Gotta love how the gay rights, women’s rights, anti racism, anti classism, labour rights, islamophobia of this entire website go to hell when countries like China are concerned.

Is communism really all that important to you that you can ignore all the horrors these people are doing?

Is it that your propaganda of “communism good capitalism bad” really needs to be the only one heard, so the condition of workers in Shein and other companies is hindering you as you protest why communism gives labours rights?

Is your idea of every communist nation being utter utopia so fragile that the reality of horrors in that country really need to be muted?

I don’t know man, it feels to me that you guys are “putting your worldviews over people’s lives”.

Is everything alright in your life? Why did you disappear?

I had a lot going on, some good and mostly bad

I started college in July last year and found myself facing a lot of issues

I never really had friends in my school life so this was actually my first time befriending someone, yk?

It came with a of roller coaster of emotions: my days were swamped in a way that I no longer had time to be here; I had a lot going on. From back then till now, I realised that I am one of those people who try to spare other people’s emotions at cost of there own, so there were times when I was letting "friends" being inconsiderate and bitter to me slide because "they had a hard time". I have been slowly finding my footing since semester 2 and setting my boundaries.

Then in December, we lost my cousin to leukemia. That was and remains the worst period of my life.

The immediate result of that was the decaying of the joint familial ties. He was my second cousin, my great uncle's grandson. My uncle kinda went insane after that (not clinically, he's just not normal anymore) and my dad no longer felt any need to maintain any love relations with any of his uncles after all their families did: his nephew was the only thing keeping him there.

As someone raised in a joint family, that stings to this day.

Then started the second term. Things just became worse for me (apparently you are not well liked by your class's cool kids when you draw attention away from them 🙂 these people are still in middle school mentally)

And the third semester was spent reeling from, well, all of this. Was seeing the psychologist since a while and she started taking the lead since a couple of sessions ago. Something about priortising my pain and validating my feelings, it's looking positive.

Then I came home and found out that my grandfather might also have cancer and the doctors keep postponing his operation :)

All of this lead to a lot of growing up. About people, about trust, about self worth, about friendships, about family, about love, about, well, everything. I finally found myself being somewhat mature after Diwali this year.

So yeah, I had the worst year of my life. God was the only one on my side, understanding my feelings and being my comfort.

At first, I was overwhelmed. Then I was just sulking and generally sad.

Then, when I finally felt happy and like giving time and care to myself, I came back to a place that was all about me, and friends I can rant to: my blog.

So there it is, all that :)

Volksempfänger are Ajay Saggar (Bhajan Bhoy) and Holly Habstritt. They are based in North Holland, Netherlands (I think). Ajay Saggar apparently had an active 2023 with three different releases.

"Attack of Sound" is the last of those releases. This LP truly lives up to its name. Other posts have mentioned Phil Spector, Detroit, MC5, and My Bloody Valentine. Agreed - but Holly Habstritt's vocals give this a distinct pop feel too. I can't help but think of Grass Widow and Shadow Show when I listen to this.

This is a co-release between Cardinal Fuzz (UK) and Feeding Tube Records (Massachusetts).

Shoutout to the group of girls from my section who just know me as the 'display idea provider' gorl but still randomly decided to give me thumbs ups with both their hands and daat kelano smiles from a feet away during assembly. I took it as "we see you and trust your idea, keep it up" and it will be enough to bring my imaginations to life even if the weight of the responsibility is a lot. I'll do it for them.
