Quarantine Q&A
I was tagged by @mhandersmyheart. Sorry, I completely forgot about this. Better late than never.
Are you staying home from work or school?
I’m staying home from work. I was a temp at a library, and I was due to work there until mid-June.
If you’re staying home, who’s with you?
I’m not actually staying in my own apartment. I figured that if I was to stay in quarantine, I wanted to do so in a place that has more space, a backyard and a private sauna. So I traveled to my old home town, to my mother’s house. I’m staying here with my mother and my dog (the one and only, the legend, Monty).
Are you a homebody?
Oh definitely. My every-day life pretty much consists of spending time at home, playing video games, watching movies/streams/youtube, cooking, walking the dog, etc. So in that regard life isn’t much different from normal, except I’m unable to travel or participate in cultural events.
An event that you were looking forward to that got canceled?
Plenty of events. I was supposed to travel to the UK, Netherlands and Belgium in March. I was looking forward to seeing several musicals in London (I had already purchased tickets). I also had several tickets for BFI Flare (London’s LGBT film festival), which obviously got canceled too.
What music are you listening to?
Lately I’ve been mostly listening to video game -related music.
What are you reading?
Nothing at the moment.
What are you doing for self-care?
I’m trying to focus on the little things that make life better. Good food (and soon, barbecue!), bathing in sauna (and having a nice fizzy drink after sauna 👌), relaxing strolls in the forest, enjoying nature and all its wonderful smells that become even more intense as summer approaches... and perhaps I get to spend time at our summer cabin by the lake, as soon as the weather becomes warmer. And obviously, video games. Now I have plenty of time to play through the pile of PS4 games that have been waiting to be touched for months. Currently I’m obsessed with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Before that, I finished Detroit Become Human. (Which reminds me, I feel like I should rant about Detroit Become Human but I have too many incomprehensible thoughts about this game.)
As usual, I’m tagging @mshenkowithoutadoubt. Doing this Q&A is not compulsory, though!
#ruumiipersonal#trying not to think about coronavirus and the current state of the world is also good self-care#video games are definitely helping with that
