Bichu
Pokédex Entry beneath the cut.
Happy Bisexual Awareness Month! I wanted to continue revisiting my Pride-Colored Pokémon for visibility days and weeks this year. For Bi Pokémon, i have a small variety of bisexual, biromantic, as well as a couple of bicurious creatures. And while i realize some of them might be a stretch (ie: Raichu and Bichu are more rhymes than sounding similar enough to flow perfect/fit into the name/sound like a pun), i thought that if i was going to share any Pokémon this month it was going to be the first of the two original Bisexual Pokémon. And while Pikachu is amazing and most prefer it to Raichu personally i think Raichu is very underrated and easy to overlook, the latter of which might not be too different from being bi. So i hope you can look at Bichu and see now only how amazing and powerful you are, but that you absolutely electrify peoples' lives.
BICHU
A Bisexual Pokémon
It can release 100,000 volt-bursts of electricity. When the electric pouches on its cheeks are empty, Bichu may search for electricity either in the atmosphere by raising its tail or in the ground by planting its tail. When the pouches are fully charged its ears will stand straight up. In addition to gathering electricity, Bichu can use its tail to protect itself from getting shocked. When it plants its tail it may also discharge electricity. You know a Bichu is nearby due to triangular scorch marks in the ground. Bichu may emit small shocks from its body which make it appear to glow in the dark. While Bichu’s electric attacks are incredibly powerful, enough to take on an opponent several times its size, it is most dangerous when agitated. When too much electricity builds its muscles become stimulated, causing irritation in Bichu’s body. This is believed to be linked to stress as well, particularly when met with biphobia. With enough love, support, and acceptance, Bichu is more likely to store and release electricity naturally. Bichu are attracted to multiple genders, though the specific number as well as the exact genders are dependent on each individual Bichu; the number typically ranges from two to all. While some Bichu may ultimately appear in a heteronormative-presenting relationship with another Pokémon, it does not diminish nor erase Bichu’s bisexuality. These Pokémon will not hesitate to attack any opponent that threatens them or their community.

Sunset at Bichūbunji temple in Okayama I love the Bichu branch temple before sunrise and at dusk. It's almost time for rice planting, and I love the scenery this season.

PANSAGE
A Pansexual Pokémon. A caregiving Pokémon, Pansage gathers the berries it finds in the forest and shares them with everyone who may need them. The leaves on its sprout have been said to alleviate exhaustion. However recent studies have indicated that they are also useful in reducing stress. It is recommended that those dealing with anxiety keep or regularly visit a Pansage. A kind and thoughtful Pokémon, Pansage will not hesitate to feed or help someone in need. Due to its nonjudgmental nature, Pansage has resonated greatly with those in the LGBTQIA+ community. Its natural coloring which directly mimics the pansexual flag pattern make it one of the most easily approachable Pokémon to the community. Its nature of sharing regardless who the person or Pokémon is is indicative of its sexuality in that it is the Pokémon who matters rather than what their orientation or gender is. Pansage can be attracted to all genders, though its romantic orientation as well as gender identity may vary. (Note that this is not to be confused with bisexuality or omnisexuality.) It is rumored that the stronger a connection Pansage has to the Pokémon it shares with, the better the leaves and berries will taste. Since its discovery Pansage has remained a physical and emotional staple in the LGBTQIA+ community.

"I like weapons," she says simply as she twirls a pen around, throws it in the air and catches it too, "knives and daggers; especially katars and bichuwas, but swords like ram-dao's and talwars and urumi's are cool too."
Tumblr media
mike watches her twirl the pen - a habit he has as well, particularly when he's nervous or stuck on an idea. "you lost me at bichu-something," he admits with a small grin. katars he knows. well, on second thought, he knows kataras. but he's not quite sure if it's the same. better to ask. "katars - are they like kataras? or are they something else?" this time, it's him who really can't follow what udyati is telling him. still, he loves the enthusiasm with which she shares her hobby. "can you show me what they are?"
