Bhutan, a small Himalayan kingdom between India and China, is known for its unique approach to development, prioritizing Gross National Happiness over GDP. The country is famous for its stunning landscapes, including mountains, forests, and rivers, as well as its well-preserved culture rooted in Buddhism. The capital, Thimphu, is home to traditional architecture and modern influences. Bhutan is also renowned for its commitment to environmental conservation, maintaining vast areas of forest and promoting sustainable tourism. The monarchy plays a central role in the nation's governance, with the King and government working closely to ensure the well-being of its citizens.

Morning mesmerizing view of the historical fortress, the Trongsa Dzong from 1644. It was difficult to drive in the monsoon season this way, but now the highway is completely wide and blacktopped and so the drive is completely beautiful and safe. Every turns has this beautiful scenery... #Bhutan #tales_of_bhutan #happinessisaplace #trongsadzong #dzong #bhutandzong #bhutanarchitecture (at Bhutan) https://www.instagram.com/tales_of_bhutan/p/CYgFOYKprqf/?utm_medium=tumblr
