Vidya Balan expresses happiness over returning to Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise in her latest social media post

For the first time, Vidya Balan will be joining hands with Kartik Aaryan for the much-talked about horror comedy franchise Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

Being one of the most beloved franchises in Bollywood, Bhool Bhulaiyaa has tasted success twice. And now keen on repeating the mantra are the makers who announced the return of the horror-comedy with a triquel. While Kartik Aaryan was already expected to reprise the role of Rooh Baba in this upcoming venture, they have added to the anticipation by revealing the news of Vidya Balan aka the OG Manjulika also joining the cast. After the Satyaprem Ki Katha actor shared this good news on social media, the Kahaani actress too joined him, expressing her happiness.

Sharing her excitement about her first collaboration with Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to talk about her return as Manjulika as she said, “Mere dholna…. Aa rahi hai waapis, aapki Manjulika, iss baar Rooh Baba @TheAaryanKartik ke saath.” The announcement was shared by both the stars along with a video which were a series of montages from the song ‘Mere Dholna’ which was also recreated for Part 2 of the horror comedy.

Further adding to this anticipation, fans too expressed their love and happiness with the return of Vidya. "Cantt waittt to se u back the og manjulika superr excitedddd" said one of the users whereas another one added, “it's been more than 15 years.Still Manjulika's full entry gives me scary chill. Only Vidya Balan could pull that  off,” added another.

For the unversed, Vidya essayed the character suffering from multiple personality disorder in the first film wherein she played the roles of Siddharth’s loving wife Avni as well as dancer Manjulika. The ghost of Manjulika returned with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which was essayed by Tabu, who along with Akshay Kumar are not expected to be a part of third film.

Kartik Aaryan Roped in for Kabir Khan’s New Film, Shooting to Start in May 2023

Kartik Aaryan, known for his splendid characterization in movies such as Pyaar ka Punchnama, Dhamaka, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and others will soon start shooting for his next film, none other than one directed by the fame of Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan by Kabir Khan. The shooting is set to begin in May 2023 and the Bollywood star is already looking ahead to it. The last directorial project ‘83’ by Kabir was about the heroes who brought the 1983 World Cup to home.

However, Kabir’s next movie is all about someone Indians do not know. The filmmaker was talking about the movie at an event and said that he has come to this fascinating true story. The storyline is about a living legend, an unknown hero, and not like the one renowned in his project ‘83’. What compelled him to bring out the story is that the people of the nation are not aware of this individual.

The surprise factor and driving force are how people let someone who did so much, just fade away. So, this will create excitement among the audience. He also said that the shooting for the movie will begin in May, and the casting of other characters is ongoing. It is most likely that Kartik Aaryan will play the lead. Presently, the actor is on a shoot for a romantic track in Kashmir for ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, his next project.

Kartik is supposedly beginning to prepare for Kabir Khan’s film once he returns from Kashmir and delves deep into the role. That being said, Satyaprem Ki Katha is going to release on 29 June, and will also start Kiara Advani.

The flow of the screenplay was going just right with Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri appearing to be the “perfect romantic couple”. All of a sudden, it was revealed that Prince Debendranath, who was supposedly Rooh Baba’s past life, was homosexual and was killed by his emperor father on account of his homosexuality. Debendranath’s homosexuality ruined the emperor’s dreams of having his son succeed on his throne. As the king found his only son dancing in the hall dressed in a female dancer’s attire, he was so enraged that he slapped him hard and burnt him alive. That scene was indeed devastating. The fact is that Debendranath’s two elder sisters, Anjulika and Manjulika, had betrayed him as they were eyeing the emperor’s throne that was meant for him. They had complained about his homosexuality to the emperor. From this, you may get a hint that this story is of rebirth and revenge. You have to watch the entire movie to know what’s coming next. I was also disappointed with the title track of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Its dance moves and visuals are more or less similar to the prequel’s title track. Besides, as the name of this horror-comedy franchise signifies Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which means labyrinth, the story itself is like a labyrinth with unexpected twists in every moment that will not allow you to get out of it until the climax. In fact, this film has considerable amounts of horror, suspense, thrill, and comedy blended together for an ultimate cinematic experience. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa horror-comedy franchise has three main characters; the protagonist (played by Akshay Kumar in the original and followed up by Kartik Aaryan), the lead ghost Manjulika, and her ghost sister Anjulika. In the original 2007 film, Akshay Kumar played a psychiatrist who saved Vidya Balan from her split-personality disorder where she acquired the personality of Manjulika. In this third sequel, Kartik Aaryan plays a self-proclaimed yet fake ghostbuster who deals with two ghost sisters Manjulika and Anjulika (played by Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit respectively). So, as you can see, it’s always the protagonist against the ghosts Manjulika and Anjulika in creatively varying and organized stories each time. Mind that, all the films are set in entirely different scenarios and their plot concepts have no resemblance. Neither are the sequels a continuation of their prequels. Only the main characters in all the films remain the same. I was indeed shocked to see Kartik as a homosexual and girly prince which is entirely opposed to his dashing and cocky image. He just doesn’t suit that role. The flow of the screenplay was going just right with Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri appearing to be the “perfect romantic couple”. All of a sudden, it was revealed that Prince Debendranath, who was supposedly Rooh Baba’s past life, was homosexual and was killed by his emperor father on account of his homosexuality. Debendranath’s homosexuality ruined the emperor’s dreams of having his son succeed on his throne. As the king found his only son dancing in the hall dressed in a female dancer’s attire, he was so enraged that he slapped him hard and burnt him alive. That scene was indeed devastating. The fact is that Debendranath’s two elder sisters, Anjulika and Manjulika, had betrayed him as they were eyeing the emperor’s throne that was meant for him. They had complained about his homosexuality to the emperor. From this, you may get a hint that this story is of rebirth and revenge. You have to watch the entire movie to know what’s coming next. I was also disappointed with the title track of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Its dance moves and visuals are more or less similar to the prequel’s title track. In fact, it’s the title tracks that define the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise of horror comedies. The makers could have come up with something more innovative this time that would have enhanced the hype of the track as well as the film. Just having rapper Pitbull voice the track alongside singer Neeraj Shridhar with Kartik Aaryan in the same attire as in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 title track and with the same dance moves is not enough.
