So were Azden & Wolfe effected by the “They’re all so fucking cursed” stigma as well and did people like them before Arce and PC came along? And did Ardwen get a long with anyone else in the old party (Did they have a name or were they just a ragtag band of misfits) besides Arke and maybe the PC? I can’t imagine him being around Qora for more than a minute without getting decked considering how touchy he seems to be

Tentatively yes they were affected by it but only in the sense that the village was convinced something horrible would befall Wolfe particularly. Azden was already considered someone to avoid if not because he was considered a malevolent witch (he wasn't) then because he was just a grumpy old man who disliked everybody in turn. The only reason he wasn't openly hated was because he was the only healer in Blackhearth and such respect was sort of a given, even grudgingly, and also that Wolfe vouched for him. Wolfe, however, was considered something of a leader and was well-liked by most everybody. He helped to temper some of the paranoia but not even he could fade the superstition of a tiny little town near the border of Xactha.

Ardwen and Qora definitely did not get along, but luckily Qora had Zora and as such he stayed well away from them. Though Keller did find him trying at times, she did genuinely enjoy his company when he wasn't flirting with everything that moved—he was a nice little poet and had some interesting stories to tell.

This time he pushed his luck by sneaking into the Castle of the Raven King! Sebastian Michaelis, lord of Blackhearth Kingdom. Home of demons.

Will slouthed into the Kings chambers through a loose stone tile. Climbing out he checks for guards. All was clear.

So he checks in a golden box with fancy patterns and inside was a ruby. Perfect to feed him for months! However....the king has slipped behind him....

Start of the final month of 2021 and once again a metric shit ton of good releases. The last three or four months have been absolutely insane with one quality release after another.

Biggest surprise for me was actually Volbeat. I really dug their early albums but they had lightened up their sound so much it was almost like a different band. Well this album has some serious heavy moments (Track 11 Becoming actually has some really nice tremolo riffing). From there the parade of Black Metal roles on. Agony by Default were the early front runners for album of the week with Spatial Dimensions not far behind but then Sunday night I ran into Hands of Despair and the best black metal album of the weekend was chosen. Great mix of Melodeath, black, prog and even some thrash moments here and there. Bloodmessiah, Redemptor and Once upon the End held down the death and Melodeath fort with some killer albums but my pick was Unanimated for best of the week for Death Metal. In the best album with the worst band name we Have Rachel Mother Goose. The album Synra Bansho is an excellent Power Metal album just slightly outdone by Defiant and their album No More Pain. In the Heavy (including doom) Metal no one came close to Nekromant and their album Temple of Haal. Tell me that doesn’t sound like a “cvlt black metal” release from the early 2000’s. Also worthy of note is Aquilus. Yet another album that requires more listens instead of the quick turn and burn I do on the weekends. It could end up being the release of the week. I did order the vinyl so we will see.
