1: sexuality headcanon 

Okay, so Jinora. I don’t have a defined sexuality headcanon for her but she strikes me as demisexual while I believe Ikki is ace. I think Opal is bi/pan but at the present she identifies as straight.

2: otp 

Jinora’s OTP is Kai. They look very cute together and I think they complement each other well. I don't have a romantic OTP for Ikki. For Opal, although I think her romance with Bolin is cute, I actually like the Korra/Opal pairing since their interactions while Korra was in Zaofu were brief but nice, but I’m not sure if it would be an OTP, so at the moment, her OTP is Bo.

3: brotp 

Jinora in canon has a great relationship with her aunt Kya and in a canon divergence AU, I believe she would strike an unexpected friendship with Kuvira because as I mentioned in my Kuvira headcanon, Kuvira enjoys the company of smart people and Jinora certainly fits the bill while Jinora is perceptive enough to see that underneath the aloof countenance, Kuvira has an awkward side to her that makes her relatable.

For Ikki, her brotp is her uncle Bumi. I think she would also get along well with Wei and Wing Beifong because they share the same carefree, energetic vibes.

Opal is Toph’s favorite grandkid and Toph makes absolutely no effort in hiding this fact, and it's fun to see cranky old Toph being protective and a softie for Opal. I think Opal would also get along very well with Asami. They have a lot in common if we think about it since they’re both rich girls from prominent families who have been underestimated.

4: notp 

Anything remotely incestuous is a big no-go for me for all three characters. I see those and I nope the hell away.

5: first headcanon that pops into my head 

Jiinora has been an avid reader since before she knew how to read well, and she would look at the pictures of the books fascinated. Once she learned how to read, which was earlier than most kids, she would spend hours in the library at Air Temple Island reading so much that she ended up memorizing the complete biographies of Yangchen and Aang. 

Ikki is the main Sky Bison caregiver, no doubt about it. She understands them so well that she can even predict which bison will bond with any Airbender.

Opal will eventually become master airbender and will earn her arrow tattoos before marrying Bolin, and she will eventually lead the new Air Nomads Temple in the Earth Kingdom. 

6: favorite line from this character 

Jinora: There haven't been this many airbenders in one place for a long time either. We have power together.

Ikki: But, I guess the nice part about a family is they'll always be there for you. Even though Twinkle Starchild and Princess Rainbow fight, they still love each other.

With Jinora is her love for books and learning. With Ikki I share the middle child syndrome, and what I can relate to with Opal is her strained relationship with a sibling.

Being related to Meelo 🤣

Opal: having to explain to everyone that her brother Baatar and Kuvira, who was raised as a "sister" were engaged. 😬

(bi-jinora) Sanaoki storyline! (And yes I made that ship name up on the spot can you tell?) Basically, his side is pretty similar to canon. Had a falling out with his family, etc. For Naoki, I imagine something similar must have happened, because I feel like she would have had a pretty close relationship with her parents and didn't particularly dislike the way her life was. But maybe she just needed a change of pace and left suddenly, and then was too ashamed to go fix the mess she had made. Tbc

Either way, they meet in Republic City, and become friends. Eventually they fall in love, and there's probably also bonding over the fact that they both made extreme decisions in the heat of moments that they now regret but are too ashamed to fix. There us great angst potential with this, though- like, I wonder how the Gaang's kids deal with finding out about Naoki's death. Do they find out? After all, San's side of the family only knew because of the one picture. Huh. Tbc, I guess

I'm kind of a sucker for angst now, so I'm ALL FOR IT here. I can see miscommunication between Naoki and her parents, and it's just hard to reconcile after such a drastic change. Would be interesting to see the specifics of that.

But then I love that their big life change and emotional hardship after is what brings San and Naoki together! And if you have more to share, please do! I'm very intrigued :D

fandoms: mainly atla and tlok at the moment, but i have fics for several other fandoms on my ao3 (no promises i will ever write for any of them again, but it could happen)

two-shots?: uhh i think my only two-shot i've posted is sticky notes which is a tales of arcadia fic i wrote back in 2018. i have a couple ideas for prequels/sequels/side-fics(???) for other oneshots that i suppose could just be a second chapter but i guess i don't really write two-shots

most popular multi-chapter: my pride and joy, the longest fic i've finished to date, this ultraviolet morning light

actual worst part of writing: when you have an idea for a fic except this "idea" is just vibes. those are the times when i wish i was better at art bc i'll be like "okay i want to write a fic with yue and sokka friendship with ace yue and trans sokka!" and then my brain will stop there and not provide a plot so i'm just. stuck with the vibes. and i can't do anything with vibes. (no of course that's not a real example of a fic i've tried to start three different times now what are you talking about)

how you choose your titles: song lyrics. nine times out of ten, it's a song lyric. the other one time, it's usually a pun

do you outline: not as much as i should ksjdgjfjh i have started outlining more for longer fics but for oneshots, i usually just. go for it and see what happens

