Hello! I have some questions about cyclamen. First, I was wondering if the reason they were exiled was of public knowledge? And also, since they were an heir, does that mean they were from the Yi family? And would they have to be older than the heir apparent?

hi! depending on their reason for exile, it would really be up to you whether or not it ended up being known to the public. whether it was a simple dismissal, or your muse wound up betraying the house in a big way, i wouldn't say it's impossible that they possibly tried to hide the matter all together (if that is what works best for your muse)! the same would also go for if you decide to make them apart of the yi family! because house of gladiolus is a bit more flexible regarding their house heads, it is entirely plausible that cyclamen was a knight who showed great promise and was in line to be the next heir apparent. however, it is also possible that they be a distant relative (aunt/uncle/cousin, etc.) of the current house family members. for any questions regarding the specifics of timelines or other ideas that you may have, i highly recommend reaching out to @yeonsu-bh and @yujinbh!

hello, i had some questions about some of the societal views of beonhwa. with the setting being mixed periods, what are some things that are seen as taboo? (i.e tattoos, homosexuality, swearing, tardiness, etc)

hello, thank you for this question! the answer actually relates back to the previous ask i had in regards to the modern aspects of the rp and au allowing the space for modernized views towards these topics. first and foremost, lgbtq+ muses are very much welcome and are present in beonhwa's society. similarly to how some households are today, though personal beliefs on the matter do exist, there wouldn't be any contempt or disdain towards lgbtq+ muses in society. like the house of mugunghwa, there may be some who adhere to more traditional values, but the expectations of continuing the family bloodline through "traditional means" would mostly be on the heirs. however, any plot lines or development related to these values are entirely up to you! ( any ooc bigotry and prejudice of any kind is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. ) i think that with the mixed time periods and aesthetics coming into play, i want to say that tattoos are not very common and would only really be present for any cultural or traditional purposes (i.e. poly/indigenous tribal tattoos). that being said, i've left a lot of different aspects like this open to the possibility of being expanded or introduced to beonhwa were anyone to have a potential muse interested in doing so! since i intended for beonhwa to be a new nation, constantly growing and experiencing firsts, i think it'd be a fun idea to explore an artist who might begin to bring small tattoo art into the mainstream of society. for other matters, it's really up to your discretion. the best way i could describe it would be workplace etiquette. when in public, you want to put your best foot forward and ensure that you look and act presentable ( this is even more prevalent for those associated with the three houses as you are responsible for maintaining the prestige and reputation of your house). but in your private time, amongst yourself or friends, you may allow yourself to become more lax. illicit activities will still be discouraged and heavily scrutinized if found guilty. drug use is generally unheard of and a major taboo, but drinking is a societal norm. however, over drinking that leads to reckless behavior just might earn you a night of confinement at the gladiolus estate.

is the heir of gladiolus also the grand officer when it comes to ranks?

generally, the heirs of the house go through the same ranking process as any other knights. ideally, they'd achieve the grand officer faster than the average knight, but the title would not be automatically granted to them. however, on the occasion that something were to happen to head of house, whomever is named the heir of gladiolus would take on the role instantaneously, regardless of their current knight rank. i hope this helped!

yes, thank you for asking! however, because these threads have a point value, as opposed to non-event threads, there must be some kind of tie in to the event— regardless of how small— in order to differentiate them.
