And he can't even go after any one person, because Alfred would tell Dick (who tells Wally and Donna, especially if it was really stupid), Steph would tell Kara (who would tell Clark, who would tell Diana, who already knew via Donna), and Tim would tell Kon, Damian would tell Jon and Connor, Duke tells Jason about it, and because Wally told Barry Hal now knows (and other Lanterns), J'onn knew because Bruce was fuming and Clark was trying to figure out how to bring it up, Cass told Dinah and Barbara so now the entirety of the Arrowfam and Birds of Prey know too and so on.

i'm like almost positive i've made a post like this before but do yall have like... different mediums/genres your characters Think in

i've definitely mentioned this re: moonlighters and perspective of the genre they think they're in (bella in a classic superhero coming of age story, quinn in a rebellious punky story, kira in a cyberpunk hero story, lou in a romance)

but i think i Feel it more with ttrpg guys because i get in their head more/think about their specific pasts/stories. and all the pcs im playing these days are so distinct

shay is a scratchy autobio graphic novel comic done in textured graphite or scribbly ballpoint pen. lots of hatching

cinna is a series of sad desperate introspective journal entries. very internal monologue heavy/unreliable narrator vibes happening especially during the cinna/ori split

trix is an action-adventure movie with a bopping orchestral soundtrack with a bunch of inexplicable out-of-place electric guitar and really well-shot and choreoed action scenes

aira is a five-act tragic play done in a tiny blackbox with everyone being double/triple cast w rich symbolism and like ZERO props/sets. one of those that you walk out of going huh. whuh. and still think about days later

Deforestation is not a fiction

Production company – Fix Studios

This animation was produced on behalf of Greenpeace. The video's goal is to raise awareness about deforestation by demonstrating how intensive animal farming and the consumption of meat and dairy products are the main contributors to this problem.

Despite being computer-generated, the technique is intended to resemble stop-motion clay animation. The concept works well since it presents itself as a light-hearted and kid-friendly cartoon, but the sombre themes about the realities of excessive animal farming and deforestation is cleverly contrasted.

Ad agency Alma used actual data to develop several gun forms for the Change the Ref campaign, which was started by the parents of Joaquin Oliver, a victim of the Parkland High School mass shooting. This well-thought-out campaign aims to draw attention to and examine the US gun culture while reminding regular Americans of these often-overlooked or unknowable figures.

Deliveroo used actual, one-star reviews from customers whose food orders were damaged during delivery to create a spoof cookbook. These orders have been comically recreated by Deliveroo, who presents them as authentic recipes that you can cook and names the food in a way that indicates how it has been ruined. The photos that go with it are reminiscent of the type that you might see in an upscale gourmet cookbook. Seeing these ruined meals captured on camera is novel and refreshing.

SleepyTV is a health and wellness channel that was created to aid weary viewers in falling asleep. The in-room or in-flight on-demand service was developed specifically for the tourism sector. It provides audiences with a blend of traditional storytelling, yoga, breathwork, and guided meditation in settings where it might be difficult to relax. The logo, which was created to be experienced in motion, simulates the blinking pattern of tired eyes. This small gesture instantly establishes a relatable and recognisable shorthand for the channel.

Each spirit promotes a certain emotional state that is often associated with alcohol use. From a growing sense of confidence (Blend One), to feeling sociable (Blend Two) and full of energy (Blend Three). The story on Magpie's packaging draws a parallel between the transformation of your emotional state and that of a spirit animal.

Papermaker Robert Horne was keen to get the creative industry's attention with the launch of its newest paper, Imagine. To appeal to a design-savvy audience, Magpie developed a marketing strategy that suggests everything is possible with enough ingenuity. They created a series of intriguing and inspiring posters using seemingly impossible illustrations.

Gavin Martin vegetable ink mailer

Award-winning printer Gavin Martin Associates was excited to announce the introduction of vegetable inks and reassure clients that their exacting standards would not be sacrificed. The solution offered by Magpie Studio was a giant pumpkin with a first-place rosette to hold all the details. The choice of a giant pumpkin was effective as it was both relevant to what the product was made of and displayed its quality.

Sarah Grundy artist identity

Sarah Grundy is a make-up artist who’s worked in film and TV for over 30 years. The objective for Magpie was to establish an identity that would attract the attention of upcoming industry professionals. They created a campaign-led brand that made the most of her ability to make the unbelievable believable. Every component—from bearded ladies to babies with tattoos—is a striking example of her talent.

Bandido coffee

Bandido is an independent coffee brand for free-spirited individuals. Magpie Studio produced a design that uses the letter 'B' to embody the brand's disruptive, playful approach. The letter 'B' is presented in a way that alludes to a bandit mask. I admire this branding design as it shows how often the most creative solutions can be the simplest.

Been playing some Starship troopers: extermination, and some Deep Rock Galactic lately and it's got me thinking about my idea for "Canaries".

A hypothetical ttrpg/videogame I'd love to make where the players are part of the Canaries, a group of comically expendable people that are the ones sent first into some of the most dangerous situations in the universe. With the idea that they will either resolve the situation, or die horribly but their blackbox data will give information for the real badasses to fix the situation.

