Decided to do 'em both because I love my boys

Ethari is like super interesting to me in part because of 1) cultural implications in both his marriage and how he responds to shit, by which I mean 2) I think he's why the Silvergrove comes off as strangely, fundamentally passive to me?? I think in a lot of ways he's like Terry, in which he's very accepting and supportive and that's ordinarily a good thing, but it does mean sometimes being acceptive and supportive of traits, decisions, or rituals he could probably put his foot down about more. And I think it's really refreshing cause I feel like we don't always see the dark side of acceptance be explored as a trait that often. That said I love seeing him corral both Runaan and Rayla when it matters in BH, and I'm very excited to see him pop up him the show again (fingers crossed for S6)!

I always adore characters who destroy themselves for ultimately misguided (if well intentioned, sometimes) reasons so of course I love Runaan, lmao. He reminds me the most of Claudia - loyal, maybe doesn't question enough, gets in over his head because of having too much faith in his family - but I also love how stubborn and grumpy he is coupled with how soft and sentimental he can be with his loved ones. Very excited to see how he responds to the changed world he finds himself in, both the broyals, and how he may be forced to confront the issues in his own mindsets by seeing some of them play out with Rayla in ways he doesn't want <3

DESCRIPTION

This character would be Saul's second ex-wife; his first wife, Terry, and his third, Thalia, are already in play! (As well as Saul's son, Micah.) Now, this role can either be a jumping off point for the character and have very little to do with the actual story of Tamara that's going to unfold ORRR we can be super, super, super messy with this. It's truly up to you how we go about bringing her to the game.

Some options include Tamara's oldest child secretly being Saul's that she's passing off as her second/current husband's child or she's not 100% sure if her oldest is Saul's or her husband's biological child, which would be very dramatic and fun to play out. However, it requires deceit on her part so that's understandable if you don't want to do that! Another option is that none of her children are Saul's, but since their divorce fifteen years ago, Tamara has been unable to get Saul out of her head and wants to get back together with him. Again, these are just some soapy suggestions! None of these have to happen if you decide you want to pick up the role but take the character in a different direction.

Another thing that's up to you: why exactly Tamara has come to Blue Harbor. Maybe she had to move because her husband got a promotion to BH or nearby Chicago and they decided to raise their family in the suburbs instead of the busy city. If we go down the 'Saul has a secret child' route, maybe Tamara couldn't take the weight of her secret anymore and moved to BH in order to introduce Saul to his second born child, OR they don't know who their child's biological father is and can't take the uncertainty anymore, so they move to BH in order to find out the truth/request a DNA sample. (Again, the secret child plot is just a suggestion, so don't worry if you don't want to go down that route.) It can be a planned move to Blue Harbor in specific or it could be a total coincidence! Get wild with it.

Now, the NON-NEGOTIABLES. They were married for nine years, from July 2000 to July 2009. Tamara and Saul's backstory has to remain that they met while she was a secretary at the firm where Saul was a junior associate at. She was about four to seven years younger than Saul. She grew up Christian (denomination up to you! She doesn't currently have to be religious, just that she grew up going to church) in the suburbs with conservative parents. Their age difference and the fact that Saul is Jewish were the two reasons why her parents started off hating Saul, but relations between him and her family got worse after they learned that Saul was unwilling to have any more children after Micah. Initially upset, Tamara decided she was okay with not having any biological children of her own because she had Micah as her step-son, but secretly longed for Saul to change his mind. They spent nine years as best friends with Tamara quitting her job a year into their marriage and becoming a stay-at-home wife. As Saul advanced in his career, he had less time to spend with Tamara or his son, Micah, so she ended up very close with Saul and Terry's son after many missed dinners and baseball games. Along with his promotions throughout their marriage, his obligations and priorities changed as he became more obsessed with success and fitting into Manhattan High Society—that meant Tamara turned into a lowkey trophy wife that accompanied Saul to events and charity galas. For a long time, they were happy together, but eventually the yearning for having children got to be too much for her and they came to the mutual decision to divorce. After the divorce, Tamara quickly married another man and had two children in quick succession.

In Saul's mind, they had a perfectly happy marriage that ended because their goals were different and couldn't be reconciled. Saul still maintains this was the easiest, most amicable divorce he's ever seen in his thirty year long career. However, it was mostly a happy marriage because Tamara was a pushover. Saul thinks of her as his 'easy' wife out of the three because she didn't put up a fuss a lot and though she got upset with him from time to time, they never really had any big blowout fights. They mostly resolved any problems with Tamara compromising or Saul making empty promises. Now, as for Tamara currently, she could have grown tougher after becoming a mother, or she still has trouble standing up for herself. Again, a lot of this is up to you!  Sophomore Ahmed Dkhiri and senior Jack Raulston scored goals to lead Bearden’s comeback effort in a tough 2-1 District 4 road win at West in their regular season finale.

