𝑨𝒎𝒆𝒏𝑱𝒆𝒏𝒂.

Trust did not come easy for Savannah Cadell. She struggled to let anyone in after her father began abusing her. It started as verbal abuse but it quickly turned to violence. He would punch her in the ribs and stomach, twist her arm behind her back or trip her up the stairs so she smacked her head on the concrete. He abused her until she finally fought back. 16 year old Savannah ducked when he went to hit her and he ended up hitting the wall but this proved to be a mistake. Her father stopped abusing her but instead, he abused her younger sister, Brea who was only 5 at the time.

The abuse was hard to deal with and at 17 years old, Savannah told someone about it. She had met a boy named Jaylen Davis. They met in school and had hit it off as friends immediately and then @audaciousintent​ became one of the most important people in Savannah’s life. With a lot of Jaylen’s help, she managed to get Brea out of that house. Jaylen’s uncle passed away and left him the house. Jaylen asked 21 year old Savannah to move in and they spent months working on the house and getting it ready for Brea to be able to move in.

It wasn’t as simple as moving her in. They needed Brea to have somewhere safe to go and so they needed to make sure the entire house was safe and suitable for a kid. When Savannah was 22, she was called to court and stood there as her parents gave up parental rights to Brea. She didn’t want Brea going into care so she agreed to take Brea in and become her legal guardian. At 23, she took official custody of Brea and basically adopted her. But it was all thanks to Jaylen that she was able to do this.

He had been the only man she had ever trusted and so when he proposed on her 24th birthday, she said ‘yes’. One month before her 25th birthday, she found out she was pregnant which was something they never thought would happen. Savannah suffered with PCOS and her pregnancy was marked a high risk. However, in early December, they welcomed a baby girl named Adalyn Blair Davis into the world. She became the light of their life and after her birth, they began planning the wedding seriously. 

Just after her 26th birthday, they couple were officially married and a little under a year after, she found out she was pregnant with her second. This pregnancy was also marked as a high risk but the couple just enjoyed every second of it. Soon enough, months flew by and Jaylen wanted one last trip together before they became a family of four. He planned the perfect trip away to a spa resort and had planned for a family friend - Ashlynn Thomas - to take care of Adalyn whilst Brea stayed with a friend. But Savannah knew nothing of this plan. Until date night. 

Once every two weeks, the couple made an effort to have a night together and so tonight was their date night. No kids. Just the two of them. Savannah was excited and had just finished her hair and make up and was now picking what to wear. She settled on a black dress which had a waistband just under her chest, sitting above her bump. It was comfortable and came down to her knee. It had lace detailing on the chest and a mesh fabric over the top of the skirt which gave it a lot of dimension. She had loosely curled her hair and moved it to one side, finishing the look with kitten heels in black and a clutch bag. She walked downstairs to her husband who was ready and waiting for her. 

“How do I look?” She asked, twirling in front of him in the front room of their home. “I mean, ignore the fact I look like a beached whale with this bump but...” She chuckled, cradling her bump for a moment before wrapping her arms loosely around Jaylen’s neck. “I’m so excited to leave the house for something other than Adalyn, Brea and work. You know, I can’t remember the last time we had a night outside of the house.” She laughed, shaking her head before resting her forehead on his. She felt safe here. This was something she wasn’t used to but forever thankful for. She was safe here.