They're named the Canaries not just because they are a barometer for danger, but also because their uniform involves a bright yellow boilersuit.

So the Handler/Mission control is a right dick and I enjoy thinking up quotes for them.

"Guns up Canaries, we've got ten... no, eleven dozen blips inbound on your location. Protect the datacell with your lives." "Bulldog inbound for extraction. Five minutes, Canaries, then I'm leaving. With or without you." "I'm reading a member of your team is down. Leave them and get to the extraction point - time is ticking."

"Alright Canaries, two previous teams of canaries and a squad of Marines have been sent into the station before you, all KIA. Top brass has deemed the situation beyond containment, so you're being sent in with a 25 gigaton warhead to sterilise the station down to the atom. Chadwick Aaron Boseman (born November 29, 1976 - August 28, 2020) was an actor known for his portrayals of real-life historical figures such as Jackie Robinson in 42 (2013), James Brown in Get on Up (2014), and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall (2017), and for his portrayal of the superhero, Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Captain America: Civil War (2016), Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019). Outside of his roles as real-life historical figures and Black Panther, he appeared in films such as 21 Bridges (2019), Da 5 Bloods (2020), and Ma Rainey Blackbox (2020). He died following a four-year battle with colon cancer. He attended college at Howard University, graduating in 2000 with a BFA in directing. One of his teachers was Phylicia Rashad, who became a mentor. She helped raise funds so that he and some classmates could attend the Oxford Mid-Summer Program of the British American Drama Academy in London, to which they had been accepted. After studying directing at Howard University, he began his career in theatre, winning a Drama League Directing Fellowship and an acting AUDELCO, along with receiving a Jeff Award nomination for his 2005 play Deep Azure. Transitioning to the screen, his first major role was as a series regular on Persons Unknown (2010). He achieved international fame for playing the Marvel Comics superhero Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) from 2016 to 2019. He appeared in four MCU films, including an eponymous 2018 film that earned him an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. As the first African American actor to headline an MCU film, he was named in the 2018 Time 100. His final performance as the character in What If...? (2021) earned him a posthumous Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance. Djinn Hunter #4 Blackbox Comics 2021 Written by Jay Sandlin Illustrated & Lettered by Fabrizio Cosentino    Zara faces Abyss, learning quickly the Elder Djinn is far too powerful. Having no other alternative, Zara turns to the one person in the realms she hoped never to face again: the Sorceress Samira, her lost love. But after ghosting her centuries ago, will Samira be thrilled to see her ex again?    I’m so glad there is one more issue of this left!  I thought at the end of last issue this was surely going to be the finale, so glad that I was mistaken.  I’m also thrilled beyond belief with the amount of story being told and how much action we see to go with it.  The balance really is superb and how each serves to work with and strengthen the other elements is some darn fine storytelling.  I’m also incredibly impressed with the way we see the backstory between Zara and Abyss and this pertains to her current predicament.  There is a lot of storytelling going on here that is so involved and deep that it really makes you stop and think, you become so engaged in the story and it takes you off script and into your own mind beautifully.      I am a huge fan of the way that this is being told.  The story & plot development that we see through how the sequence of events unfold as well as how the reader learns information is presented exceptionally well.  The character development that we see through the narration, the dialogue, the character interaction as well as how we see them act and react to the situations and circumstances which they encounter continues to spotlight their ever evolving and changing personalities.  A great example is Zara’s growing affection and friendship with Bennu.  The pacing is excellent and as it takes us through the pages revealing more and more of the story the more we want to see how the past played out more fully.  I’m serious because all the machinations and naivete that we see from Zara and her trust in a council elder well that’s the stuff that shapes who someone becomes.      I’m enjoying how we see this being structured and how the layers within the story continue to emerge, grow, evolve and strengthen.  The layers open up new avenues we so want to see explored and while some are and others aren't they all add this great depth, dimension and complexity to the story.  The way that everything works together to create the story’s ebb & flow as well as how it moves the story forward is impeccably rendered.    I love, love, love the interiors here.  Just the way we see the imagery is sensational and it shows how far we’ve come in terms of computer generated art.  If this isn’t computer generated then I’m even more impressed.  The linework is gorgeous and how we see the varying weights and techniques being utilised to create the detail within the work that we see is bloody sensational.  That we see backgrounds, either in space or the pocket dimension, is fabulous as this enhances and expands the moments.  They also work within the composition of the panels bringing out the depth perception, sense of scale and the overall sense of size and scope to the story.  The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a masterful eye for storytelling.  The various hues and tones within the colours  being utilised to create the shading, highlights and shadow work shows a phenomenal understanding of how colour works. ​    If you aren’t reading this I highly recommend that you do.  It is a much more honest take on Djinn and the idea of having them grant your wishes.  There is a price for everything and unless you spell something out down to the most minutiae detail you will be sorry you got your wish granted.  This is extremely well written with some spectacular characterisation and some bloody impressive interiors.
