I saw the rumor a few days ago about rebooting at least some of the Star Wars sequels (thanks, @bileenas), and I have to say, sounds like a terrible idea. Most of the things I regularly see “fans” complaining about relate to things that I think of as progress, even if it wasn’t as much as I would have liked. I would expect any changes to be a step backwards.

Let’s just say, I saw someone comment about Disney being unable to trick John and Oscar into coming back (and, for that matter, Kelly Marie) and I don’t think that would be an issue.

On a personal note, I found the sequels left me a bit down, along with R1 and some other things over the past four years or so. I know it’s SUPPOSED to be hopeful and coming back from everything being torn down (again), and I know many of the stories that originally inspired Star Wars had that kind of cycle. I just found that this went too far in an already pretty craptastic universe. The rumor said the reboot would be of TLJ and RoS, but most of what caused my reaction was in TFA, TLJ just did that little bit more to finish me off. So it wouldn’t help me, in any event.

Perhaps if they restricted themselves to plugging supposed plot holes, I just don’t think it would stop there. Not that I believe the rumor, anyway, but I wanted to meander on it a bit.
