if you had to choose: glee reboot, glee revival or glee spin-off?

Umm I think I would pick like a revival that's kind of sort of a spin off. It's basically just the s4-5 New York stuff but full time. And like sorry this is morbid but y'know. Set in a dream world where none of the actors are no longer with us, or are with us but are pure trash. Dream world where everyone is here and good and can just play characters we like and nothing is awful

But also it's just the characters I love and we retcon the majority of stuff that happened in the finale lol. Klaine are there but they don't have their baby. That can come in later on down the line. Santana and Rachel are both there and both on Broadway and Jesse and Brittany are lost in the woods/sewers idc what happens to them. Tina and Mercedes are obviously there. Just being talented and funny and gorgeous and finally getting paid their dues. Sam is there, he didn't become a teacher in Ohio. And Artie is there bc idk Kevin was funny in s5 and really shined even if he isn't my fave character rip

And then other characters can pop in from time to time like Marley and Jake and Kitty and Unique and Puck. And I guess Mike and Quinn too idc. And the whole NY bunch like Elliott and Isabelle are semi regulars and maybe Cassandra, Adam, and Dani can pop in if she leaves her biphobia at the door. Oh also Brody redemption arc and he becomes a main character too <3 not that brody really needed a redemption arc but rm hates sex workers so he had to be the villain i guess ew i hated how dirty he was done i know i bring it up all the time but god damn

They mention Sue and Schue in the pilot ep and then literally never bring them up again. None of the McKinley adults are real, they can't hurt us anymore. Actually it would be so funny if they were all in jail. All for that

Umm so yeah that's about what I'd do. Just no reboot thing a la Gossip G*rl where it's totally new people and they're just like "omg remember when Old Main Character did this?" like I don't care lol. I wouldn't watch Glee if I didn't get to see Kurt or Blaine or Mercedes or Tina. I could watch literally any other show and get that same result. But if I'm watching Glee, that's who I wanna see, yyou know??

01 - Talk about the first ship you ever had

That’s a bit hard to pick because I was honestly shipping stuff before I even understood what shipping was - like I remember being a literal child and watching Digimon 4 and being extremely upset when Izumi ended up with Takuya instead of Koji lol. So it’s hard figuring out what the first shop was.

I can say, though, that the first ship I was, like, consciously into, that I started reading/writing fic for and that got me into fandom was Ron/Hermione. It’s still a ship that means a lot to me today, and still, imo, one of the best straight canon pairings of any series, ever. It was super formative to me, it helped me make friends and develop my writing, and to this day I can see traces of R/Hr in the dynamics I enjoy. It’s the Ultimate Good Ship, to me.

2 - Talk about three of the most important ships throughout your life.

Well, first one was Ron/Hermione, easy. Then… As I grew up I got into anime fandons and I fell in love with One Piece and specifically with the idea of Zoro/Robin - they were my favorite characters (especially Zoro, who remains on my Hall of All-Time Faves to this day) and they had this interesting tension that immediately sparked my interest. It was a small ship, but in the brazilian fandom I wrote A LOT for them, often along with a girl who was one of my closest fandom friends at the time. It was AWESOME, we used to talk about them for hours, and my writing also developed a lot. One Piece as a whole meant a lot to me at the time, and shipping Zorobin allowed me to channel all that love into creative energy. It was great.

Then time passed and I got into Glee (lol rio past me) and I was obsessed with Kurt Hummel as a character, so for a while I basically read every Kurt/Original Male Character fic I could get my hands on - the hiatus between s1 and S2, when all we knew about season 2 was that Kurt Would Get a Boyfriend, was probably my greatest time in the Glee fandom. Of course, everything went downhill when Kurt’s Actual Boyfriend was introduced and he turned out to be The Most Annoying Character In The History of Everything (to this day, Blaine remains on my Hall of Hated Characters). Then I was stuck in Glee fandom hell, and I read a lot of Kurtofsky, Kurt/Sam, even Puckurt sometimes. It was my way of surviving lol I also discovered Brittana at the time, and while I wouldn’t count as one of my biggest ships because I never Suffered for them, they were pretty formative in that they were my first ever canon gay ship. Plus, in the context of the terrible writing Glee always had, their chemistry really created something magical, especially in the beggining. Landslide still gives me chills, and Santana’s confession is still maybe one the most beautiful love confessions I’ve ever seen in television.

05 - Do you have any poly ships?

Nope. I’m a monogamist in every way lol Never got the hang of ot3s.

12 - Have you ever been disappointed when your ship finally got together?