 With the Bulldogs down a goal and less than a minute until intermission, it was déjà vu all over again when Dkhiri scored in the same fashion he had two days prior at Greeneville, finding net after a Dillon Sims corner kick and Cole Stopka head bob.

Ten minutes into the second half, Raulston settled a nice direct kick serve from Sims, then created a split-second opening across the middle to connect on yet another left footed laser, scorching the net for a 2-1 Bulldog lead with 29:26 left in the game.

Despite eight yellow cards and twenty-seven total fouls, the game was a cleanly fought contest that saw Bearden control tempo and negate the aggressive Rebel attacks. The Bulldogs will now have a home district playoff game on Monday, and again Wednesday if they advance.

10. Inspiration/Muse: Uh... I don’t know? Other people are pretty inspiring! But I don’t inspire easily. I get brief flashes, but nothing that sticks...

11. Dream Job: God this changes all the time. Like, actual job that I get paid for? I just want to work in the government and help make things better. That’s why I’m sticking with local gov and community development. It’s important work! And maybe it isn’t the foreign service, but it’s there and at the end of the day you can say I actually helped someone do something, which is important if I’m not going to burnout or wilt and wane.

My actual dream “job” though? Being the cantankerous neighborhood aunty. I want to be the person adults feel safe letting their children outside because they know I’ll be on the porch watching them. I want to be the neighbor that other neighbors feel they can go to if there’s some sort of problem. I want kids who need a little bit more attention to tell me that they got an A on their history test, and I want to be able to tell them good job and give them a treat. I want to make sure everyone in my neighborhood is able to vote if they want to, and if folks aren’t naturalized I want to tutor them for the naturalization exam. Is that weird? It’s probably really weird. Sorry.

12. I was doing roller derby for a bit before my league turned weird. I also love Sakura Haruno, particularly @itsthechocopuff’s interpretation of the character.

13. Top three ships: VetVimes has a real hold on me. Uh, outside of that? I mean, I’m good with most ships, tbh. I really like Shikamaru/Sakura.

14. Chapstick or lipstick: Am I putting in effort or no? If I’m putting in effort, it’s lipstick every time. If not, chapstick. Though, to be honest, I do like playing around with different colors. So if it’s what I prefer to mess around with when I’m feeling playful, then lipstick! Absolutely! I have a couple of dark greens, a black liquid lipstick (Witches - KVD), a nice chocolate brown color (Beautymark - Nyx), a few reds (Outlaw -KVD, Exotic - Nyx), a nice spooky gray-lavender-mauve color (Embellishment - Nyx)... even an entire lip pallet to make my own (Anastasia-BH)!

15. Currently reading: Street Magic by Tamora Pierce! Plants! Stones! Magic! Middle Eastern/Central Asia inspired setting! POC characters! Snarky elder lesbian character with realistic recovery from a small amount of brain damage received two books prior! Realistic views on gangs and why gangs are such an important fixture in low-mod income communities! It’s excellent!

25 1/2 inch up to 40 inches of cotton lycra jersey or cotton elastane jersey depending on adding a band to the bottom or not.

Knippen:

*Voorpand aan vouw 1x

*Achterpand aan vouw 1x

*Mouw 2x (voor en achter zijn gelijk)

Voor korte mouw versies en de de versie met boord onder staan er lijnen op het patroon. Wil je hier een boord aanzetten teken dan 0.7 cm naadwaarde aan. Wil je hier een zoom teken dan 2 cm zoom aan.

*Boord onder 2x (optioneel)

Ik heb de boorden van het roze shirt wat breder geknipt dan het patroon. Ze zijn 15 cm. Als je dit doet dat moet je het shirt iets korter knippen.

*Halsboordjes zelf knippen: 5 cm hoog (of 4 als je een smaller biesje mooier vindt) en per maat:

Maat 36: bies voor 16 cm breed aan vouw en bies achter 14.5 cm breed aan vouw.

Maat 38: bies voor 16.5 cm breed aan vouw en bies achter 15 cm breed aan vouw.

Maat 40: bies voor 17 cm breed aan vouw en bies achter 15.5 cm breed aan vouw.

Maat 42: bies voor 17.5 cm breed aan vouw en bies achter 16 cm breed aan vouw.

Maat 44: bies voor 18 cm breed aan vouw en bies achter 16.5 cm breed aan vouw.

cut:

*Frontpiece on fold 1x

*Backpiece on fold 1x

*Sleeve 2x (front and back are identical)

For the shorter sleeve options and the version with a  bottom band, you can find cutting lines on the pattern. For cuffs/bands add a 1/4 inch seam allowance, and for hem add 3/4 inch for a hem.

