Biography:

Once upon a time….

Odette was born into a strange position. Her mother was, and still is, the Council Member of the Water faction: Yael Odomye. A woman that is known to be as cold as a fish and as uncaring as a predator on the prowl. More secretly, her father is Cartwright, the Leader of the Crows of Hell, a career criminal that works for her mother.

She hadn’t been the consequence of love or violence, but just of two people sometimes sleeping with one another.

Therefore there wasn’t a family structure or the wish of having a ‘normal’ family structure by either of her parents. There was never a time when her parents lived together. She would either be at the Castle where the Council reigned or with her father and or Aunt Lavinia, who happened to be the crown princess of the Winter Court.

Her life had always sounded like a bizarre and senseless novel but to her it made sense.

From early on her mother had done her best to teach her how to be tough, but since Yael wasn’t a warm person their relationship wasn’t openly loving and soft. Sometimes, at the end of the day Yael would sneak into her room and sit with her, maybe read her a story. She would always tell her that she loved her, but that she knew she would never be a good mother, which is why she had found a nanny that would be this warm influence in her life.

As a child she hadn’t understood and as a teenager she had rebelled against her mother and hated her. Now that she was older she saw things differently. Of course she would’ve still prefered to have a loving mother, but she honestly believed that Yael had done the best that she could. Her mother did love her and did care about her, she just wasn’t able to openly act like that. Granted she wasn’t very close to her mother and she hardly ever reached out to her. But every few weeks Yael would contact her to ask her how she was.

One good thing was that her mother had picked a good nanny. Mary, a mermaid as well, had cared for her as if she had been her own so she had never lacked a person that would hold her if she was upset or kissed a sore knee.

Her father had also been a loving influence. Like her mother he tended to be reserved in public and he wasn’t too open about his emotions to most people, but despite being a surprise, she had been a good surprise for him. Whenever she wasn’t being schooled or he was busy with work, he would pick her up and spend time with her. Often he would teach her some tricks of the trade too.

He never planned to get her into his business, but he always thought that picking locks and the like were handy skills to have.

And then there was Lavinia, her fun aunt. While they weren’t related by blood, Lavinia was Carwright’s closest and most trusted friend. They were family, and so Odette was family to Lavinia as well. Since Lavinia had raised her own little brother, she knew how to handle children and had even bought a house in Fabledale to have a place where they could have sleepovers and just live, a home that wasn’t part of a crime business or the Council.

Being with her Dad and her Aunt were some of the fondest memories she had, and she was still close with both of them.

Her mother had wanted her to get a good education and her father was for it as well as long as it was something she wanted and so she went to college.

Maybe it was because she had spent so much free time working at the law firm Winter Court during summers or because it did help a lot to know the law when you wanted to do borderline illegal stuff, but it was a central point in her life. Even with her mother.

So she studied to be a lawyer. Now she is working at the law firm Winter Court and preparing to do her final exams to become a full fledged lawyer. While some people might think that she had gotten her job via nepotism, most people didn’t have a qualm with her working at her Aunt’s firm since she had been working there during the summers already and had been kept on her own merit. She might’ve gotten her first job there because the boss loved her but Lavinia would’ve never kept her as an employee if she hadn’t worked hard.

Despite the corrupt nature of her parents, she held a strong belief of justice in her heart. Maybe it was because Mary had instilled it in her or maybe Lavinia had done it, or maybe both. But she did believe in helping those less fortunate than herself and so it’s not a huge surprise that when she learned about the Vox Nomini the voice of the namegivers, the voice of everyone who was seen as a person by the laws of Naraya, standing for those who didn’t belong to a faction or were born Hybrids, she was interested.

She searched for the members and carefully let it be known that she was interested in what they were doing and one day she found a note in her letterbox, telling her where to go at a specific time.

It was the most reckless thing she had done in her life but she went, and just like her father, she was blessed with luck, because she god to meet an Agent of the VN and since then she helped wherever she could, using both her knowledge about the Council, her knowledge about the crimeworld, and her knowledge of law to further this organisation’s goals.

❖ She is trying to fight the good fight for the less fortunate in Fabedale, especially the ones that didn’t have representation in the Council. She has an easier access to the castle but has to be careful as her mother wouldn’t take the fall for it.

joy is here with another dumb teen to annoy everyone with. meet ezra, a trashy fuckboi who used to be Top Dog™ at houghton, but that all came crashing down last year when he got a lil too cocky for his own good. RIP. you can find the full tea on him on the character page, but here’s some extra stuff.

BASIC INFORMATION;

ABOUT;

unlike the majority of the students at houghton, ezra came from humble beginnings. a working class family from brooklyn, new york. his mother work at a hair salon and his father... well, we don’t really talk about that deadbeat anymore.

his parents were never married, but had a toxic on-and-off relationship. they would often get verbally and sometimes physically violent with each other, and would often neglect ezra and his younger sister, leaving him to take care of her.

one day, his mother met a rich doctor through the online dating on the internet. ezra was skeptic about the whole ordeal, because the guy was a lot older than his mother, but he turned out to be very caring and nurturing, and overall a good influence on his mother. they got married and the family moved to boston when ezra was 13 years old, because his step father was offered a job there.

ezra knew reputation meant everything at houghton, and being ‘nouveau riche’, he knew the preppy kids were going to look down on him, so, he pretended that his stepfather was his real father, and that he grew up on the upper east side of manhattan. a lie that would totally backfire on him later on.

being a blessed with handsome features, witty charm and a talent for dancing, ezra was quickly noticed by the in-crowd. he joined the windsors in his freshmen year, causing his popularity to sky-rocket. life at houghton went smoothly, he managed to get the co-captain position on the cheer squad in his sophomore year. around this time, ezra’s ego inflated to the max, and he thought he could lead the windsors. unfortunately for him, it was dante who was chosen as the new king of the school.

dante still thought of ezra as a threat, and rightfully so, because ezra was pretty determined to steal away the crown. to this day, ezra has no idea how dante found out about his real background story, but dante exposed him for his lies, outing him as nouveau riche and humiliating him in front of the entire school.

in a fit of anger, ezra started a fist fight with dante, which caused him to be expelled from school for a week and to lose his position on the cheer squad for being a bad rolemodel.

as an added ‘bonus’, the windsors exiled him for hurting their leader, so his popularity was basically pretty much done for. rip ezra ryu.

as for connections, i’m very open to anything, but i’d love some angst & drama, trashy hook-ups, bitter exes, that kind of shit.
