homesick
synopsis: you’re staying in wakanda for research work with your girlfriend shuri, but it’s nearly christmas and you’re greatly missing your home in america, so she makes you feel better about it.
contains: fluff, shuri x american black reader, christmas, suggestive language, cuteness overload
usana - baby (someone requested this on the @maxipad031 account, i hope you see this x)
“hey y/n ?”
you’re snapped out of your thoughts and look to your left as shuri is standing at the doorway of her bedroom with a glass of milk placed on a tray, looking at you worryingly.
“you’ve been out of it the whole day, are you okay baby?” she asked, concerned about your abnormal behavior. you do admit you’ve been zoning out for the last hour after you woke up, but it’s because you can’t stop thinking about your family back home. it’s one week until christmas, and you’d never been away from home this long but your work with shuri was taking longer than you both expected so you had to be here to finish the research. obviously, you loved spending time with shuri as you normally didn’t get to since you lived all the way in america, but you couldn’t help but miss them. it didn’t help that your mum kept on sending you messages about how your siblings missed you greatly.
shuri slowly walked to you and sat on the bed, putting the tray on the drawer besides the bed and lifting your hand up to rub it gently as she lovingly looked at you. you nodded your head, “yeah i’m fine, just thinking about back home.” you give her a crooked smile and yawned, giving your legs their well deserved stretch.
“ah, of course it must be hard, you’ve been away for three months now.” shuri agreed, placing a soft kiss on your hand, “also i must inform you that we probably won’t be done till after christmas.”
“what? but i promised my ma i’ll be back by then.” with an upset expression, you looked at her, sulking greatly as you looked forward to being with your cohort back home. christmas in chicago, especially with all of your family was just amazing and you didn’t want to miss it this year. shuri nodded, “i know, i know, but don’t worry i’ll make it worthwhile.” shuri smiled brightly, stroking your face with her thumb. you couldn’t possibly be mad at her, so you looked away and grinned, “whatever ri.” suddenly, a cool breeze washed over your newly braided hair and you whipped your head around to see shuri flying off with your bonnet, “aye! come back here stupid!” you yelled jokingly as you reached out to her, nearly tripping and falling on the black duvet as you jumped off the bed and ran after shuri down the palace hall. you caught her obviously and grabbed her pyjama collar as you both went tumbling down onto the smooth wooden floor. with vengeance, you climbed on top of her and snatched your silky bonnet from her fingers, placing it back on your head where it rightfully belonged,
“bitch, you can’t run from me.” you said with a cocky grin, sticking your tongue out at shuri. shuri laughed loudly as she looked down and smirked at the position you both were in. she calmed down to stare at you, taking in your natural beauty that shined even more as you just woke up. her hands had minds of their own and shamelessly reached up your body, trying to make it up inside the hem of your navy blue crop top. surprised, you slapped them off, “excuse me, anyone could see us.” you anxiously looked around and tried to get off of her, but she didn’t let you and kept you stationary with both hands holding your waist. annoyed, you leaned down to get a closer look at her, her eyes were glued to your lips and you could see how whipped she was for you, “let go of me stink.” you whispered, smiling against her lips as you were about to kiss her beckoning lips, until you heard a quiet cough come from in front of you both. frozen, you looked at who it was and shuri, who was on the ground, looked back to see the feet of queen ramonda. you hurriedly got off of her, getting up on your feet and shuri did the same thing, avoiding eye contact with her mum in embarrassment and bowing a good 90 degree angle.
“mother, good morning, we’re sorry-” shuri started as she scratched the back of her head awkwardly.
“don’t apologise, it’s young love, i understand.” she flashed a friendly smile at the both of you and continued her journey past you two, who were still bowing as you were caught red handed, “oh and shuri, the house is ready.” she announced, waving goodbye at the both of you.
your face twisted in confusion, “what house?” you looked at shuri but she smiled and shrugged her shoulders. you weren’t buying it and you continued to pester shuri but she wouldn’t say so you just gave up.
“sh, let’s go get ready, we have stuff to do.” she said ambiguously, skipping back to the room you both just came from. sighing at your defeat, you followed behind but you were a bit excited to see what she had planned. shuri and surprises went hand in hand because she was always extra as hell when it came to doing things for you. to be honest you didn’t mind it at all, but felt bad because you were not able to grant the same attention back. she told you all the time to not worry, but it always lingered at the back of your mind.