ideas i probably won't get around to, but wouldn't it be nice?: oh there are so many. i mean, the ask game i just did last night had several i answered with something like "idk if i'll ever actually write this BUT..." one i didn't mention though is a very long fic i came up with based very loosely on the song snow by ricky montgomery that's a war-never-happened au/zukka enemies to lovers fic/sokka character study/moon spirit!yue, ocean spirit!katara, and sun spirit!azula au/[redacted] sokka au/no avatar au and it is...... quite a lot. i could definitely see it being upwards of 200k words which is why i'm not sure i'll ever get around to actually writing it. but if i did... it would be sick, just trust me on that. the amv that plays in my head whenever i hear the song that inspired it is really cool

spicy tangential opinion: more people should write fics for the ace yue & sokka has tourette's tags on ao3. they deserve to be common tags and i want my legacy in the atla fandom to be helping make that happen. (also we need more fics in the aro bumi ii, bi izumi, pan jinora, hard of hearing ikki, jet has adhd, ty lee has adhd, and aro june tags. but one thing at a time i suppose)

best writing traits: uhhh i don't know?? sometimes i just write certain sections (whether dialogue or internal monologue) that just make me go DANG THAT WAS GOOD!! so just. whenever that happens. also the fact that i will continuously write fics based on headcanons no one else shares with me bc i believe in them very firmly even if no one else does <3

A lot of times, when a fandom is like that the kin community is the same, and I don't want to try to put up with biphobia, panphobia or other radfem rhetoric just to find canonmates. I was gonna go with 200 AG, but that doesn't work with my current Maliri headcanons where they met in like 180/181 AG at Korrasami's engagment party. Okay, so the Maliri plotline os as such: Siliri is a non-bender from the Northern Water Tribe, either Mako's age or a 1 year gap in either direction. She was in the South Pole visiting her cousin, and she wasn't gonna actively NOT go to the Avatar's engagement party. So she went, and met Mako because they were both akwardly standing by a food table to avoid having to dance. She's a bit awkward in social situations in general, and throw a cut person her age in the mix and, well.

More Siliri! She loves talking about politics and sharing opinions, and once she gets to know someone, she starts bouncing off the walls talking to them a mile a minute excitedly. She's very ADHD. I swear, none of this is me projecting, not one whit! (Fun fact tho I didn't REALIZE I was doing that until I started talking out her character with my cousin and I went. . . oh.) Anyway, she and Mako made akward small talk for a few minutes before Bo popped in and decided to meddle

Before Bo popped in and started to meddle in his brother's love life. Long story short, they wound up writing letters to each other, Bo invited Siliri to Korrasami's wedding to try to 'encourage' Maliri to happen (and her cousin was no better) and they eventually started dating and then got married. They had three kids, etc. That's on the chart you made- BECAUSE YOU MADE ME A CHART! EEE! 😍

Of course you can talk about your San/Naoki storyline! I would love to hear it. And I'm happy to try and help with the kids age stuff if you still need help!

So if 180 AG is Korrasami's engagement party, that would mean that Korra was around 27 (born 153 AG) and Asami around 28 (born 152 AG). And with the next gen ages, they would've had Yasuko at 182 AG based on their age and the year 200 AG. Bolin would've been 25 when he had Jade (179 AG).

So, if we wanna push the timeline about 3 years, that might work...

Jade would've been born in 182 AG, Naoki born in 184 AG, Yasuko 185 AG, and so on. The older Krew would have all their kids before they're 40, so that would work.

That would potentially mean that Korrasami got married in 181/182 AG. Which... I think works! Everyone would potentially be married by the time they have their kids if that's what you're aiming for.

And Maliri's story is so cute! Them awkward turtleducks haha :) And of course Bolin meddles... That goof.

Oh and I feel you when it comes to projecting onto characters lmao. It happens more often than we know it, but that's part of shipping and making OC's!

(From bi-jinora) I have so many Azula headcanons that I have decided to share with you because. . . I felt like it! So: in my main AU she winds up with a woman named Tashi. Tashi is an airbender from the Si Wong Desert. They have 2 kids, a boy named Lu Ten and a girl named Ta Min. Lu's a non-bender, Min's a very impressive firebender, and both are rather skilled tactitions. (Tbc b/c of the letter limit)

More Azula! I'm a big believer in the plausibility of an Azula redemption arc, so it definitely factors into my headcanons. She got A LOT of therapy, etc, and in my timeline she becomes an honorary Gaang member when she's 20. I also think that there are members of the Si Wong tribes who are descendants of airbenders who escaped Sozin's attack, hence Tashi being an airbender

Azashi (Azula/Tashi) met because Zuko tried to convince Azula to take a vacation. She was around 32, Tashi around 33. Azula was adamant that her trip have some political value, so she decides to go to the Si Wong w/ Takeo (an OC, the biological father of Lu Ten and Ta Min). They were running out of water when Tashi found them and brought them to her village-thing. The other sandbenders freaked out b/c AZULA, but Tashi trusts her. Kinda like Katara with Aang in the begining of the sho

Azula and Takeo wind up stayong at the sandbender commune for a few weeks (they warm up to Azula) and then Tashi decides to join them when they go back to the FN because she wants to see the world. Long story kind of short, Azashi fall in love and get married. Sorry for dumping all these headcanons on you, stitch :)

This sounds like a great story in the making. Idt I've ever heard of any Si Wong tribe headcanons or takes on the Air Nomads surviving in that way, but I can see that! In general, weren't the AN pretty well-travelled? I'm sure a couple that came and went to the temples found pockets of the world that they fell in love with and stayed there. Would love to hear more about this take if you have any!

