Welcome!
Hiya! Art student here;
I decided I really should get on some social media/website to post what I'm working on, if only for myself to look back on/keep me on track with documenting my progress. So here it is! I'm making a tumblr blog, gonna try to keep updating it with what I'm working on so I can remember how much I've learned when I check back in the future.
My background is really more in 2D art, and I was originally planning on studying 2D animation but I realized I wanted to learn the technical aspects of 3D animation and modeling because I didn't believe I'd be able to get started at all with it on my own. It's been a little over a year since I started learning 3D modeling, so if my stuff looks amateurish/if you know of a better way of doing things... please help! lol. I'm open to any advice anyone can offer!
Also gonna post about games and stuff I'm into, hope I can make some friends on here ^.^ currently playing BG3 (but can't really run act 3... so I just keep making new saves), BGEE(then on to BG2), and replaying Roadwarden and DOS2 when I have free time <3

Ooof this dream.
So Candlekeep wasn't Gorion's first stop, but the only one that actually let them stay.
I love that Linden thinks of the crow's feet as "little skeletal claws". It's like a goth instinct, everything has to be related to death somehow. The Bhaalspawns are absolutely Faerûn's version of the Addams Family.
I love how the game hits you with Gorion's death over and over. Even now he can't bear to look at Gorion's dead form.
Linden immediately jumped into adventuring but I imagine a huge part of it is a desire to run from the grief of his foster father's death.

As I replay BG1, I can't help but draw parallels between Durlag's Tower and Moonrise Towers in BG3, especially with mind flayers being relevant in both cases.
In BG1, the mind flayers took control of dopplegangers and used them to infiltrate Durlag's Tower and kill everyone inside while disguised as their loved ones. The implication is that the mind flayers were psionically 'feasting on' Durlag's rage and fear (and perhaps literally on the corpses).
Durlag's greatest fear was losing his family, that fear drew them to the Tower, and they heightened that fear by killing his family.
What if it's the same with the Thorms in Moonrise? We know for a fact that it was built above a hidden mind flayer colony. But supposedly they didn't know that when the Tower was initially built (or else why the hell would they build it there in the first place). I imagine the mind flayers used their psionic abilities to prevent themselves from being noticed.
But what if the mind flayers were behind the initially tragedy that tore apart the Thorms in the first place?
As far as I know, the game never specified what killed Isobel in her bedroom originally. There's the skeleton dog that talks about dying while trying to protect her but doesn't remember what from, Isobel doesn't remember her death (only a long darkness and then waking in a tomb with her father), and Aylin just mentions it taking everyone by surprise.
Maybe it was a mind flayer?
In the same way they were drawn to Durlag's Tower to feast off his fear of losing his family, maybe the mind flayers under Moonrise felt Ketheric's fear of losing his family (especially after his wife just died) and killed Isobel to make it more potent?
Maybe the murder and subsequent war was to cause fear and death that the mind flayers could feed off of? And then the first war ended and Ketheric was defeated by the Harpers and Druids, but the lands were still shadow-cursed and avoided, and so the colony didn't have any new brains to feast on and started starving. The Elder Brain went to 'sleep' so as to conserve energy, until it was woken when Durge/Gortash enslaved it with the Crown of Karsus.
In the notes about the Emperor and Stelmane, one common trend in the people who saw something strange (brains on the plate, "saw it in the corner", etc), is that they don't really remember or register seeing a mind flayer (likely because of the mental manipulation).
If that's the case here, maybe that's why no one seems to remember exactly what killed Isobel.

Tanar'ri? I looked it up and apparently they're demons from the Abyss.
So they fought and encased this evil even before the whole mind flayer+doppleganger incident? Maybe it is what drew the other evils to this tower?
Linden: ehhh its probably died of old age already

yeahhhh it worked! That fight was hard, AVARICE kept turning invisble and that poison cloud almost killed Khalid and Minsc.
Thankfully I had found a bunch of health potions and that kept them alive long enough to kill the Wardens

It's been a little bit since I've played with Linden.
Dopplegangers you say? Well, I suppose this is why Linden decides to risk his life on this expedition.
Sarevok has doppleganger allies. Perhaps this is where they came from? Or at least find more information on dopplegangers