“let’s see what she’s done this time.” you muttered under your breath, closing the bedroom door and heading to the bathroom as shuri rummaged bodily through the clothes in her messy closet.
~~~
the cold breeze hit your face mercilessly at all angles as you trudged through the crunchy snow beneath you. your teeth chattered as your body temperature was slowly dropping, “are we nearly there yet?” you asked impatiently, adjusting your wool scarf that was slipping off your neck.
“yep.” shuri replied, walking alongside you with both of your suitcases in each of her hand. you were both alone as shuri commanded the dora not to follow her as she wanted the trip to feel as authentic as possible. the mountains looked pretty but the chilly weather was almost unbearable and you couldn’t wait to just get the the house already. you huffed in annoyance, and continued to follow shuri as small snowflakes dropped from the sky. the mountains, with white crests, stood tall and surrounded the area. before long, you could see a cottage coming into view and that’s when it clicked; that’s the house queen ramonda was talking about,
“is that it shuri?” you asked excitedly as you pointed to the house in the distance.
“no.” she replied.
“what?” you were confused, where were you going then?
“i’m joking, of course it is.” shuri let out a small laugh at how gullible you were, and watched as you raced off excitedly towards the cottage, leaving her behind to carry all your stuff. she shook her head and followed you up ahead. you obviously reached the entrance before her and whilst you waited, you observed the house. it looked brand new, like it was just renovated. it was big but still quite small, a perfect home for two people. but most of all, it resembled your house back home apart from the fact yours was more modern but it gave off the same vibes. soon after, shuri climbed up the brown wooden steps behind you and dropped the stuff with a grunt as she stretched her back,
“sorry baby, just got a lil excited.” you admitted, feeling guilty that you made her carry all the stuff all the way from the royal palace to the mountains,
“it’s okay darling, anything for you.” she gave you that iconic eye smile and took the keys from her coat pockets to unlock the dark brown oak door. the latch unlocked and she opened the door to darkenss. she took the first step in and reached next to the door inside to the right and when she felt for light switch, she switched it on. at that moment, the whole place came lit and you looked over shuri’s shoulder, mouth agape at how picturesque it looked. many types of christmas decorations hung nearly everywhere, tinsel along the walls and colorful lights surrounded the area. little metal reindeer’s were lined up on top of the fire place along with those large black and red socks and snow globes.
shuri stepped away from the doorstep so you could walk in, and then she took your stuff inside and shut the door behind.
“shuri, this looks unreal.” you commented, as you examined the place; every corner was something new to look at and you knew shuri ordered it to be like this.
“you think?” shuri took her dark purple gloves and shoved them in her jacket pocket, taking it off and hanging it on a clothing rack next to the television. whilst you were still stuck in awe, shuri came up behind you and proceeded to pull down your coat zip and take it off for you so she could also put it on the clothing rack. a large white christmas tree sat in the corner by the tv and fireplace, the baubles hanging loosely as two presents sat below it in a fashionly order.
shuri stood proudly as she admired the product of what her idea was. you turned around to face her with a fat smile on your face and ran up to her, jumping up to hug her tightly. she caught you with her arms wrapped around your thighs to keep you both steady so you didn’t fall down. you wrapped your hands around her neck and leaned down to pull her into a passionate kiss. she eagerly reciprocated with equal excitement until you both needed air in which you pulled away and hugged her once again.
“you’re welcome.” she said as she dropped you back down onto the brown carpet. you slipped off your winter boots, exposing your santa socks and flung off your wooly scarf as you walked around to closely inspect each and every ornament, “wow, i wonder how much this all was.”
“don’t even worry.” shuri smirked and walked towards the kitchen, “are you hungry?”
“nah…” you replied, as you sat down in front of the fireplace, “how do you turn this on?” you asked as you looked for a solution to your question.
“hmm.” shuri came towards you and pressed an almost invisible button on the side of the fireplace, which caused a large uproar of flames to come out of nowhere. you jumped back but slowly smiled and watched how it crackled and popped. shuri walked towards the luggage and picked it up, “i’m going to put this upstairs babe.”
“mkay.” you replied, as you got up to go sit on the soft light brown sofa in the centre of the living room. the house was so cozy and the perfect cure to your homesickness. it perfectly copied how your house would look like on christmas when your family came to spend it with you. you had no idea how shuri had managed to do this, but she stays doing life changing things for wakanda so this was probably a walk in the park for her. you couldn’t ask for anything better and it made you fall even more deeply in love with her by the second. you pulled out your phone from your jean pocket and navigated to your mums contact where you called her. it rang a few times but she eventually picked up,
“my child, are you alright?” she asked, wondering as to why you called her out of the blue.