And I agree Azula is capable of having a happy life if she chooses to go down the path of getting help, which, I think she would. Especially if she has Zuko by her side. I wonder if Azula would be hesitant to accept Tashi's trust right away (her dearest friends betrayed her as a teen), and maybe there's a bit of initial bickering of "Just trust me!"// "Like Agni I will!" Maybe then while Takeo and Azula are staying at the commune, Takeo casually brings up endearing qualities of Tashi... Maybe things that Azula admires too!

I can't fit it into this ask, maybe I'll put it in another one, but the dialogue is essentially: "Come on, Azula! Just trust me!" "Like Agni I will!" "I gave you a chance, didn't I?! Don't I have more reason to distrust you?!"And then Azula says something about how everyone betrayed her, especially towards the end of the war

and they stay there for a long while. Takeo stops to ask Azula something, but leaves with only a knowing smile. Eventually, Azula pulls herslef up shakily, Tashi's tunic damp from tears as she whispers, "You know where to find me when you're ready, right?" And with Azula's nod, the older woman slips out of the tent, many things learned for both women. The End! :) (the beginning takes a bit from the end if the last one b/c I had to stop mid-sentence)

I love it! A sudden rift and boiling point turned suddenly into a moment of realization for the both of them. Words aren't needed, just a comforting embrace.

I always really appreciate scenes like this, because it also gives us a chance to think about the inner thoughts of both the characters, and what the revelation means moving forward! Now, Tashi understands Azula's distrust. Now, Azula has found something that listened and understood her trauma. I can only imagine what they are thinking about!

As far as what’s been going on, a lot of talks about Toph and my ships for her (mostly kantoph now haha). Been doodling a bit more, and I’m focusing on quality fics instead of quantity (I wrote so much in 2021 LOL). Other than that, we chillin! :)

(bi-jinora) I can be convinced to ship nearly anyone with anyone within the ATLAverse (including, at one point, a very weirdly contrived Korzai AU- which is exactly what it sounds like) EXCEPT Kataang. Even Maiko, which I don't love in canon, I can ship with the right AU. Bryke screwed Kataang up so bad that what could have, in another world, been OTP will now turn me off of fics with otherwise super intriguing plots. *shakes fist in annoyance*

Haha that Koarzai is tripping me up... very interesting and I can honestly say I've never heard anyone pairing them up, but respect. Outside the box thinking. Anyway...

That's totally fair! Everyone's got their "oh no no" ship, and Kat/aang definitely trips people up. When I first started writing (just for myself, really) I just naturally went to the canon ships because I never looked at fanon pairs. ATLA was the first show where I went away from the pairs the show made, and I'm very glad I did haha! Lots more fun checking out other ships and reading the other stories people come up with. And yeah Kat/aang rubs me the wrong way, and I wish it didn't. It would make rewatching the show easier LOL.

There are a couple fics I've read where ka is in the beginning, then they separate by the end, so those aren't too bad lol! And as long as they're not the main ship, I can usually vibe with the story. But I've never read a fic just about ka before... Not my cup of tea haha!

I'm very impressed that otherwise you're a big multishipper! I bet it makes for a much more fun and interesting fandom experience, especially if you read about any pair! :D

But yeah I'm with you I don't really care for any of the canon pairs, I'll stick to my niche ships and row my own boats! ;)

(bi-jinora) If you were wondering, the Korzai AU consisted of time travel, a very confused 20-ish Ozai, and a very confused Krew. Right after Kuvira's 2nd trial, too! And tjis came out of trying to prove to someone- either my brother, best friend, or cousins- that I could ship anyone with anyone in the ATLAverse excluding Kataang

...You know, that sounds like something I would do LOL. Beats being wrong, ya know? :D

That sounds like an interesting setup, though. Not to mention super creative, because that's some outside-the-box shipping if I've ever seen it lol.

I'm currently trying to re-write LoK (for a myriad of reasons) and have gotten a ton of inspiration from your blog, so thank you! (I don't have an account but I do have a theoretical name- 'bi-jinora' - so I've decided to hereafter sign my asks with that :) )

Oh how exciting! I'm always tempted to try and write a longfic or a rewrite, but I need some other WIPs to be complete before I do that I think... lol.

But I'm so honored you took inspiration from my blog! Little surprised you can find anything in this rat's nest of an archive, but still! Glad my rambles could help you in any way, that's awesome :) Happy to provide my two cents whenever/just ramble on like I do about whatever AU, and I'll keep an eye out if you ever publish the rewrite!
