It is, tragically, possible to have rent and groceries and doctors bills and cute clothes paid for without a second’s thought and still have a bad time of it, because even rich people are human beings who come from families of human beings and have human friends and lovers and staff and coworkers and part of the human condition is that sometimes some of us suffer.

I get the impulse to be resentful of someone singing about having a hard time when the spare change from between her couch cushions would easily save your life. I’ve been through a period of my life where I tried not to obviously resent my friends for *having food*. It’s ok if you can’t listen to her for that reason and in fact I’d argue that you shouldn’t. It’s painful, and it’s not the kind of pain that produces anything worthwhile, just more resentment. But “she’s making up alcoholism for clout” is such a deeply stupid way to phrase that. You don’t know her. What if she isn’t? What if she IS? Making up personas is literally part of her brand. Do you need a hug? Sincerely. I think a hug would maybe be more productive here. I’m sorry things are hard. It’s not fair. You’re right. It isn’t.

I just think one slightly overexposed pop singer is maybe not the main reason it’s hard.

what is with all the paid/early access advent calendars this year? I've seen several creators posting stuff that is 100% paywalled until christmas or later and it's honestly confusing? I thought the community expectation was that advent gifts are free and/or free day of, but you have to wait to DL if you miss that day

like it just feels counter to the spirit of the community and the spirit of the holiday to be like "here's my exciting new gift for today! except it's not a gift, and you'd better pay up if you want to use this seasonal content before the end of the season"

None or very few instances of AUs I would instantly write on AO3 right now and I suspect part of this is because anime Kabru is played so much more like a creepy villain than a guy who's trying to be Char Aznable but is just a very principled player character in a D&D game. He's Casca and Griffith's son in the least terrible way possible. No one sees my vision.
