JAISALMER TRAVEL GUIDE
Depending on where you came from, you can now get to Jaisalmer through a variety of different modes of transportation. If you are coming from Delhi, you can get there by plane, bus, or train. If you are coming from a faraway location, you can also try to get to Jaipur or Jodhpur first. Unwind in unparalleled luxury at Ozaki Desert Safari Camp, the epitome of elegance among the desert camps in Jaisalmer.
Tumblr media
How to get to Jaisalmer is outlined in detail here.
By road, Jaisalmer is well connected to numerous state and international cities. From Jodhpur, Jaipur, Mount Abu, Bikaner, and other cities, you can take either public or private buses. to Jaisalmer. Private buses also depart from Ahmedabad, Delhi, and other cities for Jaisalmer.
By Rail
Jaisalmer also has a train station that serves cities like Jaipur, Delhi, Jodhpur, Ajmer, and others directly.
On the IRCTC website, you can see which trains go from your city to Jaisalmer. You can look for a train to cities like Jaipur, Delhi, Jodhpur, etc. if there is no direct train. and afterward change the train for Jaisalmer from that point.
By Air
Another option is to fly to the Jaisalmer Airport, which is about 10 to 15 kilometers from the city center. However, there are fewer flights to this location, so it might be best to fly first, then take a train or bus.
How to Get Around Jaisalmer
Because it is a small city, there are no local buses that will take you around the city or to the Sam Sand Dunes. However, there are other options for getting around that you can investigate. Discover the unmatched charm of the Jaisalmer Sam Sand Dunes Desert Safari Camp, where opulence and natural beauty converge.
Auto Rickshaws
There are a lot of reasonably priced auto rickshaws in this area. Therefore, you can take an auto to the airport, railway station, etc. From the Gadisar Lake roundabout, an autorickshaw will cost around 50 INR.
Walking
To be honest, walking was my favorite way to see this city. In the city, the post and the Havelis are very nearby so you can undoubtedly cover it by walking. Moti Mahal, Nathmal ki Havel, and Patwon ki Haveli can all be seen as a starting point for your journey to the Jaisalmer Fort.
Also, choose a place to stay close to these streets because it will be easier for you to walk around.
Two-Wheeler
Renting a two-wheeler is another great way to make the most of your brief time in this city. You can find rental shops for almost every brand of two-wheeler, from bikes to Active. This will make it simpler for you to visit nearby attractions like Bada Bagh, Vyas Chhatri, and Kuldhara Village. As the foremost choice for a remarkable desert adventure, our Luxury Desert Camp in Sam Sand Dunes offers a haven of sophistication amidst the stunning Jaisalmer landscape.
Taxis
At last, in the event that you don't have the foggiest idea how to ride a bike then your main choice for arriving at the Thar desert is utilizing a taxi/taxi. For a one-way trip to the Sam Sand Dunes, a private taxi will set you back 2500 Indian Rupees.
Notwithstanding, in the event that you are traveling solo and have picked a gathering bundle for the Sand Ridges, then, at that point, you can impart the expense for different explorers.
Best Time to Visit Jaisalmer
Because Jaisalmer maintains a minimum daily temperature of 25 degrees Celsius throughout the year, it is essential to schedule your trip during the appropriate month. As the Best Desert Safari Camp in Jaisalmer, our exquisite campsite at the Sam Sand Dunes is a haven of opulence and tranquility.
Winter Season
The winter months, when the sun is comparatively bearable, are the best times to visit Jaisalmer. This additionally is the pinnacle season for Jaisalmer as individuals from everywhere the world travel here to partake in the desert setting up camp insight.
The Golden City is most unpleasant to visit during the summer months. This is due not only to the scorching heat but also to the fact that most camps and activities are closed during this time.
As a result, there are not many options for exploring the Sam sand dunes on a camel or desert jeep safari. Our Desert Camp In Jaisalmer offers a gateway to serenity amidst the captivating Sam Sand Dunes.
Monsoon Season
Since the Golden City gets very little rain, there isn't really a monsoon season. The late spring season closes around July end and local people begin getting for the colder time of year from August.

★ We pay taxes, rent; we must pay Mother Earth too: Salman Khan !
New Delhi, June 5 : Bollywood star Salman Khan, who on World Environment Day launched e-cycles under his Being Human brand, says the endeavour is an effort to contribute towards the well-being of our earth.
"Since the time I got into movies, my fans have accepted me... They pay to watch my movies. It's my time to give back to fans," Salman told IANS in an email interview from Mumbai on Monday.
"We pay our taxes, we pay rent and the most important thing is to pay Mother Earth to live here," added the superstar, said to be Bollywood's highest advance tax payer for the financial year 2016-17.
The actor, once accused of poaching blackbucks near Jodhpur in 1998, said he feels very close to nature.
"We come from farm lands, my parents and grandparents. My grandfather is from Jammu. All our meals coming back from school used to come from the fruit-bearing trees in Bandra (Mumbai). So, I have planted fruit-bearing trees in my building and in my farm.
"Nature is very important... We need to plant as many trees as possible," said the "Dabangg" star, who has regaled film audiences for over two decades.
