Sad, wet noodle of a wizard from my many planned D&D player characters. I don't even have BG3, but I'm already planning Tristan and Gale's sad wizard romance.

Tristan is just so annoyed at himself that he finds Gale charming despite his hubris, which led him to eat magical items (as if Tristan himself isn't immune to Wizard Hubris, known terminal disease among wizardkind).

Young Tristan dodging a bullet by being gay, but still took the second by wanting to learn magic from Mystra to impress the handsome knight he fancies.

Tristan is a sad wet paper towel most times, but Gale just brings out the (best) worst of him.

Must be about Level 15, he's got some work to do to achieve his wizard swag.

Tristan doesn't hold a romanticized view of the Weave like Gale does. Magic is a tool to get from A to Z, the Gods are pricks, and lofty goals are for fools (says the guy who wants revenge on [homebrew villain from a future D&D campaign]).

So imagine his frustration as he falls for the handsome fool who treats the Weave as fine art, heartbroken over a goddess, and entertains the thought of being a god.