“yes mother, i’m fine i just wanted to call you to say i won’t be back ‘till after christmas.” you would still rather spend it with her but you really didn’t mind anymore, missing one year wouldn’t hurt.
“ohh, that’s a shame, we were really looking forward to you coming back.” you could hear the disappointment in her voice,
“i know ma, but i’ll be back right after don’t you worry.” you reassured her.
“okay y/n, take care of yourself and thank shuri for talking care of you also.”
“of course i will.” you smiled at the fact she mentioned shuri. you haven’t told her that you’re both dating, but she knows about your sexuality and you regularly talk about her, like all the time so i think she gets the hint. with that, you ended the call and held your phone to your chest, just over the moon that you heard your mothers nostalgic voice again. shuri came downstairs at the same time and sat down next to you on the sofa.
“who was that?” shuri inquired as she leant back into the sofa.
“my ma, i was just telling her that i’ll be back after christmas.” you replied, sighing as you set your phone down onto the arm of the coach and cozied up besides shuri. she wrapped her long arms around your frame and brought you closer into her embrace which simply made you melt. the living room was warming up gradually and felt much more comfortable and homely. you looked up at shuri and she looked back at you, smiling before she peppered your face with little pecks before kissing your plump lips once more. you giggled and buried your face in her neck; she smelt so nice, like all the flowers in the world as one single scent.
“let’s watch home alone.” shuri suggested, grabbing the remote from the small coffee table. you nodded profusely as that was your favorite christmas movie, you’ve watched it like 10 times. she switched on the television, and went on disney plus where the movie was located, then she hit play. you shifted into a more comfortable position and pulled the thick folded blanket from the back of the couch down onto the both of you.
“switch off the main lights.” shuri commanded to some ai in the house, and the yellow lights immediately switched off, leaving only the christmas lights glowing glamorously. some natural blue light shone in from the balcony windows, which added further to the holiday vibe.
“this is going to be an amazing christmas..” you thought, snuggling further into the blanket as shuri had a firm arm around you, and the opening credits of the movie started to roll.
~~ one week later ~~
“wake up!” excitedly, you shook shuri violently to wake her up from her deep slumber. she stirred and groaned as she tried to face away from you and pulled the cover over her face like that’ll stop you from bothering her. you simply pulled it down and turned her body to face you, “come on baby, it’s christmas!” you squealed, as you jumped out of the double bed and went to the window to look out of it. everything was calm and mundane outside, the palace of wakanda was in the far distance and the sunrise was a nice pink and blue gradient as dawn was setting.
shuri fumbled the sheets and rubbed her eyes with her arms, she wasn’t a morning person if you could tell. you left her to get up on her own and went downstairs to the kitchen, turning on all the lights you came across. you wrapped your fluffy robe around your body since it was a bit chilly, but you turned on the fireplace and some electric heaters.
shuri walked down the stairs sluggishly and wondered how you were so alert with so much energy at like 7am in the morning. you didn’t wait to switch on youtube on the tv and blast your favorite christmas song, all i want for christmas is you. if there were people living besides this house, they’d probably be complaining by now at how loud it was. you took shuri’s hand and tried to convince her to dance with you by moving her around;she was still sleepy but she made an effort.
“more than you could ever know, make my wish come true, all i want for chorus’s is you!” you sang as shuri twirled you and followed your steps. your hyper energy seemed to be absorbed by shuri and this moment between the both of you was so cute, and something you’d been dying to share with her. shuri started to get into it and boogie with you as the song progressed.
“damn, get it.” you laughed and held your stomach as shuri was busting it down, and you soon joined her with your own special moves. as the song came to an end, you pulled shuri’s hand which brought her closer and looped your hands around her neck as you both waddled side to side whilst chuckling at your silly behaviour.
“merry christmas usana.” shuri booped your nose with her finger and used it to bring your chin up before kissing you.
