Castiel walked into the dimly lit room, the quiet hum of the bunker filling the silence. His eyes immediately fell on Dean, sprawled out on the floor with an empty whiskey bottle by his side. Dean’s face was flushed, eyes glassy, and he was muttering to himself, caught in a haze that Castiel had seen too many times before.

With a sigh, Castiel moved closer, crouching down beside him. "Dean," he said softly, a gentle but firm hand on Dean's shoulder.

Dean looked up, squinting as he recognized the familiar blue eyes. "Cas… you shouldn’t be here… I’m a mess."

Castiel’s heart ached, seeing the pain Dean tried so hard to hide behind his bravado. "I am here because I care, Dean," he replied. "And I want to help you."

Dean let out a mirthless chuckle, the sound hollow. "You can’t fix this one, Cas. I’m too broken.

Ignoring his protest, Castiel’s hand moved from Dean’s shoulder to gently cup his cheek. "You’re not broken, Dean," he murmured, his thumb brushing softly along Dean’s stubbled jaw. "You’re hurting. But I’m here. You don’t have to face this alone."

Without another word, Castiel leaned forward, his lips brushing softly against Dean’s in a gentle, grounding kiss. There was warmth and strength in that kiss, a silent promise that he wasn’t going anywhere, no matter how dark things became.

As their lips touched, a warm glow filled the room, and Dean felt a strange but welcome clarity washing over him, the fog of alcohol lifting as Castiel’s grace did its work. Slowly, Castiel pulled back, watching as Dean’s eyes refocused.

Dean blinked, clear-eyed and aware, the world suddenly sharper and more real. He looked at Castiel, his mouth parting as if to say something, but words failed him.

Cas gave him a small, encouraging smile. "You’re not alone, Dean. And I’ll be here, every step of the way."

Dean swallowed, nodding slowly as he let the meaning of those words sink in. This wasn’t the end—it was a new beginning, one they could face together.
