the first episode of twin peaks is like "haha look at this city boy all impressed by some trees; how charming" but i just visited vancouver island and saw giant, centuries-old douglas firs in person for the first time, and i get it now. i get it. those trees really are Something

#ray speaks #i grew up in southern ontario; spent a lot of my childhood hiking in the forest on the bruce peninsula....#the forests i grew up with in ontario don't even come close to the ones i saw in the past week on the west coast #biggest trees ive ever seen. and so many of them. could barely believe what i was seeing. truly awe-inspiring #im sorry mr special agent dale cooper i didn't realize just how actually impressive those douglas firs could be