“oh, morning breath.” you said, turning your head away and scrunching your nose in a humorous manner, which made shuri scoff and push you playfully. you laughed whilst stumbling and held her hand, “i’m just joking, let’s go get ready.” she shook her head at you and followed you upstairs.
the rest of holiday consisted of you both doing many activities such as baking cookies, building gingerbread houses, watching more movies, following recipes, dancing to christmas music, snowball fights, and last but not least, visiting the wakandan city to celebrate christmas with the community. honestly, it was just unforgettable and you even considered coming back next year as well. it made you completely forget about your family back home, which made you feel guilty, but you made sure to facetime them at the end of the day to see what they’d been up to. the whole experience had strengthened your relationship with shuri and you just couldn’t wait to see what the future held.
eek im dying, so cute
Merry Christmas, Baby 🎁 - An Attoye Hallmark crackfic
- words: 2.5k+
Summary: This is a hallmark Christmas romance between Okoye, a big city businesswoman, and Attuma, her childhood crush boy next door who owns a Christmas tree business, and his dad isn’t Santa or anything, so chill out.
I put no effort into this, it’s purely for fun
Tumblr media
༄ ♬ ˚₊ ➳ 💙⚔️❤️ ➳ ♪ ❀ ༄
It was a cold, snowy day, and the laughter and shine of joy on the streets was thick in the winter air.
Snow fell on the windows, the trees, and the cars in the parking lot, a perfect white blanket over a city that seemed to glow from the inside.
Okoye stood at the window and watched it fall, snickering at all the stupid people who celebrated Christmas and believed in having fun instead of working every day all the time.
It was a week from Christmas, and she was at work. She was always at work. She didn’t remember a time when she wasn't at work, especially at Christmas.
Okoye loved work, money, and the big city, but not Christmas because of her tragic past. But we’ll get into that at a later, more convenient-to-the-plot time.
Okoye sighed, sipping the coffee cup she was holding. Her best friend and the CEO of their company, Carol Danvers, was going to throw a party, and everyone would be there, including her lesbian sister, Maria Rambeau. But who cares? That’s another very gay story.
Okoye’s associate and technology manager, Shuri, walked into the room and slammed many amounts of critical business on Okoye’s desk. “Okoye,” she said, “we have many business to attend to this holiday season.”
Okoye rolled her eyes. She couldn't stand Shuri. She was annoying and always tried to bring joy into Okoye's life, but it wasn't happening.
”We need to get all this business done before Christmas so I can spend it with my Dilf Husband, Cha’htoh, or maybe my wife, Riri.”
Okoye scoffed and placed her coffee on the table in a Grinch way. “I do not care for romance and love; keep your Dilf away from my business! I will complete this business by myself!”
“But in order to complete it, you must travel to Christmas Town! A small, poor, warm, cozy town where you were born!”
“I will go to my hometown by myself and complete this business. That is all, associate Shuri Udaku.”
Shuri sighed as Okoye sat down to start on the business, tapping at her computer. “Oh, Okoye…” she lamented, “I hope you learn the true meaning of Christmas…”
And then, with a blink of an eye and a clap of her hands, the annoying associate Shuri was gone, and the door closed with a bang behind her. She must’ve been a magical negro. But Okoye cares not for magic or negros.
Okoye got back to her business, ignoring the feelings she may have in her heart because she never felt those feelings of joyful Christmas. She packed her bag in her office somehow and left for the airport in a big limousine, sighing wistfully at all the passing Christmas-flavored families.
The airport was cold and dull like her soul. She hated Christmas but had a good time listening to the Christmas songs because they reminded her of her tragic backstory.
The plane took off and she sat there and thought about her tragic backstory.
When it landed the airport this time was smaller and more warm and cozy, the planes were in a lounge sipping on hot cocoa. That’s how cozy it was.
This was truly her hometown.
She rented a car and drove down the icy road until she reached the only inn in the village, the Wakand Inn.
It was a beautiful log cabin with a fireplace and a warm glowing light.
The old inn keeper smiled at her and grasped her hand. “It’s Christmas, honey. If you need anything, just ask.”
She went to her room and laid down, sighing as she looked out the window. It had begun to snow, and the world looked soft and cozy and warm.
A feeling bubbled up inside her and she tried to push it down. This was too Christmas, she didn’t have time to Christmas, she was a big time lawyer or something like that.
She closed the curtains, and decided to go out and do some business. She put on her long trench coat and black suit and stepped outside, the snow crunching beneath her shoes.
There was a little shop across the street that was still open, the perfect place to put a big city law firm or accountants place??? Idk
She stepped into the store and found it empty except for a tall figure in a red flannel button up with sleeves rolled up who was bent over the counter, doing some work.
He turned around and smiled at her. Oh, It was the man who made her feel things in her chest. He was hot and sexy and tall and tan and thick and just overall a Mayan god, but he was too Christmas for her to love.