I mean, everything about the development of Brittana sucked on the season following Santana’s confession but I can’t really say I was DISAPPOINTED because at this point I was stuck in the toxic position of hating everything that happened in the show, so I didn’t care anymore. Besides Brittana… I mean, most of my ships never got together lol The few who did, like R/Hr, lived to my expectations nicely. So I guess no.

18 - Talk about a moment which made you question an entire ship.

Ok so… During my Homestuck phase (yeah I had GOOD TASTE for fandons cnejjseiwiiewj fml) I was super into Gamzee/Tavros and… I mean, if you’ve read Homestuck you know Hussie pretty much discarded Gamzee as a tridimensional character post-Murderstuck, and Tavros’ role in the story was limited to his relationship with Vriska (who I hated with A PASSION). So I did have a lot of moments where I was like “why the hell do I still ship this”, because it was as if canon was constantly mocking me for even trying to take these characters seriously anymore (again, if you’ve read Homestuck, you know that’s not an exaggeration). Ultimately fanon contend was enough to keep me shipping it, though, until I just dropped the comic altogether.

20 - Talk about a ship you feel alone in shipping.

I don’t think there’s one. There are ships I wished there was more contend for (like Kallo/Gil from mea) but I don’t think I ever felt alone shipping something. I don’t ship many rarepairs.

21 - Is there a ship you just don’t get, but have nothing against?

Hmm Idk… Usually when I don’t have anything against a ship I can at least grasp why people ship it (St*cky, for example). If I really really DON’T GET IT, I’m probably gonna have some negative feelings about it (like St*rkqu*ll or W*nterIr*n). So, the answer is no, I guess.

26 - Have you noticed a pattern in your shipping? Is there a romantic dynamic you’re more drawn to?

Like I said, I can see traces of R/Hr in a lot of my other ships lol I enjoy Tension and Bickering and conflict that arrises from bad communication/poor handling of emotional issues. I like visual contrast a lot (it’s ridiculous, but the quickest way to turn me off a stony fic/art is Tony having blue eyes. It’s one of the reasons I’m not very drawn to 616 stony lol I just like smol Tony with brown eyes more. Like I said, it’s ridiculous). I also like when characters are opposites on the surface but actually share important/crucial similarities in essence.

Finally, I pretty much only ship stuff when I’m able to give a shit about both characters involved. I need to be able to care about both characters in some level, outside of their ship dynamic, so I tend to ship characters that have similar levels of development. Usually I have a preference (Steve over Tony, Tavros’ over Gamzee, Ron over Hermione, etc), but I need to like both characters to see them in equal footing. Otherwise it’s just not that appealing to me.

(I’m gonna make the fic recs in a separate post, ok? Bc this is already too long and also, bc I need to ask of which fandom you’d like. I mostly only read mcu stuff lately lol is that ok?)

39 - Is there a fictional relationship you'd want for yourself?

I guess in some level, I'd want a relationship like Ron and Hermione's, preferably without seven years of pining and misunderstandings lol But as a rule I don't necessarily look for relationships I'd want to ship - I just look for dynamics that touch me.

If you could change one and only one thing about Glee, what would you choose?

Oh man one thing... I’ve kind of answered a question like this before so I’m just gonna steal my own answer but I guess go into a little more detail about it? Also gonna put it under a Read More bc I plan on rambling a looot so buckle up babey 

But I wish they had varied the characters’ ages a little more. I know hindsight is 20/20 and they didn’t know who would end up being a fan fave and who they’d run out of ideas for (or both) so they were just throwing shit at the wall to see what would stick, and giving people crazy plotlines and letting people overstay their welcome and whatever else 

So at the beginning of the show I think Quinn, Puck, Brittany, and Finn should’ve been juniors. In general, it’s kind of silly that they make such a big deal of being popular and being the most popular kids in school when they’re like... sophomores. And being head cheerleader and the quarterback? I mean I was as far away from jocks and cheerleaders as I could be in high school but I’m pretty sure no sophomore holds that much power lol

I think it makes the most sense for Quinn. Bc in s2 it’s like she forgets all her growth and forgets her baby and is just like fucking around and then s3 is when she goes full skank. Sooo she could have that little episode at the start of season 2 instead. And it lasts longer than 1.8 episodes and is taken seriously. And then after she’s a reformed skank, she can still have all her prom queen stuff with Finn but eventually make her turn around and get into Yale and she graduates and yay. Also she never gets hit by a fucking car