His e-cycles, priced from Rs 40,000 to Rs 57,000, are aimed towards sustainable city development, with less emissions and noise.
It's part of his offerings under brand Being Human, under which he already has apparel and jewellery segments -- sales of which are used for education and healthcare of the underprivileged in India.
There's also news that Salman will be venturing into smartphones.
Talking about the expansion plans, the actor said: "We have just started our entry into the category, we need to be careful. If people buy our products and like it, we will see. We are starting the cycles and the smartphones in small numbers and we hope to have minimum losses and maximum gain.
"We also plan to start gym equipment."
Fitness is something Salman has been promoting since his foray into showbiz. His chiselled physique has inspired fans and fraternity friends to work hard towards a well-built body.
Discussing the virtues of cycling, Salman said: "Since I was a child, I always cycled. Young kids are getting into high-powered bikes, and there are often accidents. E-cycles are more eco-friendly than motor cycles, it's easy to commute and it's also a good workout."
The fitness freak is often seen cycling around in Mumbai himself.
"Sitting in the car takes a lot of time. I reach the studio a lot faster and since I have been cycling all my life, I prefer it," said the 51-year-old.
"The first time my father got me a cycle on rent for 25 paise, he held the seat and I thought he was behind me, but he had left it... and I was cycling on my own. I was four or five years old," he said recounting a fond memory.
On the film front, Salman will next be seen in Kabir Khan's "Tubelight".

Trains & motos & palaces & forts
These have been the things consuming all our time the last couple weeks. It’s been a barrage of traveling and exploring. From the completely abandoned and decrepit fort complex at Bundhi to the marvelously preserved palace at Jodhpur. Each day is a complete immersion.
Tuktuk rides after brief negotiations. Restaurants with dirt floors and tarp roofs. Food that looks like slop but tastes amazing. Cows loving, fighting or most often, lonesomely wandering the streets. Children everywhere saying hello and asking our names. Indian Border Security Forces at 1am at the train station looking at me like I’m a zoo animal asking if my hair is real. Cool mornings and evenings and hot afternoons. Walls, gates and doorways hundreds of year olds nonchalantly holding up guesthouses and homes. Children flying tissue paper kites from rooftops in every city.
The last couple days in Jaisalmer have been a wonderful break away from exploring history. Jaisalmer is home to a 15th century sandstone fort and palace on a plateau in the Thar Desert. After exploring this amazing and unique compound we rented a couple Royal Enfields and headed towards the sandy horizon.
We spent the first day exploring the sandy ruins of Kuldhar. From there we continued northwest through the Desert National Park. Here we found our first ever desert sand dunes rising above the brush. Further north from here we rode an hour and a half or so through tiny paved roads. At lonesome crossroads we saw a man pull a bandana covered pistol out of his waistband and hand it to the passenger of a moving truck. We passed many herders with flocks of goats and sheep, wearing turbans and long white robes. One tobacco tooth stained, Hindi speaking herder called us over for some unintelligible conversation, when he got close enough to me to press his body against mine, we quickly throttled up, leaving him in the dust. The rocky, sandy, brush filled Desert and the locals in their villages of tiny square brick buildings looked exactly like something out of the news from some of the nearby places in the Middle East.
We reached Ramgarh, 50 miles from the Pakistan border where we enquired with the local police about getting special permission to visit Tanot Mata, a temple another 30 or 40 kilometers West towards Pakistan. The road is said to be very windy and mountainous. It’s also under the control of the BSF - Border Security Forces as skirmishes with neighboring Pakistani fighters have occurred as recently as last November. The police instructed us to get permission from BSF HQ in Jaisalmer. We returned to town by dusk, after a wonderful and beautiful day.
Early the next morning we went straight to BSF Headquarters at 8am where we were told to return at 10am to request permission from the Officer on duty. We did just that and amazingly were granted permission, without then knowing anything besides the fact that we were American! Unfortunately we could not get them to give us any paperwork declaring this permission.
We struck out back toward Ramgarh and arrived after one hours ride. Pulling into town an Indian Army soldier advised we check in with the police. The same police officer from yesterday (a portly, mustachioed fellow) said we could not pass Ramgarh without written permission. After much discussion and asking the police to ring BSF, the officer loudly threatened to arrest me. Such was the end of our journey to Tanot Mata. The whole game of yes/no was very typical of India and I think government bureaucracy worldwide.
We reversed our circle route from the prior day and stopped at Sam Sand Dunes. Large and pretty dunes that are the home base for all of Jaisalmer’s camel safaris and ‘desert experiences’. They are also the home of many touts selling camel rides. We found it thoroughly commercial here and despite our best attempts to hide and enjoy the dunes, we were constantly harassed by young camel jockeys until we finally gave up and left.
From here we got a bottle of beer and headed back West away from even the villages. We found a thoroughly secluded scrub of brush, parked the bikes and walked into the sand 100 or so meters. Here we enjoyed a beer and the sandy horizon together and recognized that the world is a trap and we’re best suited far far from it.
Love from Jaipur.