“Hi.” He said, his voice smooth and deep like dark chocolate. He flipped his long wavy hair over his shoulder and wiped his for some reason dirty hands on a wash cloth. “I’m Attuma. Welcome to my Christmas Tree shop.”
“Hi…” Okoye said, looking around. “Are you the owner?”
Attuma chuckled, his eyes glinting. He had a little scruffy beard on his jaw that Okoye thought was extremely sexy. “Yes, I own and operate this store. How can I help you?”
She cleared her throat. She had no time for love and romance, she needed to complete her business. “I’m here on behalf of the Milaje Corp. and we were interested in going into business with you.” She handed him many papers.
Attuma nodded. He had a strong jaw and beautiful deep brown eyes and his arms were veiny and his muscles bulged from all his small town work. He took out the papers and began to look them over, the gears in his mind turning.
Shaking his head, he handed her back the papers. “No, thank you.”
Okoye blinked in confusion.
That had never happened before.
Never ever.
In her entire time as a business woman, this had never happened.
He crossed his arms over his chest and smiled a charming smile.
“But, Mr. Attuma-“
“Just Attuma is fine.”
Okoye narrowed her eyes at him and his smile widened a bit. “Mr. Attuma. This contract is very generous!”
“You want to tear down my Christmas shop. It’s the own shop in town. Literally, there’s no other shops in the whole town.”
“But sir, this will make you very rich!”
“I don’t care about being rich, I only care abour Christmas and love.”
Okoye groaned. This was so not sexy or cool of him.
Attuma chuckled. He leaned across the counter, his hands flat on the wood, and his eyes stared deeply into hers. “Maybe you should learn more about this town and Christmas?”
“No.”
Attuma sighed, “if I can’t convince you to love Christmas by Christmas, I’ll sell you my Christmas Tree shop. Deal?”
Okoye thought about it for a moment. She was going to win, that was guaranteed, and she would be able to do her job. But what about his feelings and what if she did end up liking Christmas??
Okoye reached out and grabbed his hand, shaking it while holding his line of sight. She had to win, she had to.
She wouldn't let herself lose.
It was on.
Attuma pulled her hand towards him and kissed the back of it.
Okoye felt her insides burn. Then she heard bells, she looked towards the window and saw children playing happily and grimaced.
“I will show you what Christmas is all about, Ms. Okoye.”
“Okay.” She said, shaking her head at the happiness outside, “Wait, I never told you my-“
When she turned back, Attuma was gone.
Okoye shrugged, and headed back to her inn.
She went to sleep, dreaming of Christmas.
She hated it and beat Santa to death in her dreams.
<<<
Okoye woke up the next day, groaning as she stretched and pulled the blankets over her face. It was still early, she had time to sleep before her first business meeting.
A loud banging at her door made her jump. She groaned and pushed herself up, rubbing her eyes.
Who the hell was knocking on her door this early in the morning? When she approached the door, fully dressed suddenly and with two scarves on, the door opened.
Okoye froze.
Attuma was standing there with a grin.
And a tray.
On the tray were many, many plates.
He handed it to her and walked into the room, pushing her aside gently. He sat down at the table by the window and crossed his legs, gesturing to the chair opposite him.
Okoye looked down at the tray, then back at him.
It was filled with all kinds of food.
Pancakes.
Waffles.
French toast.
Crepes.
Scrambled eggs.
Eggs Benedict.
And bacon and sausage and a bowl of fruit.
Was this too much for one person and even four people? Yes, but it was Christmas and nothing mattered.
“So,” Attuma started watching Okoye as she began to fake eat the hearty breakfast for eight marathon runners, “Why do you hate Christmas so much?”
Okoye sighed and swallowed a big bite of food, trying to avoid Attuma's intense stare.
She was an amazing business woman and didn't feel the need to answer his stupid question. “It’s part of my tragic backstory. But that’s none of your business.”
Attuma pouted, leaning across the table. His long hair was tied back and Okoye couldn’t help but think about how his hair would look down.
She hated him.
And Christmas. But especially Christmas.
He shrugged and stood up smiling,
Damnit.
Attuma stood and grabbed her by the arm.
She protested and fought and squirmed, but he was a big muscly man. Who yanked trees from the ground for a living because he was a small town boy next door heartthrob but the last thing she was looking for was a man.
He pulled her out the inn, down the stairs and onto the cold, snowy street.