For the pink top I cut the bottom bands a little wider. They are 6 inches. If you cut the band wider make sure you cut the front and back part of the shirt a bit shorter.

Neck binding cut to size: 2 inch high (of 1 1/2 inch if you prefer a thinner binding and per size:

Size 6: binding front 6 1/3 inch wide on fold and binding back 5 3/4 inch wide on fold.

Size 8: binding front 61/2 inch wide on fold and binding back 5 9/10 inch wide on fold.

Size 10: binding front 6 3/4 inch wide on fold and binding back 6 1/10 inch wide on fold.

Size 12: binding front 6 7/8 inch wide on fold and binding back 6 1/3 inch wide on fold.

Size 14: binding front 7 inch wide on fold and binding back 6 1/2 inch wide on fold.

Werk de schoudernaden af met overlock og zigzag.

Speld de schoudernaad maar laat 0.7 cm open aan de hals.

Finish the edges with overlock or zigzag.

Pin the shoulder seams but leave 1/4 inch open at the neck.

Naai de schoudernaden dicht en laat 0.7 cm open aan de hals.

Close the shoulder seams en leave 1/4 inches open at the neck.

Speld de halsbiezen op elkaar zoals zoals op de foto. De achterbies ligt op de voorbies.

Pin the neckbands as indicated in the photo. The back band goes on top of the front band.

Naai de biezen op elkaar op 0.7 cm vand de rand. Geef een knipje in de hoek.

Sew the neckbands together on 1/4 inch from the edge. Clip the corner.

Speld de biezen langs de hals. Het kruispunt vand de twee op elkaar gestikte biezen komt op het punt waar je de schoudernaden hebt open gelaten.

Pin de bands along the neckline. The crosspoint of the two neckbands needs to be pinned exactly on the point where you left your shoulder seams open.

Stik de halsbiezen langs de hals met een stretch steek setting op je naaimachine.

Sew the neckbands along the neck with the stretch stitch setting on your sewing machine.

Nu kun je de naden afwerken met overlock of zig-zag

Now you can finish the edges with overlock or zig-zag.

Pers de hals plat en stik de hals desgewenst door.

Press the neck and topstitch if desired.

Doorstikken op 0,5 cm van de rand.

Topstitch about 1/5 inches from the edge.

Speld en naai de mouwkop in de mouwopening. gebruik hiervoor een overlock of zigzag steek. Als je een zigzag gebruikt dan moet je er nog een stretch stiksel naast plaatsen. Voor extra strakke lijnen en stevigheid kun je ook naast je overlock nog een stretch stiksel plaatsen.

Pin and sew the top of the sleeve into the sleeve opening. Use an overlock or zigzag stitch. in case of zig-zag put a stretch stitch next to it. For an extra clean line and strength, you can also put a stretch stitch next to the overlock.

Speld de zijnaad in de oksel zo dat de naden van het voor-en achterpand allebei een andere kant op wijzen. Voorpand wijst omhoog, achterpand omlaag. Zo krijg je niet een hele dikke naad. Speld de rest van de zijnaad.

Pin the side seam in the armpit so that the seam of the front-and backpiece each point in a different direction. Front seam up, back seam down. This way you avoid a bulky seam.Pin the rest of the side seam.

Sluit de zijnaden.Gebruik hiervoor een overlock of zigzag steek. Als je een zigzag gebruikt dan moet je er nog een stretch stiksel naast plaatsen. Voor extra strakke lijnen en stevigheid kun je ook naast je overlock nog een stretch stiksel plaatsen.

Close the sideseams. Use an overlock or zigzag stitch. in case of zig-zag put a stretch stitch next to it. For an extra clean line and strength, you can also put a stretch stitch next to the overlock.

Sluit de manchetten met een stretch steek.

Vouw ze in de breedte dubbel, goede kanten naar buiten.

Close the cuffs with a stretch stitch

Fold them over widthwise, right sides on the outside.

Speld de open kanten van de boorden tegen de onderkant van de mouw. Naai de boorden aan de mouwen met een overlock steek of zigzag in combinatie met stretch steek.

Pin the open sides of the cuffs to the edge of the sleeve. Sew the cuff to the sleeve. Again, using overlock or zigzag with an extra stretch stitch.

Meet 2 cm zoom af en strijk naar binnen om. Naai de zoom met een coverlock of tweelingnaald in je naaimachine aan de buitenkant van het shirt.

Measure 3/4 inch hem and press to the inside. Sew the hem with a coverlock stitch or a twin needle in your sewing machine on the outside of your shirt.

Je kunt ook een boord aan je shirt naaien in plaats van een zoom.Volg in dat geval de naai instructies van het shirt met kapmouwtjes.
