth be told.   Xaela heal quickly and well, even as they get older they retain that trait.  It’s needed to survive life on the Steppes after all.  Horns grow back, why can’t vision be repaired?
I, I should stop lying to myself.  But maybe if I wait just a few more days, maybe?  Maybe it will get better.  We achieved so much, if I’m careful maybe I can have this too?  I don’t know how to carry the weight of this and the memories of what I was forced to do.  Every time Tolemy flinches away from my touch it hurts so much.  Sometimes it feels as if to breathe is to risk drowning in what has happened and what might be.
No, I’ve paid enough with what Anil forced me to do. That has to have been enough.  I’ll be fine, I need more time to heal.  That’s all.  I need more time.
Maybe...

This is Ace, my Blindberry! He is a quiet little sweetheart. I don't know much about his past, but I don't ask. I don't want him to be uncomfortable. I made him these rad summer clothes, since it's so hot where I live. He's pretty OK with the heat, I just have to wash his head a bit more often (due to sweat). Oh well. I love him anyways!

After a few months of thinking, I’ve decided to adopt a Blindberry from @ammazolie!
It’s probably gonna be a tough months ahead with how skittish he is but I’m willing to work from home in order to support him.
I’m thinking of naming him Bil (as in Bilberry) and I’m gonna try and learn to sew some new clothes for him unless I can find a place that sells bitty clothes...
I’ve prepared a little place for him to sleep and all that and I hope he’ll have a nice time living with me.

My first bitty design was Alpha Gaster!
Tumblr media
This is the second reference sheet I have done of him, the first one I can't find at moment =w=' The concept of Gaster Wing Dings always have to get my curiosity and then the concept of the Gaster Blaster of sans, one thing brings the other and then the concept of my AlphaGaster have come up... I was pretty deep in the Omegaverse concept, seeing a lot of one-shots, comics, and fanfictions.

blindberry is finally home!!
he spent the first few hours practically clinging to my hand, but he got to meet the rest of the bitty clan!
he's still pretty nervous around most of the bitties, it was a miracle and a half that we managed to get a new family picture. berry's been keeping close to me most of the time, but he's warmed up pretty quickly to blue and grizz (the amputee rescue bitties.)
it'll take a while for things to settle. until then, we'll all be here to support him!
special thanks to @otomecrazy and @vex-bittys!!!

hey, i'm not sure if you remember me, but i was the corny-personality owner who adopted a chain awhile back? well, it seems like a little krait hitched along for the ride. he must've snuck into my hoodie pocket when i fell asleep. i recently found him sneaking about in my home, and the poor little guy hasn't stopped going on about this pygmy friend of his ever since.
*You’re glad that you found your stowaway Krait sneaking around the house. Now you can make his adoption official and help him find his long-lost Pygmy as well. You re-enter the shop with the Krait the same way you unintentionally left with him: in your pocket. He’s peeking out though, pointing you excitedly in the direction where his friend might be.
*You pass the front desk and head for the Pygmy nests in the center of the shop. The Pygmies aren’t in their nests, though; they are zooming around and chasing toys on make-believe hunts. The Krait scans the group of quick-moving blurs of iridescent blue, then shakes his head. You have no idea how he can tell that his friend isn’t among them, but you trust him to know.
*The Krait pats you to get your attention, then directs you towards the Krait play pools.  You’re not sure why he wants to visit the Kraits, but you follow his directions. You actually think it might be a better idea to go to the front desk and ask about the Pygmy. The Krait is already making urgent chirps as you get close to the pools though, and you soon see why. A Pygmy is laying by the pools, gazing mournfully into the water. He lifts his head when he hears the chirps from your Krait.
Tumblr media
(Artwork by redkammy)
*The Pygmy darts over and begins to zoom in circles around you, chirping up at the Krait who chirps down at him. Both of them are delighted to see each other again, and you couldn’t be happier. The Pygmy is moving too fast to be picked up, so you let him zoom with you to the front desk for paperwork. And there, sitting on the front desk, you see him. A Blindberry, hunched up as small as he get. As you fill out the papers for your lamias, you ask Vex about him.
* “He came in with some other bittybones, looking for a new home, but due to his inability to see, he’s extremely shy. He’s having a hard time being adopted because he doesn’t like to meet new people,” she explains. Proving her wrong, the Blindberry stands and shuffles slowly over to you. He snuffles your hand, and then hugs it. Your heart melts. “I’ll take him!”

I have a question about bittybones stitches. I know somewhere on here it said something about Stitches and Blindberrys getting along because stitches can just sew buttons onto the blindberrys bandage? So if stitches owner is blind and wears like a bandanna or something to cover up their eyes will they do the same?
yeah he will, you have to be careful he doesn’t try and remove your bandanna.

Dr. Lauren Derricks’ Journal
New Patient: Blindberry Acquired: Feb. 9, 2017 Previous Situation: Unknown
This is the first time I’ve had a Bitty specifically seek me out. He climbed in the window of my house, crashing into my pencil cup and startling Cherry into tears. At first I was hesitant because he looked tough, but then I noticed the blindfold and just picked him up, asking if he was okay.
He asked if I was Dr. Lauren Derricks and if this was the Better Places Ebott Bitty Rehabilitation Center. When I answered in the affirmative, surprised, he immediately clung to my finger and refused to let go -- begging for me to keep him as a patient.
He won’t tell me what kind of situation he came from, only that he made his way to my home and facility from the other side of the city. God, someone so small and blind making a journey like that terrifies me!
As soon as he lets go of my finger, my first order of business is to give him a bath... then get us both to sleep. I’ll figure out exactly what he’s been through in the morning.
Well, whatever it was, he’s safe now.

Artist: Blindberry Ghost Album: Blindberry Ghost Label: Concorde Music Company Genre: Alternative Rock Opener "The Awakening" turns out to just be a musical intro but it has loads going on, finally an intro with value. Then the vocals come on the next and it's just a bit too stripped back for me. The vocals have a few wobbles, no doubt the alternative bit, and whilst I like the flourishes that pop in it's really left until the whole all comes together for this to score. Sadly they strip it back again shortly afterwards. After the excitement of the intro it's a bit disappointing. As the tracks continue they throw in loads of ideas but seem to step away from them too often when the vocals come in. Is this the limitations of a three piece on show? I don't know but whatever the cause, the tracks generally promise then fall a tad short in delivery. That's a little annoying as it is clearly full of promise. In the end though the album feels like a watered down version of bigger alternative rock names. I'm tempted to suggest 30 Seconds but the vocal has none of Leto's angst. I'm left with mixed feelings. Parts I love but I just don't think they bring it together well enough. Some of the ideas are very smart but they seem to slide back to a safer place too often. 15/20