The children laughed and played, building snowmen and igloos and making angels in the snow. Okoye wrinkled her nose.
Attuma sighed. He had a dreamy look in his eyes as he watched the children. He really loved this town, he would get Okoye to love it again too.
“I remember when the town would gather to celebrate Christmas, singing carols and drinking cocoa, lighting the tree and dancing around the bonfire. Remember, Okoye?”
Okoye sighed and nodded her head. All she wanted was to complete her job, and the sooner, the better. But she did remember how she used to love Christmas, before…
Her thoughts trailed off. No, she had to finish her business and go back to her cold city life.
They walked in silence until they reached the town square. The Christmas tree was there, surrounded by many happy people and decorated beautifully with lights and ornaments.
Suddenly the Christmas magic became so big and beautiful and it overwhelmed Okoye with the power… of it… the magic.
“Okoye,” Attuma said, taking her hand and wiping a Christmas tear from her cheek, “I feel like I’m falling in love with you…”
“Attuma,” Okoye sniffled, “This eleven minute walk has been enlightening… I love Christmas and I love you! Let’s get married!”
“Yes! Okoye, you have taught me the true meaning of Christmas. The true meaning of Christmas is marriage.” He said, pressing a tender holiday kiss to her forehead. “But… I have a dark secret, I have to tell you…”
Okoye gasped, a look of horror crossing her face. “You’re gay?!”
“No, Okoye, not in this story. But I…”
“What is it, Attuma? Whatever it is we can get through it together!”
“My father… my Dad is Santa Claus.” Attuma said, dramatically. He fell to his knees, tears welling up in his eyes.
Okoye gasped and held him close, stroking his hair. Suddenly, above their heads, they heard a buzzing noise faintly grow closer.
An evil, evil helicopter flew in from the distance, flying low and fast, and circling the tree. Is that?… No! It can’t be!
“Ho ho ho!” Namor said, flapping his itty bitty winged feet in his little red shorts. “Merry Christmas!”
Okoye and Attuma looked at each other, then up at the flying elf, both wearing looks of confusion on their faces. Attuma stood up as Namor landed in the snow, hissing at the snow but he wasn’t no bitch so he took it.
“Dad?” Attuma said, confused, approaching his father.
Okoye gasped, “You’re Santa?!”
“The one and only! Merry-“
“But you’re elf sized.”
Namor grinned, “I’m travel size-“
“And why aren’t you wearing like… a suit?”
“Well, the shorts are more-“
“And your ears-“
“I’M SANTA, SHUT UP.” His right eye twitched and Okoye dropped it.
Namor smiled. He was very tan and very old, but a dilf about it honestly. Just a sexy little Christmas man. “Hello, son. It’s me, Santa Namor! And I need you to come with me or Christmas is over!”
“But Dad,” The larger son of Santa said, reaching behind him to grasp Okoye’s hand, “I love Okoye and I love Christmas, but I can't abandon my life here and I don’t want to abandon Okoye either. She left her gay friend in the big city for me!”
Namor nodded, looking at the two lovers. He sighed and shook his head as the bells jingled on his cute little hat. What a cutie patootie, that Christmas water elf king. “Well, the true meaning of Christmas… is love.”
Attuma and Okoye grinned at each other, they joined hands and it was suddenly their wedding and they kissed and rushed off into the carriage. Then Namor appeared again and did a little dance like the sky ballerina he is and sprinkled Christmas dust on them and they floated away into Christmas.
The End.
Okoye sighed and sat up.
Oh, it was just a dream. A horrible nightmare. Stretching and groaning in exhaustion, Okoye began to wake up.
Loud snoring on her left made her groan and she wrestled herself out of her big blue hunk of husband’s arms. “Attuma!” She whisper yelled. “Let me go!”
Attuma snorted and rolled over, falling asleep again.
Okoye grumbled and got out of bed, pulling a robe on and walking over to the window. The sun was rising slowly and surely, peeking over the Wakandan horizon. Okoye looked back and admired Attuma, even as he drooled and snored loud as a old rhino. Everything was perfect, exactly how she wanted it.
The door burst open and she startled, before the blur of speed in front of her turned into her son, Tadeas in her arms.
“Mommy…!” He sung sweetly, yawning but practically vibrating with joy. Tadeas smiled up at her, his big brown eyes twinkling. He had his father’s eyes, his mother’s cheeks, and a smile that could melt even the coldest of hearts. Smiling softly, she grunted as she lifted him entirely into her arms. He was only six and already so heavy, just like his daddy. “Mholo ngalentsasa, Mama!”
