I feel as though I've been here a lot lately, apparently I've wanted to talk as this kin more than I realized. To the Toy Soldier I talked to recently, if you see this, I wanted to thank you. You're the first Mechanism I've been able to interact with in this life(?? timeline? universe?) and I think I needed to more than I could have guessed.

The Bifrost Incident is one of my favorite albums, and I've felt odd about that since kinfirming, given that it is effectively a musical about my deepest trauma. I had a bit of a realization that the reason I was still so able to enjoy it, even happily singing the part of the Void itself or gods forbid Red Signal despite that chant haunting me, is because I had already processed it I suppose? It didn't really sink in that of course I can enjoy a musical about my trauma, I did join the Mechanisms which means I'm one of them! And you agreed! Said that it's something the crew tends to do, turning our traumas into song and honestly I can't tell you how much I needed to hear that. I didn't write TBI, but it was still about what I and my former star system went through, the events that led to the end. I don't have the crew with me right now, no chaotic games of hide and shoot or Ashes teaching me how to cheat at cards or Marius and his damned violin or tea parties with questionable amounts of teeth with you, TS, so it's been harder to remember that this is how the crew has always processed traumas, through song. This got deeply rambly and I think if you actually do see this I'd be embarrassed at getting so emotional over something so minor, just one quick sentence in a conversation, but I really do appreciate your kind words.

I truly can't thank you enough for reminding me that it isn't a bad thing that I can enjoy the album, even the parts that once upon a time gave me the most grief, and still do to an extent if I think too deeply.

It makes me so happy seeing a few other Mechs (or Mechanisms album characters, like myself (though I did end up aboard the Aurora as part of the crew even if it took a while)) on here! I personally know a fair few Mechanisms fans irl, but no fictionfolk, so seeing you all makes me feel a lot less alone. The Aurora was so big, but she was always so lively and I miss it. I hope you all have a great day (and a special hello to the recent Toy Soldier! I saw your ask just before starting to type this one up)

Hmm. This is interesting. It's odd being a fan of something for years before finally realizing that you kin one of the characters from it. I don't have too much to say right now, but von Raum? It kills me to admit but I never really hated your singing, and Tales to be Told is a lovely song when it has all the instruments and isn't being performed exclusively to annoy me. I can't believe I miss you, but I do.

i don’t remember much at the moment, but i remember how it felt when sigyn pushed those tubes into me. my hair got in the way a few times, and she tried to be gentle, to not hurt me, but it was inevitable. it had to hurt, so the train could keep going. it had to hurt her, too, though not in the same way, i’m sure. sig, i’m sorry that you had to do that. that you had to sit there with me for years on end, watching me decay. but, at least we were together in our final moments, right?

haha new memory unlocked: i was there when frigga died. like, me and thor rushed in. i remember holding her while thor ran off to try and kill malekith and prevent him from getting away while i tried to see if i could do something.

i still don’t know if i could’ve done something, odin came in and i wasn’t supposed to be out of my cell so i stepped back. i just stood there fucking useless as thor and odin surrounded her body because i was too scared to go near odin.
