Tropical Breezes, both warm and sweet, was once a large part of my comfort zone. Gentle clicking of palm fronds complimenting the eruptive crash of rolling waves, washing the shoreline and my worries away. These are a few of the characteristics Hawaii has used to shape my childhood. Sand squishing beneath my child-size feet as I gallop across the shorelines, or rugged lava rock imprinting the skin as my little toes venture in search of natural sea-salt collecting on the sedimentary lava rocks.  These moments trigger my senses, I can still feel grains of sand in my hair, slight burning on my skin from the formidable sun, and endless sea shells clenched in my hands. I was raised here, where the wallflowers of the world flock, seeking existential answers, or to revel in a beacon of tropical beauty; The Big Island.  It was here, that I met my darling husband, Cash. It was here, that we fell in love. It was here, that foreshadowed whom I was going to become. I became bored of the small town, the customer service jobs, and the familiar faces from preschool to adulthood. I craved something beyond the endless horizon of the ocean. Wistful dreams of lands beyond that hazy blue line. I got my wish.  Cash and I decided to move to Olympia, Washington, where his family and memories resided. Opportunity exploded! Fast-paced and energized, we weaved through academia, jobs, cities, mountains, friends, and hopeful prosperity. Trendy bistros and Moscow mules replaced my beloved sand bars..  

Brisk air and morning fog clinging to the evergreen pines, the snow covered peak of Mt. Rainier standing proud and tall, to be seen and admired from anywhere. The anticipation for changing seasons as leaves transform and flaunt their colors one last time; Fall. My favorite aspect of Washington. I have adopted the smells of coffee grounds, and fresh rain. The store fronts advertising autumn fashion and of course, all the boots. We found ourselves a quaint one bedroom apartment close to all the hip grocery stores, where wine and over priced cheese were just a hop skip away. Featuring a tiny, shade covered balcony, overlooking a vast view of.... the highway. Before too long, school books stacked atop our dining room table, My husband painstakingly researching towards a better future for us. Finally, I made my first real investment in my photography, a used desktop, that barely fit among the school books as it was, and a new software that I pinched pennies to afford. It was in this apartment, in that tiny corner (that i called an office) that our dreams were getting born, just reaching the surface before even we knew what to expect. It was in that apartment, that my husband proposed. Eventually we moved into a home, Cash graduated with a Bachelors, and I made a career with a company I believed in. We traveled often, sometimes back to the familiar, open arms of the Big Island, and sometimes, off to new lands oceans apart. We have grown spiritually, together, and now we can see the future that’s always seemed out of reach. This is our story, and we are always revising. We want to be apart of the love, adventure, and the laughs. Capturing blimps of moments to remember forever, THAT is our mission;  let us tell your story.