Pressing a kiss to his forehead and then his chubby cheeks, his mother squeezed him with love. “Good morning, little rhino.”
“Big Rhino! Like Daddy!” He insisted.
Okoye laughed and set him on the bed, watching as Attuma groaned and pulled him close. He mumbled a good morning and rolled over, his eyes still closed and his hair a mess. Their daughter Xyanza rushed in after that holding a mug of room temperature tap water with a loose tea bag in it, and Okoye swooned. How thoughtful. It was wrong, but the thought was so sweet.
“Got you teatea, Mama.”
“Thank you, my sweet girl.” Okoye cooed, cupping her face with one hand.
Her daughter smiled and then rushed over to join her brother in poking Attuma until he rose from the dead.
The Wakandan sunrise was beautiful, the warm, gentle light spreading across the land and touching everything in its path. Okoye had a few reservations about celebrating this colonizer holiday with her children; the capitalization on the holidays, the price upticks, the decorating…
But seeing them now, Attuma leaning up to fight her both his children against his chest and carry them with squeals and smiles to the living room to begin opening presents… Okoye had to admit, maybe the true meaning of Christmas was love.
Or maybe it was spending money and having a good time, she wasn’t sure yet.
But she had to say, the way her family felt now, was absolutely magical.
Merry Christmas.
We were spending Christmas at my mother's house, and right now I had Shuri and Riri in the bathroom, trying on ugly Christmas sweaters that my mother had "made."
"Sthandwa, Is this some sort of joke?" Shuri asked. I tried to hold back my laughter, but it wasn't working because tears were streaming down my cheeks. But I quickly wiped my cheeks, trying to maintain my cool.
"Why would I make a joke about something like that? Mama worked really hard on those sweaters! You don't think they're pretty?" I asked her.
"They pretty ugly!" Riri yelled. causing me to chuckle and playfully gasp. "I'm going to tell her you said that, too."
I heard a smacking noise, which caused Riri to yelp and yell at Shuri.
"WHAT! YOU WERE THINKING IT?"
"Enough already. Come out now; my mother is in the driveway." They walked out of the bathroom, and I covered my mouth with my hand, trying not to laugh.
But the expressions on their faces made me burst out laughing. "Y/N, you are very funny. Now what happened to yours?" Shuri asked me, with a bored expression, and her arms are crossed.
But I couldn't respond because I was hysterically laughing. But I quickly stood up when I heard my mother enter the house. She entered the living room, stopped and looked at Shuri and Riri, but continued to walk over to hug me.
"Hello, my baby. How you been?" She asked. I returned her hug and kissed her on the cheek. She stifled a laugh as she turned to face Shuri and Riri. "What the hell y'all got on?" She said, laughing making her way to the kitchen.
"This shit is going on the fridge," I said as I took a picture of them, making myself laugh even harder. Riri was threatening to kick my ass. I was clutching my stomach, from laughing so hard. While Shuri just smirked at me, as if she was planning on getting my ass later.
"STOP EATING THE JOLLY RANCHERS FROM MY ROOF!" I yelled at Riri. She playfully rolled her eyes at me and continued to decorate the side of her house with frosting. Riri and I were having a gingerbread decorating contest, while my mother, sister, and Shuri were baking sugar cookies.
When "Give Love" by the Jackson 5 came on, I instantly smiled and hummed along to the lyrics. I loved Christmas; it was my favorite time of year, but I was especially happy because it was spent with my two favorite people, along with my family.
People making lists, buying special gifts
Taking time to be kind to one and all
It's that time of year when good friends are near
And you wish you could give more than just presents from a store
I watched Riri place pretzels along her house's walkway, occasionally popping one in her mouth.
"Damn! Can you please finish your house instead of eating the decorations? That's why you are losing." I said, shaking my head. She flipped me off tossing some skittles into her mouth. I shook my head and watched Shuri bring over a hot plate of cookies.
"Those look good, boo. You did a good job." I kissed her on the cheek. She smiled, grabbing my waist and softly kissing me. "AYE! What about me? Where is my good job kiss?" Riri asked Shuri and me.
I raised my eyebrow and crossed my arms. "If you had finished the job you were supposed to do, you'd get a good job kiss! You ate half yo house! Your gingerbread man gon be homeless!" I said. This made both Shuri and me laugh.
