(id like to preface this by saying i dont think Ouma has a canon sexuality outside of being mlm, although bi/pan Ouma makes me personally uncomfortable.) since you asked: i see Ouma as gay and not bi/pan because of the way he treats people. through out the game, i felt that he treated the guys and the girls differently. his teasing towards guys feels flirty and his teasing towards girls doesnt. something about the way he treated the girls felt more mean spirited. i totally get what you mean, anon! i don’t really ship ouma w a lot of females sadly, because i just don’t see a lot of the dangan girls fitting with ouma. celes is probably the only one that stands out for me and that’s really it? then again, the only person i really ship w ouma is amami so /shrug. he did call amami his “beloved” when he saw amami’s body, but i think that’s just a joke in and of itself. he sure did tease himiko a lot, and i guess you could rack that all up to the trope of a schoolboy teasing a female classmate bc he likes her???? however a big bone to pick i have w the dangan fandom is all the so-called proof of ouma//sai? tbh saihara was more annoyed of ouma to me, and negative feelings like that aren’t really a basis for a relationship imo. i feel like the only proof of ouma//sai is 1) love hotel (which aint canon) and 2) ftes/banter which is just that - banter. ftes are meant to explore a character in depth, and saihara is the universal constant in all ftes (except ch 1 w kaede obvs)

speaking of banter, ouma did have a LOT of banter w himiko. and yea, you did bring up that it’s kinda unknown if kaito’s lines were scripted or adlibbed, but honestly it’s all up to interpretation at this point? it’s been about 3 years since the release of the game, so honestly go buckwild with interpretations - but with that being said, it doesn’t mean your interpretation is canon. and i think the banter with himiko in the ch 5 trial is just another thing for the players to decide themselves whether or not ouma liked himiko

i personally think that hc’ing something because of stereotypes is just . . . really a shitty thing to do in some cases (esp when it comes to touchy subjects). but yeah i’m with you when you say you hc most of the dangan characters as bi/pan. again, i am bisexual myself, so i guess i like to see representation of who i am in popular media. don’t get me wrong, i think a lot of other lgbt members do this too, but for me it’s heightened because being bi/pan is sometimes frowned upon by members of the lgbt community themselves :/

i really do appreciate this, though! initially i was kinda bugged out when i saw 4 long asks in my inbox tbh . . . probably because i thought it was an incorrect in-depth analysis of ouma being “canonically gay” fjkdsjklfdsjlk but yea, thanks for keeping this civil once again! i respect that you personally see ouma as gay, and that’s totally alright ^^
