SEBLAINE WEEK 2017: Day 4 - Politics

Blaine’s mother, Malia Mahoe-Anderson and Sebastian’s father, Sean Smythe are both running for Mayor. The two boys are often at each other’s throats, mirroring their parents’ rivalry in their own lives.

Despite attending the same school, Blaine and Sebastian see more of one another during fundraisers organized by their respective parents’ campaign, both candidates and their families making appearances at the others’ event under the guise of a healthy competition.

Eventually, Blaine and Sebastian start to realize that they’re not that different after all. Both hailing from families with great political ambitions, they often feel stifled by the burdening duties they’re expected to carry. A friendship slowly blossoms and they fall in love- but the cut-throat vying of Blaine’s mother and Sebastian’s father doomed them as star-crossed.