For Finn, I think it would make his and Rachel’s relationship make more sense. Meaning things would pretty much be the same but there would be more validity to Rachel’s insecurities since he’s the popular upperclassman and she’s scared of losing him to Quinn or some other senior girl or whatever. Do all the stuff with the recruiter and him feeling inadequate in s2, then he graduates. Get him out of McKinley but keep him close by having him take a year off, work at the tire shop, stay close to his family and still see Rachel in s3 and whatever else

Brittany, I swear it’s not personal. I mean they really did redo the same shit for her time after time. Gotta believe in some fantasy thing like Santa or leprechauns or the got dang Mayan apocalypse and have a whole episode about that. Gotta run for class president. Gotta have a relationship with a boy and Santana is jealous. Like... I get it. And it got stale. I have plenty of complaints about Brittany but the minimum thing they coulda done is got her out of there two seasons earlier and spared us all those retooled plots. And I mean everyone keeps popping up to mentor anyway so she could’ve made plenty of appearances in s3. Or she could’ve been like Sue’s assistant coach or something. That would’ve been interesting, I think 

For Puck, just... I don’t know. I like him but I don’t think they utilized him the best they could have so just get rid of him, too :P Have him move to LA or stay in Lima and keep his business going and hang out with Finn

Santana, Rachel, Mercedes, Kurt, and Mike are all sophomores at the start, like in canon. Rachel is just doing her thing, whatever. You know she’s never going to be at a loss for screen time so I won’t worry about her. But Santana and Mercedes (and Tina) can have much bigger parts to play in s3 and actually get the time they deserve, rather than an episode or two dedicated to them before they realize that it really is their duty to sway in the background and sing back up for every Rachel solo. Kurt goes through just a teensy bit less shit because this way he’d at least get the class president thing and they could actually do something with that plot instead of ignoring it until prom. And I guess Mike goes through his canon storyline and it’s all fine. 

That leaves Tina, Artie, and eventually Sam and Blaine. They’d all be their canon ages. And with graduations and people leaving in s2-3, they’d have to incorporate the newbies better. Like in s3 it felt like introducing the newbies happened organically, no matter what we thought of them as characters. Day one, here’s Sugar. Couple episodes later - Rory. Like halfway through the season, we meet Joe. It’s not just like “new season, who dis?” like idk you got rid of all my faves and threw these bland replacements at me, I don’t know who they are?? 

Maybe Jake could’ve been introduced early and had his stuff with Puck, while Puck was still hanging around. He could’ve taken him under his wing and they have all their brotherly bonding stuff. Then Kitty comes in bc the two blonde cheerleaders graduated and we need a new one or whatever. And Brittany immediately takes a shine to her bc she’s like “aww she’s like a mini Quinn” and Santana keeps trying to convince Britt that she’s just pure evil and so we get plenty of bitch offs between Kitty and Santana. Then I guess Marley and Ryder and Unique can come in in s4 like normal. And idk just add newer, better characters and introduce them more organically. Don’t just pile watered down versions of the old characters into a catapult and launch them at my face

So that’s like two things really but oh well. Actually it’s like forty-seven things under the guise of being two things. But it’s like an umbrella fix with all the little fixes underneath. Anyway it’s not perfect but neither is canon. Those are just my thoughts and something I’d do if I could go back in time with the knowledge I have now and change things for the better lmao

5) Seblaine - Tbh I’m not crazy about Sebastian. He made a good little villain until they dropped the villain role altogether and he didn’t have much to do, except step aside for a new, less likable Warbler to take over the main antagonist role. I thought he was gross to Blaine and Kurt and kind of an unlikable jerk over all (which, yeah, I know he was supposed to be). I don’t think there’s anything there and I don’t get people that ship him with Blaine or Kurt honestly

4) Brittana - One of my least favorite ships, sorry not sorry. I guess the one advantage they have over Seblaine is that they were actually canon? But idk they don’t do much for me

3) Puckurt - One of my fave noncanon ships. It’s what Kurtofsky wishes it could be lol. I think Puck and Kurt could’ve been great bros once Puck stopped being a bully, and that easily could’ve developed into more. Plus they’d just be a hot couple imo lol

2) Samcedes - This was really hard putting them second, but idk. I looove Samcedes. But the writers teased us with a little taste at the end of season 2, then forgot about it bc Sam “moved” and so they didn’t really have a relationship until he came back, but then Mercedes was with Shane and it was just a mess. They were cute again in s5, but I wish Samchel never happened and that the Samcedes ending wasn’t left so ambiguous 

1) Faberry - This ship 100% should’ve been endgame, and was already like 90% canon. There were just so many moments between the two of them throughout the series and then it all adds up to what? Kitty making a joke about how if Rachel is gonna go gay for a Cheerio, it should be Quinn? Thanks for nothing, writers.
