I always forget how busy the end of the year is. And there aren’t any spells to make caffeine stronger, make my brain remember more, or make me focus instead of falling asleep. believe me I’ve tried.

“You can tell it’s almost the end of the year with the amount of kids coming in here crying over one exam or another. And they’re definitely not going to believe the bar manager when I say it isn’t that big of a deal. Jokes on them, I could’ve worked anywhere I chose to work here.”

It’s time for the first official event of 2017 here at BLBC! And to start it all off we’re going to be trying out our first ever AU week! And the theme is, as you may have guessed from the header, Harry Potter!
EVENT DETAILS
When: Monday, April 24 - Sunday, April 30
Where: Hogwarts School of Witchraft and Wizardy
Extra: This event is complete fantasy where everything that happen in this dash event won’t affect your characters later on when we resume our regular roleplaying. It’s meant to be alternate universe and out of the ordinary, so embrace it and have fun!
Platform: Dash event. Please use the tag blbchogwarts for the starter tag the week of this event
PLOT FOR THE WEEK
The Muggle world has told stories of superheroes for years; they’ve even made countless comic books and movies based on the legends of such men and women as Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four… you’ve probably heard of them. You’re probably a Muggle yourself. Why are these fabled men and women so powerful, though, you may wonder? How can they be so powerful as to save the day time and time again? The answer is simple: the people we think of as superheroes are actually witches and wizards in disguise.
The year is now 2017, and Hogwarts is under entirely new management. The curriculum is still largely the same, but with an added powers class thrown in to help students learn how to turn their ordinary wizarding skills into heroic feats. Although, things have quieted down years after the war, there are still some leftovers who think pureblood reigns supreme and believe magic should be kept among the elites while muggle-borns should be kept separate and away from the wizarding world. However, they are the minority– purebloods being the rarest of rare nowadays– and with Minerva McGonagall, the current Headmistress, the doors of Hogwarts have opened their doors further to not just those with magical powers, but to the one group that is still harshly discriminated against: Squibs.
Despite not possessing an ounce of magic, Squibs still need to learn how to live in a world of magic. What better place to teach them how to navigate their way around a cauldron and show them the difference between a deadly mandrake and a harmless Mumbulus Mimbletonia than Hogwarts? However, many oppose this change and thing Squibs should simply acclimate to the muggle world, but regardless of the naysayers, Hogwarts has opened its doors for the first time ever to these once overlooked members of the wizarding world. Not only that, but the school has expanded to teach higher education where students can go onto an option eighth year for specific areas of studies: Aurors Studies, Healers Studies, Quidditch Studies, and Magical Government Studies.
Along with social advances, technological advances have also hit hogwarts in the form of the iOwl. This little owl looks just like any other owl, just on a much smaller scale and without the upkeep. They come in a variety of fun colors and just sit idle when not in use. When in use they act like a regular owl would, carrying little notes from person to person - something called text messages to the muggles - and can hold up to 1500 scrolls of parchment at any given time to complete this task. Subscriptions to wizarding newspapers and magazines as well as course notes can also be delivered to the iOwl, making them a useful convenience amongst the school now.
While the invitaion of squibs and the use of modern technology has hit the wizarding world, some things never change. Someone is always stirring up trouble. Now the question is, which side of the line do you stand on?

This event is semi-mandatory, as in it is up to you whether you want to participate or not, but really hope everyone to join the fun and try something new. If you prefer not to participate and prefer to sit the RP out while the AU is happening, that’s fine. There will be no activity checks during AU week. Similarly, if you have multiple characters, and don’t want to play on all of them, feel free to pick one or two to play with and let your other characters sit out. Again, you will not be penalized as we will suspend activity checks for AU week.
For some who are worried about not being able to finish the threads within the week time we provide for this event and feel discourage to join, we’re giving everyone few days head start on plotting and creating new head canons with other players from April 21 - April 23 so when the event starts, you can jump right into the plot. We highly encourage you to use this time to actually reach out and plot with as many people, try new connections and plots, the sky is your limit.
Answer all the questions above to create a mini bio for your characters who wish to participate in this event. Post the mini bio by Monday, 24 March 2017 11:59 PM EST at the latest, and please tag your mini bio by #blbchogwartsbio so everyone can check out info about your characters.

This is the first time we’re doing an AU week or event in this roleplay, so please keep that in mind an bear with us as things may get hectic on the main for a day or two leading up to the event. In the instance that it’s not well received, we have plans in action to end the event early if needed, but hope that won’t be the case and everyone will enjoy themselves.
HAVE FUN! That’s why we’re here after all.
