Eren - Night owl? But only because he hates getting up early in the morning.

Mikasa - Night owl, she rarely gets tired late at night and is often seen doing late training.

Armin - Early bird, for personal studying time before everyone crowds him for assistance.

Jean - Night owl, he would much prefer staying up late so he can sleep in longer.

Marco - Early bird, back at home he’d do so to prepare breakfast and laundry early.

Connie - Night owl, and yet there are times when he falls asleep faster than he wishes.

Sasha - Night owl, for she use to do late night hunting back home and likes stargazing.

Historia - Early bird, she likes to get up so she can see the morning sunrise herself.

Ymir - Night owl, doesn’t normally get tired, but also to avoid odd dreams she experiences.

Annie - Night owl, always caught late training and rarely seen sleeping by others at all.

Reiner - Early bird, early muscle exercises is good for him, he says.

Feli looked up at him. “Have you had ice cream before?” she asked.

“Once,” Bertholdt said once he’d had the chance to process the question. It had been a little before the Paradis mission, another small, meaningless gesture from the military to the children they had sentenced to an early grave. They were all too young to appreciate how twisted it was, and pounced on the unfamiliar luxury like starved animals. He remembered how Reiner, just like Feli, had experienced a bout of brain freeze, and how Zeke heartily laughed at his confused expression. Marcel had given most of his ice cream to a pouty Porco, as if the cone was a consolation prize to make up for his lack of a Titan. Annie had never looked so delighted as when she was consuming the sweet, until Pieck teased her for a second too long and her expression returned to its usual glare.

Bertholdt only got one lick in before a bird landed on him with an entitled squawk. He had batted his arms in an attempt to dislodge the creature, and the rest of his ice cream became a casualty of war, nothing but a melting smear on the cobblestone path beneath him. And though Reiner offered to share with him once he saw his predicament, Bertholdt refused, not wanting Reiner to go down with him.

a personal anecdote: i recently submitted my paperwork to legally change my name (yay! fun!) which meant i had to go into the office in the city to do so (yay! fun! i love the city! i live in assfuck nowhere! the city is exciting!)

so my middle name is eren, right? because it means saint, which is a close meaning to my grandfathers’ name (they had the same name lol) and it uses mostly the same letters as my birth middle name (a combination of my grandmother’s names) and has the same meaning as my grandma’s name. it’s also gender neutral, and i’ve loved it for about five years, i was actually planning to use it as a first name before i settled on taylor but then there was a certain fictional character and my moral ocd kicked in and blah blah

anyway, i filled in all the paperwork, confirmed what i wanted my name to be, etc. and i’d been emotional and fighting back tears (relief and stress and happiness and weird bittersweet grief) the whole time, so the workers behind the desk had been very lovely and struck up a conversation with me while they waited for everything to be checked over before i left. and THEN as i was leaving, one of the guys says “oh hey, i like your attack on titan tattoo” and i froze. because that man now believes that i named myself after an anime boy

and for my new followers — my deadname, my birth name, my original legal name before my mother insisted on changing it when i was but a wee babe — was elizabeth. as in, the root name of lisbeth. because my brother was obsessed with sao. and my parents let their autistic teenage son name his baby sister. so i was named after an anime girl

and it is arguably the funniest fucking thing in the world to me rn that i’ve gone from being named after one anime character to being named after a different anime character. i’m gonna marry someone with the last name midford just so i can get all the hyperfixations in there at once. i’m collecting infinity stones but it’s just fictional character’s names

Eren: Are they trying to say that I came back as a bird just to put that scarf back around Mikasa’s neck? Why is Armin thanking me for killing so many people? He was so adamant about stopping the Rumbling, but now he is cool with it because the narrative said I did it for their sake. Am I supposed to believe that Mikasa got over her obsession with me even though it doesn’t look like it? I feel bad for her husband because the only time we see her with him is visiting my grave, that seems more like she settled because she didn’t want to die alone. Am I also supposed to want to punch myself when I am throwing that temper tantrum over Mikasa falling in love with another guy after I am gone, because I really want to punch myself in that scene. But most importantly of all, fuck you for saying that Ymir Fritz was in love with King Fritz, you know the guy that called her his slave. It is especially bad when the narrative wants to compare Ymir Fritz and King Fritz to Mikasa and me where I am put in the role of King Fritz. Why is it now saying that Ymir Fritz waited 2,000 years for Mikasa when before everything in the story pointed to her waiting for me. This is almost enough to make me want to finish the Rumbling.

*decides to instead hunt down any copy of Vol 34 he can and rip out the pages for Chapter 139 from each copy*

Historia: You also forgot to add how stupid it was to have Reiner drool over the letter I wrote after all the character development he had. It is also cute that they think that I would be happy with one of the guys that bullied me especially when I have you for my husband.

Eren: Sorry about that, you are right, it is stupid what they did to you especially when the story seemed to build up you getting with me and making a baby with me. It is almost as if someone really wanted me and Mikasa to be a thing even though the narrative was leaning towards it being terrible for both me and Mikasa.
