The special chapters are also great, it's a shame that everything is only in Chinese😭 I want to be able to understand the dialogues.

Honestly if there was a crossover between Squirrel and Hedgehog and Black Cat Detective, I think Uncle Gom would not attack Lǎobǎn (the one eared mouse) if he was just stealing some food. Uncle Gom seems to go after mice and weasels who are actively trying to harm the community.

The mice in the Weasel Unit are known as threats in episode one, but a somewhat sober Uncle Gom still allows the gift bearing mice to approach him in the middle of the night, and speak their part when they were not armed. He even seems to great them properly, if a bit harshly.

So if he saw Lǎobǎn sleeping or staggering around, looking like this

He probably would not see him as a threat. Maybe even give him some food and send him on his way, since at most he would be stealing food in the village, not attacking it.

Invariably, of course, showing mercy to outsiders like this would be treated as the wrong course of action for both shows. Mainly, because Lǎobǎn now knows the layout of whatever village or compound he ended up in, and since he is on the run, he is very likely to get picked up by the Weasel Unit, who would press him for information for safe passage if not straight up conscript him.

And conscription for Lǎobǎn would mean access to food and a fantastic way to get rid of his enemy, Black Cat Detective. Which would still make for an amazing AU.

Maybe most of the authorities in Flower Hill would simply arrest him as they do with known scouts, but assuming Black Cat comes from around the Rabbit Village area, an ally, he could easily convince Flower Hill that Lǎobǎn is a massive threat that needs to be shot on sight (for the crime of stealing food apparently. Or is it because he framed those children and took their mother hostage, which meant he was not repentant?)

Luckily I don't think Uncle Gom would be punished for having a sense of pity and kindness. In episode one some characters are beginning to whisper in pitying tones about his decline, and by his next appearance he appears to be the kindly laughingstock.

Although personally I think he just started to mellow out since he does not seem to be an alcoholic later in the series, so he isn't going around screaming threats at unseen enemies.

Or maybe, since he is no longer the sole protector of Squirrel Village, he is finally able to relax a little bit, and no longer needs alcohol to cope with the stress.

Small break from cats the musical to talk abt my other hyperfixations of cat related shows

Black Cat Detective! I only recommend the og (1984 ver) die movie, go die. He is a bastard, theres blood, theres gore, oh yes, it was amazing but it got banned (shocker/s) love the show 10/10. Basically it was an educational show so theres like a monkey eating eagle so yknow, starting off with a bang. Anyways -

JingJu Cats, my babies, my one and only. Animation is not the best I must say nor is the writing the best. Concepts are fun tho, the plot gets more and more muddy and they stopped mid season (probably due to budget shortages 😬) so like, if u cant stand unfinished shows dont watch it. Also fatphobia, classism (kind of, they talk abt bloodline but ignore the skin darkness and stuff its a joke apparently) ,and like fart jokes. so yknow beware.

This one I will recommend without shame, Tang dynasty so YES WUZETIAN (china's only female emperor lesss goooo) anyways cat lawyer, yes cat lawyer, THAT IS MY PITCH, CAT LAWYER, there's an anime and a comic, theres also a tv show (havent watched it, dont plan to either)

Its like, comedy but also like theres story, like very deep shit, major character death so hot men lovers beware ig. idk how to pitch this bc Im also kind of rusty with the plot, I recommend just listening to the op and ed bc they're kinda bangers ngl.

Asexual Charles Rowland who died a virgin (because he went to an all-boys school, of course that’s the reason - so what if most of his friends got up to things in town or on breaks). He liked looking at fit people, still does, and he liked kissing, but he just never happened to get around to doing anything else. Not for lack of wanting to, of course - of course! Just… never happened.

After his death he did try a few things but it just felt… wrong. Felt sort of like nothing and sort of, if he’s really, really honest with himself, like he remembers nausea feeling. He puts it down to ghost limitations. He can’t feel touch right, probably can’t feel anything like that right.

And then he’s with Edwin. And he can touch Edwin. He can feel Edwin. And every second his skin is against Edwin’s, it sings. So surely it must work, now?

It doesn’t.

Edwin’s hand creeps up his thigh, and it feels the same as it did on his hand (wonderful - but not special, not different, and he knows it’s supposed to feel different somehow). Maybe he just needs to go further? But as he’s moving against Edwin, and feeling sort of like nothing and sort of like everything (skin against skin still sings) and sort of like nausea, he thinks, ah. I guess it still doesn’t work, even ghost to ghost, even with someone I can feel. I guess ghosts just can’t do that.

Until he looks into Edwin’s eyes. And he realizes Edwin isn’t feeling nothing and isn’t feeling nausea. Edwin’s eyes are pupil-full, black and shining, looking up at him with feverish heat and naked pleasure.

Things Charles doesn’t feel.

Can’t feel.

And he’s run out of excuses for why.