She pouted and smacked her teeth. Shuri approached her and kissed her lips, causing her to smile. I walked towards her, and she extended her hand to stop me. "uh-uh, you wanna be funny and shit. You not finna kiss me" She said, giving me the stank face.
I smacked my teeth and grabbed her by her pants, bringing her closer to me and kissed her lips. "Stop, being so bratty and dance with me. This my favorite part."
Why don't you give love on Christmas Day?
Oh the man on the street and the couple upstairs
All need to know there's someone who cares
Give love on Christmas Day
No greater gift is there than love
wrapping my arms around their shoulders and swayed back and forth, singing at the top of my lungs. They smiled at me. And We all sung the next part together.
Give love, oh give love on Christmas day
Every Tom, Dick, and Harry, every Susie too
Needs love every bit as much as you Do
What the world needs is love
Yes, the world needs your love
Give Love, Oh give love on Christmas Day
3rd Pov
Everyone had a good time. Eating food, playing games, dancing to music, and telling childhood stories. Except for Shuri, everyone was now asleep on the couch, as the movie was playing. She smiled at Y/N and Riri, who were laying their heads against each other, she then got up and placed a blanket over them, kissing their foreheads.
"Hey INK!!" Jinx tackle hugs her while smiling. "Happy Christmas Eve! I would have waited to give you and the others presents but I couldn't help it! So here you go!" She smiled showing presents for them. She hopes they like them.
The girls were still holding presents too but hopes Ink and the others loves the gifts.
"Huh?"
Tumblr media
Ink was tackled by Jinx right away as she was hugged. The dragon laughs, seeing her bond sister. "Heya Jinx! Merry Christmas!" She smiles. Ink got a present.
"Aw, thanks, Jinx! I got a present for you as well!" Ink got Jinx a gift. It's a purple wrapped gift where the designs has cats with chrismtas hats. Inside, is a long pair of black fingerless gloves with purple accents. It covers the wrists and what's more...the palms are not covered. The pattern is of cat paws since Jinx is a panther of flames. She hopes she loves them.
Also! Rust, Fosh, Shdwkyz, Jaron, and Navarro have gifts for the girls of the Vixens. Breezy, Mouse, Vivi, Melinda and Echo. They have special gifts for them catered to them.
The girls of the DBT helped them out.
"I love the Christmas-tide, and yet,
I notice this, each year I live;
I always like the gifts I get,
But how I love the gifts I give!"
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas 🎄🎅!
I spent my day re-watching GOTG Holiday special and reading Namuri fanfictions & the Bridgerton book 'An offer from a gentleman'. How about you all?
Marvel has announced an episode of "Assembled" will premiere December 28, which is weird since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was the last release and it's not up on Disney+ yet. (Some are saying it is BP:WF and some are saying it's the GotG Holiday Special.)
I don't think the Wakanda Forever BTS will be up until the film is. I think this might be a Phase 4 retrospective, if I were to make my own guess.
Not sure what this post is for, just don't get your hopes too high if you see people saying it's definitely Wakanda Forever because we don't know for sure.
Little Christmas
Tumblr media
I'm back on my bull shit guys! I'm planning on posting every Thursday until Christmas. So it'll have roughly four chapters.
💜
The United Nations was very important to Waknada in the gand scheme of everything. Wether M’baku and Shuri would beg to differ. Since their most important sercet was out to the world. It was very important to play nice with other nations. Even though said nations would like nothing more to invad Wakanda.
To  Shuri didn’t like politics, especially geopolitics. Not only it was messy butt making alliances with countries that would have no problem changing their sides at the slightest inconvenience.  But she’ll do her part to “play nice” with the other nations. It just so happen that the United Nations was having its annual Christmas gala. It just so happen the gala was in New York, not close to Boston but close enough to her love than ever before. The gala was the only question Shuri was worried about if Riri would go to it. If the woman did say no, would it be the end of the world?
No, but to Shuri she would rather watch paint dry while listening to poiltics officals talk about their grandchildern.
Shuri would be lying saying that she wasn’t scared to ask her love if she wanted to come to the gala. Shuri and Riri have only been dating for a short while, and aren’t going to the gala are more like one year into a relationship status. But their whole relationship has been anything but normal or fast. Sometimes Shuri feels slightly guilty that she doesn't give her girlfriend enough time and attention. But Riri, bless her heart never complained as if she already understood their relationship before Shuri did. That her people will and always come first. It was a blessing and a curse to be a part of the royal family.
