Seems like everyday we’re losing another legend. 💔 RIP to the incomparable icon Roy Ayers. Roy Ayer’s was a true master & god of his craft, a man that wore many hats. He was a funk/soul/jazz composer, vibraphone player, music producer, pioneer, visionary, innovator & icon. Not only did he pioneer jazz-funk, but he has been dubbed 'The Godfather of Neo Soul' — in other words, where would your favorite artist be without Roy Ayers legacy. He’s best known for the tune that I know you all are familiar with 'Everybody Loves the Sunshine' , ‘Searchin' & 'Running Away’. At one time, he was even said to have had more sampled hits by rappers than any other artist. Rest in Peace & Power Roy. Thanks to you, music has been forever changed & your legacy will never die.

Edward Kennedy “Duke” Ellington (1899-?) was an American jazz composer, pianist, and bandleader who left a lasting impact on music and American culture. His recordings remain popular examples of big-band jazz. Ellington was an instrumental composer, and many of his songs were originally written as instrumentals.
